Peter, show us everything. Don't worry about getting bored. everything you do is very interesting, it doesn't matter if it's 10 minutes of pure knowledge transfer or 60 minutes of cutting or wiring trees. you learn something new in all matters. keep it up, i love your videos.
Thank you master I see every time that you have a lot of trees in thet same atage I have onder why the first cut is made so high Would be nice to see what kind of design has worked after this stage. As we see that straight trunks are normally cut shorter to make movements Greetings from Chile. Now we are in fall 🍁🍂
Dont forget I used to be a speech writer and if you must know, I addressed the IIT-Kharagpur Convocation this year as their Chief Guest and Guest of Honour. I think I can speak English.
You can go along almost any roadway where they use mechanical equipment for clearing and find as many 'bonzai starters' as you could ever dream of. Peter needs some cordless pruners.
Mr Chan, thank you so much🙏, for me it was very pleasant to review this class because there is always a scene in what must be done in pre-bonsai that escapes the eye and i always forget that i should do maintenance pruning to have more branches and as i said, reviewing this class brought me that memory
hi Peter I have a question about air layering I've checked to if I have some roots on my air layering and I have, so to gain more roots before I cut and pot can I trim some foliage to encourage more roots thank you keep up the videos they are great. kind ragards John
Thank you for the wealth of information I Wanted to know how to deal with maples that look sick , buds turning black after winter and looks dried ??and ask if all those special maples are grafted from a generic strong rootstock or are most growing on their own roots ?? Thanks
Bonsai soil is good in a humid climate or when you want to be very precise about how much water and fertilizer the trees are getting as it consists almost entirely of mineral components. in my dry continental climate i prefer to work with garden soil (holds moisture better) and sometimes mix with sand or expanded clay if the soil is too heavy.
@@thegonzalezs4953 if you start planting the trees in A ordinari flowerpot (sligtly biger in size) and us garden kompost the care is much easyer. Great video. So informative! At 29:34 you mentioned that you would not normally use dissectums for bonsai. Any reason for this or is it personal preference?
@@peterchan3100 thank you! I have a Red Dragon and was thinking to turn it into bonsai but was unsure if it was ideal to do so. Maybe I will leave it and try with another variety
I have 3 maples in my garden, 1 always in shade burns, one half in half out depending on the time of year always burns worst, one in full sun, doesn’t burn... I don’t get it.
The amount of sunnlight marples can tolerate is depending on the size and color of the leafs. Smalle dark green leafs do well in sunn red leafs and biger leafs need mor shelter.

I only watched half last time so I'll watch the rest now 😊
No problems, always interesting
This is one of my favourite videos Peter. I look forward to following their progress.
Peter is so enthusiastic that he even continued in the rain. It’s so genuine.
Peter, you are definitely "samurai bonsai", so fast, so precise, lop, snip, snip, done, next...
i hope there are a lot more maple videos this year again. i just love them. it has almost an asmr kind of feeling when you cut them :D

I learn so much every time I watch you! Thank you 🙏🏼
I have been making bonsais for 20 years, and since I have followed it on UA-cam, I have learned a lot, thank you for teaching us this beautiful art.
Peter worked on so many trees so quickly, he had to show it twice!
His English is quite pure without the accent. Very good.

Good morning 🌲🌳🌲
26:54 is it possible to divide the trunk between these 2 branches? Or is the trunk too thin? I hope sir understood me
Yes you can divide the trunk to make two trees -just make sure that each side has some root attached to it. Understand?
@@peterchan3100 wow. Do you have a video on this method?

You can grow bonsai in any soil provided it drains reasonably well.

Where can I get maple tree here in India .??
Last week i heard of someon who do bonsai using chinar (platanus orientalis) in india. Its not a marple but close relatet.
If you live near the Himalayas then you might be able to grow maple

The drooping habit of the young branches hides the trunk making it difficult to show the trunk when grown as a bonsai.
