I was never a fan of the White Hot insert, it feels too soft for my personal taste and when I use the insert I have a tendency to leave putts short. Though I like a mallet Putter I don't want it to be too large or have too much going on which I find distracting. I agree with you that last year's two Ball mallets looked extremely odd-looking
I've been eyeing the Stroke Lab mallets for a while...definitely a single white alignment line for me. TBH I enjoy my TM Ghost Spider S that I picked up dirt cheap new in 2015 too much. I've never done a Putter fitting but I'd want to if spending nearly as much as what you'd pay for a Driver.
The Toulon’s are beautiful but I love the white hot feel so I’m torn. Just got a toulon Chicago very cheap but may swap for a tri hot 5k, the double wide performed great in the store for me
@@stephendibari5010 I agree I took a chance of the Toulon because I can sell it at a profit, I don’t even have it yet but I tried Toulon and tri hot in store today and holed everything with the tri hot I always here people say certain milled putters are soft but in my experience they are hard except on perfect strokes, it why I’m not really interested in scotty Cameron’s The tri hot 5k also seemed much more forgiving Coming from a milled blade mizuno putter which I’ve had for 5 years and putt well with but looking for a softer feel and more forgiveness if I hit it out the heel or toe a bit I couldn’t play the lab either even if I had 18 putts a round with it, so huge and ugly 😂
@@Cornwall1888 I hear you loud and clear on the LAB. It rolled nice and the science behind it works. I couldn’t grow into the looks. And the feel being 100% aluminum wasn’t solid enough for me. Also the day of my SamPutt lab fitting I rolled a double wide and triple wide trihot 5K but they don’t come in slant necks so I opted out of them. I really like the idea of a mallet forgiveness in a blade style but I have a slight arc in my stroke and need a slant neck hosel. I rolled an Evnroll ER2 for nearly 4 years prior and loved that putter but again I grew out of the feel of it. I love the craftsmanship the looks and everything about the Toulons but once again they are just too hard feeling for me.
Odyssey number 11 with the stroke lab shaft that Taylor does not have day everyday twice on Sunday over the spider EX! Now, versus the spider X or spider tour it's much much closer! I like them both but the Odyssey number 11 stroke lab shaft wins again
2 weeks ago on SamPutt lab I was custom fit for the Tour line slant neck 32.5 inches 63 deg lie angle standard odyssey pistol grip. This putter feels amazing especially with the white hot face! After rolling the Eleven, I rolled a Toulon Daytona and didn’t like the hard/loud/clicky sound/feel. Wasn’t a fan right away. My new Eleven should be in my hands by next week or 2. Sold my LAB DF 2.1 on eBay after my custom fit (within 2 days) just couldn’t get over the looks and feel, mostly the looks! The Branding iron wasn’t cutting it anymore 😂
Haha and people say those branding irons are supposed to be "game changing".. I am not sure about that but that tells you how good this Odyssey number 11 is with the stroke lab stability shaft. I just picked one up for the first time yesterday 35 inch and my gosh that white hot insert felt so amazing but the number 11 head with the stability shaft I've never made so many putts that you could measure within a millimeter of the center of the hole, every time unbelievable. and that was coming from a spider X
UPDATE: after about 6 weeks (towards the of April) My putter came in with the wrong odyssey grip, the fitter at Club Champion Took an odyssey pistol grip from one of the other putters and swapped them out. The putter was supposed to be custom weighted at D1-D2 at 33 inches. It came in at C1. Was way too light feeling. As of this update Odyssey Still doesn’t have a weight kit. the fitter used a lot of lead tape and filled in the little cavities behind the titanium plugs to get it to D1. I then rolled 7 putts (standard practice) on the SamPutt Lab and right away the lie angle was off slightly, he bent the lie angle and got it to 62.5° and 3.5° of loft. This was after several attempts but he got it right. It’s a good thing I chose to pick it up at the club champion store so I could test it out to make sure everything was right.
@@BuffaloNickel9 awesome 👏 I would take that putter and bring it to club champion and pay their $125 fitting fee on the SamPutt Lab machine and make sure the length, lie angle and weight is correct. Read my update I just posted it was well worth $125 to make sure my putter is fit to my lie angle very flat at 62.5° with the correct loft to match what the SamPutt lab was giving me. the length at 33 inches makes the putter feel very light at a swing weight of C1. My fitter added lead tape in those little cavities and boom he got it to D1 which feels perfect for a 33 inch putter. I’m 5‘5“ so 33 inches is just right for me. The white HOT face won me over I never putted with an odyssey white hot face and I’ve been playing golf nearly 30 years. Simply the best feeling putter ever. @@stephendibari5010 the white hot face absolutely won me over as well. I've had a putter fitting on the Sam lab and it was when they originally came out with the technology. it was nice but since then I've learned by feel when a putter is at the appropriate lie angle weight and grip immediately for me. Length is 35 inches it never changes as I stand a little further with eyes inside even though I'm 5'8 so it equates to a 35 inch putter. Absolutely hate that happened to you at Club Champion I've heard a lot of bad stories about Club Champion but seeing their commercials and inventory and it all looks most excellent plus not many people have the sam putter lab.... That's terrible that happened to you I don't know if it was Club Champion or Odyssey or what but I've heard lots of bad things about club champion screwing up to be fair I've heard things about a lot of Manufacturers screwing up even TaylorMade sending a lot of clubs with the wrong specs but I wish you the best what's the issue you're waiting on
another no nonsense review by Sophie. The best
I’ve got this putter, but with a2 ball alignment with a black line through it. It’s simply brilliant!
Mallet - Spider X- big change a year ago from 30 year old Ping Zing 2! That said both are great putters. Nice review, thx👍
This putters edges get knicked easily, especially without a head cover, but performance wise it is a great choice.
