I know this is an old video and this isn't the focus of the video...but it's 100% possible to reproduce the artwork on the computer. However, you should use Illustrator (or other vector software). If you haven't already, learn to use the pen tool to its *full* *potential* . It is invaluable and I use it everyday to make quick work of precise masking and logo reproduction/etc. Another thing to consider: I can digitize unique type when it isn't made with guides and not have problems with the flow of the line. But that's only because of how many times I do it every week. It is exponentially easier for anyone to do, if you first make sure your original sketch was done using guides. This holds true even if you use only the sharpie artwork.
Thank you so much for this video.i bought a silhouette cameo 2 years ago and never got the hang of it because there was no good videos on UA-cam. They all showed how to make other things but the reason I bought it was to make these types of stickers. I was going to sell my cameo because I wasn’t motivated lol but u change that’s for me man. 🙏. Will save this for later. I’m an og sub from way back. Keep it up!
u can use a hair blower or heat gun (low heat setting) to warm the vinyl plastic and make it stick and adjust to the surface properly if there is any bump
shit, I've been making decals with my Cameo, but, I've just been going through the thousands of fonts* logo creator programs to do so. Never thought of drawing from scratch! Great vid!
I'm sure those very familiar with the Silhouette Studio could follow along at your pace of explanation. For me just learning, I was still lost after watching it three times. Maybe I should just look for easier to follow videos.
I may be prematurely asking this as I'm not far into the video yet but what file do you need to use for the machine to read your picture? I use affinity photo not Photoshop and wondering if it will work.
@@S1VE Sweet! I've been meaning to get into mod'ing Hot Wheels, and currently don't have the budget for pad printing or a laser printer that can use white ink. Appreciate everything you share!
Hey bro nice job by the way but I’m fresh on all this “sticker making stuff” and so far learned everything I know about it from UA-cam lol.. still trying to figure out how to get my drawing into the grid thingy.. keeps telling me that the resolution isn’t high enough!.. it’s pretty simple design not really sure how to progress from there, thanks for the help.
The software keeps crashing for me no matter what I do saying Bluetooth failed I have an old machine that doesn’t even use Bluetooth it sucks as I have so many supplies that I can’t use
I just found your video and thank you for the tutorial (a year later LOL). I'm having issues with applying transfer tape so that the letters stick to the tape. I actually use clear shelving paper (with adhesive) and it's been working great. However, the Silhouette Vinyl has a VERY sticky back making it difficult for the letters to adhere to the transfer tape. Any suggestions? Also, you list the transfer tape in your details, but is it for the clearer tape or the more opaque tape? Also, do you purchase your vinyl through this distributor, and it it comparable to Silhouette product (which is very expensive and you can't use 40% OFF coupons from Hobby Lobby or Michaels.) So... I'm trying to find a more inexpensive route, but not "cheaper" as in bad product. I realize that was a lot to write, but any help you can provide would be great! Thanks again!
Great video! Why did you use a stroke when tracing in illustrator? It looks like a lot of your 'mistakes' came from that. Use the pen tool and a fill with no stroke to get a solid, clean looking piece.
Hmm I cant say I have a real reason, besides I just have always defaulted to that stroke. I will definitely give it a try next time around. Thank you for the suggestion.
What should I save/export my design as in illustrator or photoshop so that it doesn’t print in bad resolution or does vector just do that on its own?Btw nice tutorial really straight forward
how large of a sticker can this cut out? And how much does a setup like this cost, inclusively? Or would another setup be more appropriate for a novice, partly just for fun, partly as a side gig? been thinking about pullin the trigger for a number of years but never knew enough about it to make a confident purchase... very nice tutorial btw, very professional and fairly easy to follow. Good job guy!
What software are you using at the beginning of this video to edit your writing? ...the ol lady has had one of these cameos for a couple years and never uses it so I am going to teach myself how to use it!
Thanks man great video I’m a graffiti artist myself haven’t when bombing in forever but that’s besides the point but I’ll be subscribing brother thanks again DRIKONE MIA 1134.....
I don't even make stickers and i watched this just because your tutorials are so damn good and smooth.

Great idea, I will have to give that a try
Awesome tutorial and information. Detailed and at a great pace. Thank you so much!!
Jen Parker my pleasure! Glad you enjoyed

Dope work man. Thanks for the lesson.
Thank this is the best learning video I’ve seen for a beginner. But I want to use the vinyl stickers for painting then the vinyl can be removed
Yeah you can definitely do it
Just got a used Silhouette and want to start making decals...Great video and thanks! Can you provide a link for the transfer tape you use?
Mate use illustrator rather than photoshop it’s so much easier.
Definitely
If you know how to use ps it doesnt matter
@@rizen3467 Yeah fair enough. Just saying its easier to use a design program for design and a photo editing program for ...
『 ЯiΖΞΝ 』 ps poopoo for thus
@@Cammtom hey man. Any link for this? I want to see the illustrator version
Digging the longer video! I like seeing the process and taking tips
loads of content here, I tried to pace it well because there was so much
It came out well! Still watching but seems real good
Haha try and find the Easter egg

Use illustrator bro it's better for cutting plotters because they trace vector lines
A labor of love indeed.. this is a lot of work! Lol
You save my money!
Thanks bro I’m about to try 💯🙏🏽
Thank you for this !
I want to buy a printer just to make vinyl and regular stickers as well. What is this printer? Anyone have any tips?
This is called a Silhouette Cameo mine has held strong for thousands of stickers, would definitely recommend.
@@S1VE thank you! My daughter lovessss stickers.and i figure this is a cool way to create stuff together.
The nectar sticker!!!!!!
😉😉
This is amazing lol. I didn’t know you could actually use photoshop to fix your lines and make it more defined.
Glad you enjoyed!
Just a tip. You can actually set the setting for the desired material your using and just set up the blade to what it says.
Could u recommend a good starting machine and editing software for a beginner
The silhouette cameo is great! Not a ton of heavy lifting on the editing side but the onboard software is great to get started with
This is a great video. Thank you!
Don’t you waste a bunch of transfer tape the way you do it by leaving a bunch to just stick to the table?
🔥🔥🔥
Oh man I gotta try it :)
These are well worth it! hard to beat the pop these type of stickers have
I may be prematurely asking this as I'm not far into the video yet but what file do you need to use for the machine to read your picture? I use affinity photo not Photoshop and wondering if it will work.
Corey Beck just export it as a jpeg or png and it will work fine
Thanks for this video
I looooooove stickers! Need the cameo 💜
Your voice is nice to listen to
Hi do you print out fashion designer fonts for... So for instance, i want to print out the individual letters for gucci but i want the actual font.
google around for the font. lots of bootleg ones out there for free
Your video is very instructional, you really make it look easy. This is how I'm going to promote my channel
omg i need dis thank u
I know this is an older video but I just brought a cameo and the 1st one, what software are you running as I don’t have the disk
I run silhouette studio. You should be able to grab a free copy on their website
It will worth the investment to open my web site instead of offer Decal services on craiglist, facebook, eatsy, wish ebay etc?
What is the name of the clear transfer tape?
Love your work
What do you call that adhesive cutting board you got there?
its a cutting mat
So useful and so awesome. Loving ur stuff and keep it up.
atta boy benz
Would it be possible to use these decals as stencils for model kits?
EasterlyArt yessiree! They work awesome for that

Yo! Great video. Would you mind sharing the brand of vinyl you used?
I get most of mine from hhsign supply. their in house brand is cheap and great

If you have photoshop try just scaling the image up and see if that works. You could also add a filter like a threshold
Thats dope man
Give it a try!
The software keeps crashing for me no matter what I do saying Bluetooth failed I have an old machine that doesn’t even use Bluetooth it sucks as I have so many supplies that I can’t use
Hey bro what type of vinyl material is that called?
This is just typical adhesive vinyl. I have the source linked in the description too
Good video man!
first video like this i'm seeing, love it very helpful,do more please,
Just posted something in a very similar vain actually, give it a look ua-cam.com/video/IDYQskeVRuY/v-deo.html

Where did you get your plotter from?
This is an old one from silhouette cameo

Which silhouette cameo are u using? 1, 2, or 3?
Number 1, but the process should be identical for all of the rest.
cool thanks
I wanna make stickers for rc planes just for myself and maybe some friends any reccomendations on a machine please guys
this could work but might be a little tough depending on how small you go. You could try like inkjet vinyl.
This sounds stupid cause I think I know the answer. what editing software do you use and what is the latest computer it runs on
I run photoshop on windows 10
What should I save/export my design as in illustrator or photoshop so that it doesn’t print in bad resolution or does vector just do that on its own?Btw nice tutorial really straight forward
Matt McIntosh depending on the plotter your using some have plugins for illustrator like my Roland
So I need to purchase some sort of digital cutting machine correct?
yes they are cold plotters. Silhouette cameo is a great entry level one.
IISIVEII thank you for the fast response 👍
IISIVEII would it be possible to make throwie stickers? How would u get the outline color and the fill color
for sure!
yes it i... oddly enough I'm releasing a video in an hour detailing the process, stay posted
What machine do you use?
Smeczy Decks silhouette cameo, been working great for 5+ years
Thanks
Do you know how to do 2 color vinyl? With the same machine?
Sure do! Even have a tutorial on it:ua-cam.com/video/KmruUULBKQA/v-deo.html
It’s time to decorate my switch.
If i lived at home i would try this now

The machine runs a bit over 200 and can cut up the 12" wide. Works great for small operations. Mine is at least five years old with no complaints.
What Photoshop file extension did you save it as when you designed it in PS?
where do you buy vinyl
Totally forgot to mention that! I order all of mine through www.hhsignsupply.com/productcart/pc/GT5-Intermediate-Vinyl-c435.htm
Do you have to draw the designs always? Or can you take a picture of something and edit it
photos work great as a base through photoshop

What program were you using?
, the one before silhouette studio.
That program was photoshop
IISIVEII oh alright thank you!!!
it s lit
Hi can we use sublimation printer on that vinyl to print images then cut it on cameo?
Sure can! I do it all the time for kiss cut stickers
Like we will print it on sublimation paper then transfer to vinyl sticker? sorry newbie on doing sticker.
hmm I am not too familiar with that style of printing for vinyl. Most digital vinyl printers are direct to the substrate.
Id like to use this to make stickers and stencils for airbrushing
Damn!!!
sick dude...you should make more screen printing videos!
You might predict the future, I have some new projects coming up real soon with lots of screen printing.
Dope
Thanks for checking it out
Not bad. I don't have cricut, yet I still can get my lovely sticker. come and check it out.
What is your cutting machine called? And how much was it?
silhouette cameo and they run about $150
What program did you use to make it on the computer ?
photoshop and silhouette studio
can you use book contact instead of transfer tape???
Not sure, always worth a shot though
dope
I've tried watchin this two times. Both I fell asleep.
Thanks!
How do people put multiple colors on. For example like a sticker of an anime person
I actually made a tutorial on that a few days ago, check it out ua-cam.com/video/KmruUULBKQA/v-deo.html
laser cutter give pro results.
Not with vinyl it's seriously dangerous
Omg how do I get my hands on a pack?
check em out at sive.bigcartel.com
U still sale stickers?
Can you print pictures?
Not directly with this plotter but I have some other methods that can
Hi
You should do HOW TO be so Toy vids. Keep it100
Bro can i send you a design and have u print me some slaps for some money plz
Bro I wish I was your buddy 😔
Not sticker bombing?

😍💪💪👍🤗
u can customize controllers with this too
You could but I think the heat from your hands would soften the adhesive over time
