When you've spent years grooving your putting stroke with a particular style of putter, this may not be earth shattering technology. Which is why we may not see these everywhere on tour. But for those of us weekend warriors, this technology seems to be actually really helpful. Think I might consider it. Thanks for choosing the hottest thing on the market to review and giving us your honest feedback. Much appreciated!
Yes because you have practiced with it. When you find that it will not magically sink every putt you will have regrets over being drawn I by advertising to buy it.
@@colinc.8742lol or he’s not stupid and already knows he won’t turn into Brad Faxon because of it and he’ll be perfectly fine improving even a little bit because of it
A couple of months ago I was custom fit remotely directly with LAB at 72 degree lie angle, counterbalanced option with heavier head at 36 inches with the 17 in 3.0 SS LAB grip. Got the NN marking alignment. Their is no need to manipulate the head, the face stays square to the target. By far the best putter I've ever used and I've been golfing over 30 years.
@@BillRicke I actually got a stock DF3 which isn’t quite my specs but man, it would be hard to use another putter after this. It’s just so fundamentally different than every other putter. It’s really awesome
This putter is very good. The ball goes where it’s aimed, all you need to do is pick the right line and speed. I dropped a full stroke on my index (3 to 2) and was considered a good putter prior.
Always been a blade guy. Did a putter fitting just for fun at the beginning of this season. Fitter suggested trying out the DF3. Even though I still think it looks like a toilet seat, I cannot argue with the results. My putting has significantly improved. Lab putters are legit. Put your ego aside and get one if you struggle with the short stick.
I was skeptical when I first saw the LAB putters, but this is one case where the hype is absolutely 100% true. The first day I took out my new DF3, I was draining 10-20 footers, to the amazement of my buddies. I was just hoping to get a slight improvement to my putting but it has been way bigger than that. You nailed the couple points I found, which is that the 5-6 footers drop so much easier now. And it’s easier to get a good stance and alignment by placing the putter flat on the ground. I found the stock model worked for me as well. Wish I knew about the 15% coupon code, that’s a killer deal!
Just played my first round with the DF3. Game changer, if you can read a putt line, but have trouble hitting the right line, this is the putter for you.
I watched my brother in law over two days make almost every putt within 10 feet. I’ve played golf with him over 40 years and have never seen him so consistent.
I just bought a df2.1 2 weeks ago, went to the pga store and played with one for an hr or 2 while a buddy was getting fitted, i was sinking puts across the putting green i never would have with my old putter. The hype is real haha its amazing!!!!!!
Might pick one of these up when the annual bonus hits this year… What I appreciate about them is that they’re explaining the physics/technology in a way that makes sense. Makes me trust them a little more than other brands saying things like “TWIST FACE WILL KEEP THE BALL STRAIGHT” and I just have to take their word for it.
They are incredible. You won't regret it as long as you give yourself time to adjust. Practicing with your thumbs off the grip really helped me speed up that process.
I bought this putter in the spring. After the summer, I can confirm that it is a cheat code. Pretty sure based on all the people I played with this year, that by next spring I will see a bunch of new LAB's at my course next spring.
@ I did the online fitting and spent a bit of time emailing back and forth to satisfy myself that it was good. They were very responsive and not just 2 word answers either. Full on conversations and explanations. I went full monte with the TPT shaft. I figured if I was going to jump I’d jump high:). I’ve just finished my first summer with it. I was just telling my wife I think there will be a bunch of them on my course next year. I’m still amazed at how good this thing is. The fit was perfect.
I have a DF3 and love it. I would agree with you that I have also struggled with distance control but that is down to time and practice not the putter!
I've used a DirectedForce (what LAB used to be called) for about five years. About two years in I was considering selling my old, expensive, putter. Just for the heck of it I took it out for nine holes. The thing literally felt "alive" in my hand. All the tiny movements that the LAB putter had taken out of the stroke were put back in. I've never used anything but the lie-angle-balanced putter since. One downside: if you play in really strong winds the putter is large enough to to act a little like a sail. Still, I am a huge fan.
I tried a few putts with this putter last week. Putting is my strongest part of the game and I use an evnroll putter. The lab putter was really nice to putt with and I will try to test it again and possibly buy one.
A friend of mine has the Mezz. That is the nicest looking and feeling putter I’ve ever tried. If I ever think about getting a new putter that’s probably the way I’ll go.
I have the broomstick DF3 and I’ve been playing this game for 40 years and I have never rolled the ball so good …putting was the worst part of my game. Gamechanger
Have a Mezz Max coming. I emailed LAB about a Jailbird-style rear window alignment marker for the DF3. This would make the DF3 the putter to end all putters.
I've been looking at this putter all summer... My putting is so inconsistent, but for me it's more a speed issue than line. I do like a heavier feeling putter. Still unsure. This video is prompting me to go try one!
I've really been looking into getting this putter after reading the Mygolfspy forum review and all of the other videos I've seen. I'm gaming a $99 Costco putter so I assume I should see an improvement as my Achilles heal are those 3 putts. Please do a head to head with your current gamer from differing distances. I know the biggest feedback people note is 10ft and in distance, closer in more automatic.
I want to like this putter. I’ve seen a lot of people switch to it and it’s become the “in” thing. I’ve been in my local golf store multiple times and I try it pretty much every time I go in there. I like the grip; it feels high quality and comfortable. However, the face feels too soft for me and the head feels hollow when striking the ball. Also, I’ve been using the Phantom X12 for the past year, and it’s got a pretty long alignment aid. Perhaps I’ve gotten too used to it, making the DF3 harder for me to align. I find myself second guessing my alignment much more frequently. All that said, those are all “me” problems. I’m sure many will find the DF3 (or other L.A.B. Putters) very helpful; I’m just not there yet. Maybe someday.
You can get a custom alignment line through the back. Feel is tougher. The Accra is known to be the softest but the others will probably not change all that much. I think it feels very solid. Maybe try the PXG Allan or the Evnroll Zero line.
@@AlabamaGolfer 🤣 Yup. I ordered a Mezz Max and then had the putting round of the year with my Toulon. Not sure what I'm gonna do when the Mezz Maxx arrives. 😅
I'm going to need a follow up video with some data. It's too expensive for me to just buy a custom club online and hope it works. That's the only thing holding me back.
haha yeah I realized that after the fact. I had only one day last week to get out with products, and also just happened to be reviewing PXG balls that day...
I tested the Allen, it’s DEFINITELY not a LAB. And I do not own a LAB! The Allan is not quite balanced, when you put it on your finger like you would to check toe hang, it rolls to the same position every time, the LAB stays put on your finger however you set it on there!
I haven't heard that yet, but will look into it! Would be a huge plus for them if they do - I know thats a sticking point for a bunch of people (myself included).

Too much money for the easiest part of golf! People can swing a iron 70plus mph and hit the ball in the middle of the club and drop it with in 10 yards of target 150 yards away. But a very small and slow swing less than 2ft. And we can't hit the ball in the middle of the clubface. People stop thinking and just putt the ball Geez

It’s not just ‘speed’. You still have to pick the right line. It just helps remove the ‘missing the intended line’.
