- We're SO excited about this new trail! We've never seen this corner of our property before because we had no way to access it, but now we can! I'm pumped about the foraging opportunities, too.

THANK YOU for being here!!
You two!!! This is incredible and a ton of work! I will follow this all the way as it is so cool to see your homestead come into being! I love it. What a team you are❤
Thanks so much!! We’re having so much fun out here!
Your fruit and veggie garden is going to have some great leaf mulch. You will need to get to those wild blueberries before the bears. 😬🐻
Haha yup! We’ve seen a lot of signs of our resident bear (scat, claw marks), so hopefully we don’t have any a run-in during blueberry season!
Never ending exploration!
Love it!!! ☺️☺️
Do you plan on doing prescribed burns for forest management? You two are amazing! One of my favorite channels and Instagram accounts.
We don’t have any plans for that yet, but I think it’s valuable for sure! Thanks so much for being here ☺️🫶🏼
🎉❤SWEET!!! You two are SO cute. I love everything you're doing! 😊
Thank you! We’re having a blast out here ☺️
Oh you two are so cute!!! "Not as young as you used to be"....come on, you two are spring chickens compared to me!!! I planted in the garden all day yesterday and yeah....I am feeling it today....its a good burn :) I am your neighbor in southwest MN :) You two should plan one of those homesteading conferences for MN! I'd be a helper :) It would be fun!
Haha you are too kind!!! We’re feeling it, too! We need to get back into homesteading shape after a looooong winter 😅
Don’t wait to long to chip/shred the brush, I didn’t get back to a couple of piles until 4-5 months later and the brush was soft and wouldn’t run through the chipper properly.
Oh no!! Good to know! We still have all of our piles from cleaning up our trails last year too 🫠🫠
Good morning from Forest Lake Minnesota!! Looking great you guys!!
Morning! Thank youuuuuuu!!!
Really enjoying watching your channel, guys.
We have a small acreage probably not far from you…we are up closer to Duluth.
Thanks for sharing all the vids of your land work/projects….👍👍👍
Thanks for being here!!
I rented a Stihl weed wacker with the circular blade/chainsaw teeth. Very efficient! 👍🤠 Would probably be a good investment for your property.
Oooooo that would be so nice!!!
Love the music you picked for this video. To bad y'all didn't have an attachment for the skid steer that would mulch everything in its path would have made easy work of a new trail. But at least you all got out there enjoyed the day and getting some exercise. Great video!
That attachment would be so nice! It’s not in the budget right now, unfortunately; trying to save up for a wood chipper first! We don’t mind the work 🙌🏼
@@thehomesteadingrd The attachment for the skid steer does the same thing as a wood chipper does, chips wood.
@@musicvibes017 Hmmm the wood chipper attachment we are looking at (WoodMaxx) is a feed option, so you have to chop the brush down first and manually feed it in. What you're talking about sounds almost like a lawn mower x wood chipper! That sounds pretty handy, too!
@@thehomesteadingrd Not only is the woodchipper attachment handy for the skid steer but you aren't just limited to a woodchipper stationary system like a traditional wood chipper is stationary or you can move it around I guess. But the skid steer option not only allows you to create wood chips, but it also allows you to clear paths for trails, clear farm plots fo hunting etc.
It would just make better sense to have a tool that gets the same outcome as a woodchipper does, but has multifunctionality.
Also the skid steer attachment woodchipper allows you to mulch down 8" diameter trees as well into wood chips :)
Where do you buy your compost and dirt from? We are also located in the north woods of MN and need to find a good supplier. Thanks!
We grab dirt from our own property, but I get compost in bulk (beyond what I already produce myself) from a local raw milk farm
Bears.....YIKES.....please tell me you carry a gun!!
Where in the world are you guys
