- I tried to guess how long each of these Korean learners has been studying Korean, and I was shocked by their answers.

Wow Hyunwoo Sun sounds like a native! After studying for 43 years, his hardwork paid off! :D
진짜! 😆
Billy would probably say 7 weeks while I'm 5 years in 😭
I was thinking something along the lines of this too… I hit the beginner plateau unfortunately.
@@paulwalther5237 me as well
MEEE
I'm also trying, just trying.. 1.5 years now and I can't even make a sentence 😅
I believe that it depends on how long we practice speaking and using the language that's why it's quite hard to judge the level with speaking only maybe? That's what I think because I could always understand and talk to myself better than when trying to use What I know!ㅠㅠ
This was so much fun! The second person surprised me, probably helped that they've got a Korean partner to practice with on a daily basis. Hopefully I can reach that level, I'm just starting my journey!
YOU CAN DO ITT!! IM ALSO LEARNING TOOO
화이팅! ♥
Ooh Hyunwoo Sun for studying Korean for 43 years you Almost sound like a native!!
I’ve been studying Korean by myself everyday for 2+ years but I’m nowhere near some of these people in speaking although I did understand most of the questions and answers without translations so yay baby steps 😅
Saaaame same same.
8:12 HyunWoo trolling like always 🤣
Eyyy thank you so much for the meet-up Billy!!
Master ! Hyunwoo 😂 appearance in your video was great . You two have played big role in my Korean 감사합니다.
I don't know but watching this video makes me have the hope of becoming better and to actually take my Korean learning more seriously. I love this video.
The ending is the BOMB 😂😂😂 현우 쌤이랑 빌리 쌤 케미가 진짜 미친
Thank you billy for this fan meetup! Hopefully we will see each other at the next one I’ll show you how much I improved 💪
What a dream to be in a youtube video with one of my favorite youtubers! Thank you for the fun meetup Billy!
i've been learning for about a month now, i'm about halfway through your first korean made simple book and have been watching your free beginner course as well:) just taking my time and enjoying it! i find myself practicing sounds and words under my breath without even thinking about it now. what was very eye opening to me as someone who's struggled to find a career i enjoy was looking up "korean translator jobs" and i was awestruck at the possibility unveiled by just that. it motivates me and makes me excited to learn more, i'm making sure not to read too far ahead and not to stress out. i live near pittsburgh, a city where there are a lot of koreans studying abroad, and it would be cool if i could someday meet some friends i could learn from when i'm at the level i could actually approach them with speech. there are also a number of korean restaurants and i want to go soon and immerse myself in the food. the pork belly sounds delicious.
Thank you so much for this video! I've been getting the impression that everyone is magically fluent after 2 years and here I am struggling after 3 whole years. This video showed me how it's so different for everyone. Good luck to all the lovely people you interviewed
대박!!^^ 이 영상 너무 재미있어요.
다들 얼마나 오랫동안 공부했는지 알게 되니까 동기부여가 되는 것 같아요.
다음에 또 만들어주세요 ❤
This was so much fun to watch! All people did amazing, my hands would've been shaking hahahaha.
So as long as I study Korean for another 41 years I will sound just as good as Hyunwoo!
(I'd better live a loooooong time lol)
This video is so much fun to watchj! I love how specific your guesses are! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun!
This was fun to watch. I have been trying to self learn Korean for about 1 year and if you would have asked me those questions, I would have had no idea what you were saying. Needless to say... self learning is very difficult and obviously takes much longer if you cannot dedicate proper amount of time/hours every single day. It also helps if you have people who speak Korean to help you along... sadly I have no Korean friends or other people learning Korean near me. I'll try harder going forward!
I have been studying for 9 months. It was very inspiring watching everyone at their different levels of their language journeys.
I’m at 5 years but I didn’t do much output (input I did a lot but it’s hard 😂). I think I’d come in at 1.5 years. I can see there’s a huge difference between people learning on their own as a hobby outside Korea and people who have lived there.
Second guy was so cool.
I wish a handsome man like him was single though! Amazing Korean ability
so good they speak well!!
loved Hanwoo interview...😂😂
I was surprised to see Hanwoo from TTMIK... 😅 fun interview.
I started my journey nearly 5 years ago but sadly still consider myself a beginner 🙈
this is such a good episode! it makes us the learners know that we are all having our own phase...
너무 웃기고 재미있어요. ㅋㅋㅋ 현우 씨 등장하는 게 빵이 터졌어요. 항상 영상을 올려줘서 고마워요! ❤Go! Billy 최고! 저는 한 4년동안 한국어 독학으로 공부했는데요.
Idk but I was feeling so proud of myself because I understood everything they said and can speak like them and I studied properly only for 4 months last year and this motivated me to start again
Billy keep making videos like this :)
When I see hyunwoo - 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Learning Korean by oneself is sooo difficult. It's been just one year for me, I can understand the questions and answers but woud have had a hard time answering by myself...
So I've been accepted in the King Sejong institute of my country and will begin Korean with a teacher in September. I'm looking forward to it!!
How true. I have been learning for several (I won’t say how many) years, totally on my own. I’m 75 years old so if I don’t learn soon it will be too late😢
@@UkOutreach It's NEVER too late. I'm 47. Keep on the good work. Your brain will thank you! 💪
I’m 13 years old and I think I’m gonna to be fluent in 1 year even tho I’m dumb 💀💀
It's September! How's your classes going so far? Or is it too early? 🤔
@@ToperPerson Great, thanks! Indeed I already made some progress in Korean. My teacher likes to go very fast, and that's good I had some basis 😆
As soon as I saw Hyunwoo-선생님 I laughed way too hard xD
Wow Maria grew up so well! 🩷 Her Korean too
Being in Busan explains her liking 돼지국밥ㅎㅎ thought you were going you say that
Then Hyunwoo Sun appeared the most overqualified learner😅😅😂😂 that was funny though
Hyunwoo and Billy.... LEGENDS!
He’s just completely guessing lol this is awesome. Almost 2 years for me and I’m mid to advanced intermediate, depending on the skill!
Been studying for 3 years but it wasn't the right study environment and routine so my level is probably at like 3-4 months (1A) really frustrating but it's whatever I suppose. So I am restarting with a new study plan in September, maybe end of August. I want to be in the 3 levels in a year at least.
I have been studying on my own now for 2.5 years and no where near as good as they all were! But I'll keep on studying and will get better at my own pace!
OMG… love that you had Hyunwoo at the end!😂🤣💜
Hahaha so funny, where is the second part 😂
I would like it if you interview me too ❤😂 Since you are my teacher from the beginning ㅋㅋㅋ
nice collaboration with TTMIK :))
i’m great at writing in korean, partically fluent, but i haven’t practiced my speaking at all so billy would’ve most definitely said 7 weeks even tho i’m 1 year in💀
When I went to Busan in April everyone spoke English haha. Maybe preparing for Expo Busan? 😂
It really depends on where you went. Some areas are really not much different than Seoul as far as some things go (like English speaking).
Fan meet up? I was literally there 2 weeks ago!! 😭 ahhh
Rob is a god
This is so fun to watch .. I also want to speak korean ❤
Studied a total of 2 months now :D in october, took a break and last month august started again till now
I'm a lazy person who gets easily distracted to do other things instead of learning but im trying to learn everyday for atleast 15min ( 2 episodes of the beginners guide, atm at episode 71
This reminds me of going to a language Japanese language meetup one Tokyo and one Japanese guys tutored foreigners and thought he could guess my level. He put me at N4 which is upper beginner but I had passed N2 which is upper intermediate. I was crestfallen. 😂
Was he guessing based on your speaking skills? It's because JLPT is quite a passive test that focuses mostly on comprehension, so some people are able to pass even JLPT N2 and N1 with below average speaking and writing skills. If you have a strong accent or speak slowly people will assume your level is lower too. It is very hard to do output if you don't live in Japan.
I think the Korean exam (TOPIK) is slightly better in that it does have a written component but it still doesn't have a speaking exam.
@@ami4511 yeah you’re right about all of it. I told myself not to worry because I still had a piece of paper saying I passed. 😂
I'm a fan of Hyunwoo since many years, but I could never have guessed that he was this old actually. Just because he still looks so handsome!
Was able to get close on most guesses. About 4 years for me
I have been learning by myself for one week now it's kinda hard but i will get there.
I believe that it depends on how long we practice speaking and using the language that's why it's quite hard to judge the level with speaking only maybe? That's what I think because I could always understand and talk to myself better than when trying to use What I know!ㅠㅠ
I don't remember exactly how long I've been studying Korean, but I'd say maybe half a year, if not a full year now, and I've enjoyed the journey! :D
Not hyunwoo too HHAHAHAHAHA 😂
I have been studying korean for 1 year and 3 months ❤
I was so surprised to see Hyunwoo 😂😂😂😂
I am learning self introduction here, where are you from and many more.
한국말을 넘 잘하셔서 놀랐습니다. 청양고추는 한국 사람들도 매워하는 식품 입니다.
i started last month :3 it's very fun and challenging
Haha 현우 씨 part was fun😂 he looks much younger😮
he’s from TTMIK right?
저는 2년 동안 한국어를 공부하겠습니다🤗🤗
I don't think you'd ever guess how long ive been studying i know the most randomest koorean words lol
I really think you'd say 2-3 years if you heard me speak but im only 14months in
Hahaha so fun haha
2 years! I wish I was as good as the other people studying for 2 years!
This discouraged the heck out of me😅
와 어떻게 아셨나요 !?
Hyunwoo cracked me 😂
I've learned korean for 30 years.
와… 현우 씨처럼 한국어를 말하고 싶어요 😳 제가 43년 후 한국어를 잘할 거예요 ㅋㅋ
I've been learning Korean almost 2 yrs but i feel like im still a beginner 😢
HE’S 43??? I assumed Hyunwoo was like 30 something😮
If Billy hears me he will guess 2 weeks instead of 2 years, the embarrassment
안녕하세요 선생님

(If anyone also can explaine it in persian It would be very great)
ua-cam.com/video/E2jrWqBDilM/v-deo.html
