How To Make a Stamp | Graffiti Throwie on Stickers

  • In this video I go over the process of cutting your own stamp with a rubber or linoleum block. Overall this is a pretty cheap process that allows you to mass produce a printed image. I drew a throwie that I wanted to print on stickers and envelopes.
    Check out the speedball products I used in this video:www.amazon.com/Speedball-Supe...
    To cut your own stamp you will need a lino cutting tool, a carving block and roller brayer. First draw your design on paper and then darken the lines with a pencil. Take the rubber carving block and press the drawing right onto it. The design will look mirrored when looking at the stamp.
    Cut away any area that the pencil design does not cover. This will leave your original drawing lines as the area printed by the stamp. Use different sized carving tools to cut away small or large areas.
    Roll out the ink using the Brayer, making sure to use a very little amount of ink. They roll the inked brayer onto the stamp. Flip the stamp and press it evenly onto your medium. I liked to use a book or something uniform and sturdy to press my block down. Simply repeat 1000 times to print your image everywhere.

    Put the plate on a solid surface and put the sticker on top (basically upside down to what you did) and rub with a spoon . You'll be able to control the pressure a lot more easily, and get really consistent prints. Also try using srtists battleship grey lino, harder to cut but much crisper lines and more detail too.

    With the upside down method you can use a spoon to press on the paper in more specific spots to try and get more clear prints without putting too much pressure in the spots you don’t want to blow out.

    Don’t roll back and forth you’ll push Ink into your design apply ink in one direction and then turn your block and do it again

      hmm, so do it only in a forward motion? Do you also switch the direction you start with?

    • @TheMxboy199
      @TheMxboy199 5 років тому

      IISIVEII I like to do it towards me rather than away from me and don’t switch directions like don’t pull it towards you and then push it away from you because again you could push ink where you don’t want it

      IISIVEII I find it also helps if you ink it vertical and then switch to horizontal if that makes sense and you’re still inking towards yourself when you do that
