High Hopes from Division Bells album was the latest album released at that time ! was exited to see that in that concert ! was in the last part of the show and with the visual on that round movie screen ! how can one forget that show ? lol ! 😋
You need to keep your eyes on the show. Everything they do, everything they put in the show is for you. Floyd wants to give you a visceral experience. You definitely need to react to the Keep Talking.
I was a 18 year old stagehand for all 3 days of the 1987 Dallas shows at Reunion Arena and the Texas stadium shows 1988 one off show and the 1994 back to back shows
Back in O.C. Calif when I was 30 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a P.F. show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station (KMET - LA, “The Mighty Met”) to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio Cynthia Fox…. said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"... I met David Gilmour back stage. He gave us both a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I told him his music will stand the test of time with anything from Beethoven or Mozart. He smiled even bigger. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. Hard to explain how awesome that moment was in my life. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. . I told him in my eyes he’s a “Legend“. He thanked me and said “Enjoy the show”…. during the concert after the song “Money” he looked right at me and said…. “On saxophone, another Legend, Mr. Raphael Ravenscroft” … acknowledging my comment to him. It is my favorite moment in over 300 shows I’ve seen. I asked David…. How do you create those awesome solos?… he said….. I sit on a stool and listen to what Roger, Nick and Rick put down and play along. I listen to what I played and pick out what I like, then I put the pieces together into one piece then learn to play it as one. Our fans are fanatics for our shows to sound like the albums so I must play it correctly each time in a show. I have the concert Brochure and album on the wall with David’s picture centerfold. All of us fortunate enough to have seen this show live were in a TRANCE.... MESMERIZED the entire show... as you can imagine. We walked out saying.... What did we just witness? That was out of this world incredible. The Red Fender Stratocaster he used for this concert in the Guitar Collector World is ....PRICELESS
Thanks for reacting to this one. It's my personal favorite from the Pulse concert, but you really can't go wrong with anything from it. I also really like 'Keep Talking.' Like 'Sorrow', it isn't a hit song, but it has a vibe that is really cool, in my opinion, with more guitar wizadry from David Gilmour, of course. If you react to that one, also pay attention to how much the background singers add to the song. 'Run Like Hell' is great, too (it's the closer).
This was from the Division Bell Tour in 1994. I saw them on that tour on April 14 in San Diego in Jack Murphy Stadium. The crowd was 51,610 people. The average ticket price for the show was $30. I basically had the worse seats in the house, 4 rows from the last row - furthest from the stage. But still, it was the best concert I ever saw. The big takeaways were the sound of Gilmour’s guitar and the light show. I still can’t believe how good the band sounded from those terrible seats. Thank you for the reaction. Great stuff. Consider watching “Shine on You Crazy Diamond” live from the same (Pulse DVD) concert.
Hi ! When the double album came out in stores i bought it of course ! It was the most unique album i ever seen and owned ! it was a hard cardboard case with pamphlets displaying pics of the show and 2 CDs and a red pulse light on the side of the case with the small battery tucked in the bottom of the case ! it pulsed for years ! wass a blue case ! maybe some music stores still have them or they can still order one if it s not discontinued ! look for it ! it s a good piece of collection ! Already told you i saw that concert ! lol

Love ‘Sorrow’, such a great track. Just a thought for you. If you want to have a amazing ‘Live’ experience of Pink Floyd’s music and you’ve never seen them before, then go and see ‘The Australian Pink Floyd Show’. They’re touring the USA this summer, 2023. (June 29th to September 24th, more dates being added though). And they are performing the whole of the ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ Album, in it’s entirety, to celebrate it’s 50th Anniversary. (1973-2023). Plus so much more, from many of Floyd’s other Albums. I’ve seen them about 15 times and they are phenomenal. The whole Band are absolutely incredible and they are highly recommended by David Gilmour himself. They even have one of Floyd’s former backing singers, Lorelei McBroom. All 3 of the girls are absolutely amazing. The musicianship, the light show, everything, is just awesome. The whole Band is sensational. We see them every year. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed. 🎶❤️🎶 Just my own feelings. 🎶🦘🎶
@@retroreactions.... They certainly have got plenty on UA-cam, Brandon. They’ve just started the ‘DarkSide 50’ Tour, this weekend, in France. Renowned as one of the best ‘Tribute Acts’ in the World. They replicate note for note perfection. And the light show and big screen visuals are amazing. When David Gilmour has them to play at his Birthday Celebrations and gets up and plays with them, plus Nick Mason says, “These guys are probably better than us”, then I doubt there’s better compliments than those. Affectionately known as ‘Aussie Floyd’, they were formed in 1988 in Australia. Yes, that’s how long they’ve been going. They sell out everywhere. We have our tickets for December, in the UK. Can’t wait. Just wanted to point you in their direction, seeing as they are heading to the US again in the summer. Then you’ll experience the closest thing possible, to seeing Pink Floyd Live. Pulse Kick ass...it was the number one show in the world in 1994...and with the complete album Dark Side of the moon...it was crazy...Check the album The Final Cut...the last album with the original members...regards from Chile..
@@retroreactions.... The whole album is very good, but I have to choose the songs The Gunner's Dream (I saw it live here with Roger Waters) and for David's solo The Final Cut song. Greetings.
Great choice again Brandon! I did see this tour back in ‘94, in Madison, Wisconsin. Was the most phenomenal show I’ve ever been to. Guy Pratt, the bass player took over after Roger Waters left the band. He was married to Richard Wrights daughter in the past now divorced. Guy now plays with Nick Mason and his “Saucer Full of Secrets” project. They play mostly the older, Syd Barret era Pink Floyd. I did see a comment about “The Australian Pink Floyd Show”. I’ve seen them 7-8 times and they’re as close to a true Pink Floyd show as you’ll get. You should definitely check them out if they make it to your area. Also there is “Brit Floyd” who is also currently touring. They have a couple of members formerly of the Australian Pink Floyd Show. Both bands have videos on UA-cam… you should check them out.
Thanks so much Dale for all the info. I should have known there are great tribute acts out there! Sounds like I have much to check out on my own time...
I just subscribed! Please keep up with Pink Floyd. The last concert I got to go to was "Buckethead", live at Sony Hall, in down town Manhattan, in 2019. You have to add Stevie Ray Vaughn, live at the Elmocambo, to your "Must Hear" and see list. One of the greatest guitarist's of my time.

About "Sorrow", I've heard someone say: "When Aliens from space once invade Earth, this will be the song, they'll play, before taking over!" (paraphrasing)
I am one of the lucky people who got to go to this concert in Earls Court, London, sadly not on the night of this recording but the night after, utterly amazing experience. You don't get half of it thru the video, as good as it is you can't feel the music hitting you, or the heat of the flares going off. I've been to a lot of concerts but this was the only one where the crowd just sat mesmerized almost unable to take it all in. There isn't a bad track there and it's hard to pick favourites but I really enjoyed "One of these days", and the closing number "Run like Hell" is an incredible light show so don't close your eyes so much! Then of course you can't miss one the greatest guitar solo's of all time in "Comfortably Numb".
So lucky you got to be there! I bet some people fainted or came close with sheer overwhelm!! Yes, I've reacted to 2 of those 3, but I know Run Like Hell is an EPIC closer!
@@retroreactions.... I was especially so because I phoned for tickets months before but it was sold out, on a whim I tried again a few weeks later and happened to call on the day they opened an extra section and grabbed two pretty good seats down the right side not too far back from the stage.
Primary rule... You never close your eyes during a live performance... EVER. Everything is masterfully interconnected. Lights with the special effects with the music. Everything is part of the story
i would suggest "one of these days" from the same concert because a) it is an instrumental and b) you see gilmour playing on something else, surprise 🙃
I discovered your channel today and I subscribed. So, I was excited when this reaction popped up! The previous tour (called A Delicate Sound of Thunder from 1988 is also fire). Please consider a reaction to "On The Turning Away" from that tour. It is another song from their 1987 album. It is 9 minutes long and very emotional. From what I have learnt so far from other reactions, it is right up your street. It is in HD and has been remastered: ua-cam.com/video/xEMy34qhQe4/v-deo.html
I was so stupid not to go but I saw the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour. Best live show I ever saw. Personally I'm less of a fan of their 80s stuff because it misses Waters (or Waters dominated the record with The Final Cut). Pink Floyd at their best is where there's a certain balance and everyone has moments to contribute and shine. Doesn't mean there aren't gems to be found at their records after 1979. And live, they were the best.
May you react to Pink Floyd, PULSE, Time, US and Them, or Great Gig in the Sky? But please, don't close your eyes. PULSE is a visual show too. Thank you.
Very hard to do a lot of live stuff, as I have probably hundreds of song requests already, but I will keep those in mind. I want to react to Time and Great Gig studio versions first for sure...Thanks
Hey wait, Time DOES exist with Pink Floyd.......and you haven't reacted to it yet. Also of potential interest to you Mr. keymaster, those synth triplets that give this song a kind of dance groove are buried much deeper in the studio mix, but the Pompeii 2016 performance brings them all the way to the front, and it actually kinda changes the whole texture of the song for me. You might give that a look on your TIME.
Do you play the key board (s) yourself, or have I misunderstood your meaning ? If you do like great keyboards, especially double and triple decked Hammond organs, then I recommend a live 1970 TV studio performance by Deep Purple. Sweat Child in Time. The band will blow your mind. Ian Gillans live vocals and controlled wails / screams will leave you speachless and mute. Jon Lords organ will mesmerise you..... he even squeezes in a bit of Flight of the Bumble Bea.
@@retroreactions.... If you can play, don’t hold back. Get you hands on a suitable Hammond and keyboards and just let yourself loose when you need to. Enjoy life when you can.... it is too short to waste any precious moments.

You need to keep your eyes on the show. Everything they do, everything they put in the show is for you. Floyd wants to give you a visceral experience. You definitely need to react to the Keep Talking.
I was a 18 year old stagehand for all 3 days of the 1987 Dallas shows at Reunion Arena and the Texas stadium shows 1988 one off show and the 1994 back to back shows
How cool is that!
omgawd the stories you must be able to tell. Tell me. Tell me NOW! lol (jk, but that's very cool!)
Wow, one of the most amazing stories I've ever heard! All by chance, but really it was meant for you to have that priceless night...
Thanks for the suggestions Sara! Appreciate you watching :)
I enjoy time travelling with you
Vancouver BC 1997 Awesome
🤘😛🤘
Good evening...... :)
@@retroreactions.... Good evening to you as well.... : )
Already told you i saw that concert ! lol
No way! So even their packaging is EPIC! And blue is my favorite color!
@@retroreactions.... I have the double CD/DVD and love the packaging, even though mine didn’t have the light. (😞) Blue is my favorite color, too, but you should check out one of their old songs called “Green is the Colour”… 1969. Dreamy song. ua-cam.com/video/4XeWngFZaa8/v-deo.html
Thanks!
@@retroreactions.... you’re welcome 👍🏼
Cool reaction mate as usual , seen them on the same tour in Rotterdam, Holland in sept 94 , age 20 .
5 full coaches/buses left Glasgow, Scotland early Friday morning for a day and a half in Amsterdam then onto the concert on the Sunday night in Feyenoord's stadium .
Best weekend of my life lol
Has to be the best live tour for music, lighting , performance and genius level ever staged.
Just my humble opinion though .
Peace mate
Awesome story...glad you got to attend!
Yay, finally. So glad you could bring it on to the party. I can’t listen to it right now because I’m driving back from Murrurundi New South Wales, so I’ll listen to it tonight when I get home. Well done. Good on you buddy
Nice. Drive safe, hope you enjoy the reaction!! 😊
@@retroreactions.... Home safe finally. 12.5hour day in the car. Going to watch it now!!!
Yay! Wow, that's a long drive! I could barely do 6 hours last year..Big respect to you!
@@retroreactions.... Yeah well when you live in a country as big as this you get used to driving long distances ! I'm so glad you liked this one from Pink Floyd. David, Richard and Nick wrote this album when they had settled the court case with Roger. Most of the lyrics were written by David's wife and It was an album that was well received and sold well. There are some great songs on it! Go through the comments below and read people's reactions who went to the concert. They tell of the guitar's power and Feedback at the beginning literally vibrating your whole body! Check them out! All the best and see you next time too!
Oh wow, interesting about Ginger? writing the lyrics....Wish I coulda been there! Sleep well, you've earned it! See you soon!
The best concert I never went to.😉.
No doubt in my mind!
🎶❤️🎶
Just my own feelings. 🎶🦘🎶
Wow, thanks for that recommendation! I hope they have stuff on UA-cam..
Definitely go, Brandon. I’ve seen Floyd tribute performances and they are spectacular.
Thanks!
Sensational.

Thanks!
I don't think that there's a weak moment in this concert. But yes, High Hopes is a must. Coming back to life also... But you can't go wrong really.
Thanks for this one!!
Thanks Pierre..
Pulse Kick ass...it was the number one show in the world in 1994...and with the complete album Dark Side of the moon...it was crazy...Check the album The Final Cut...the last album with the original members...regards from Chile..
Any song off Final Cut that is your fave? Hello to you all the way over in Chile! Really appreciate you watching and commenting :)
@@retroreactions.... The whole album is very good, but I have to choose the songs The Gunner's Dream (I saw it live here with Roger Waters) and for David's solo The Final Cut song. Greetings.
Thanks Carlos!
Listen to and watch the whole video pulse!! It'll blow your mind
Then there's Jeff Healy, who is blind and plays the lead guitar on his lap. I'm 64, so lived through the greatest age for music, car's, weed, and everything else. I envy you your journey!!
Thank you so much for subbing Christopher, welcome! Yes, tons more PF to discover, I react to them every week! Do you have a favorite SRV song?

( i'm woman 😎)
🥹😊💙
About "Sorrow", I've heard someone say: "When Aliens from space once invade Earth, this will be the song, they'll play, before taking over!" (paraphrasing)
😲
Awesome! Fate....
Bagpipes!!
@@retroreactions.... nope 🙂
OK, it's obviously a KAZOO!
But also do the studio version!
I second this Brandon. It's the pre-intermission blow-out ,and they give the crowd a real low-stopper...literally!
I was there .
Thanks so much Black Rose!! Welcome to the Retro Reactions family! I have added your suggestion to my list. Thanks for your support and comment! 😊
That’s yet another great live performance…great suggestion. 🤗
I know it's not the same but the Australian pink Floyd are worth checking out
Cool, I'm sure they have vids on UA-cam, thanks
They tour America
I was so stupid not to go but I saw the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour. Best live show I ever saw.
Personally I'm less of a fan of their 80s stuff because it misses Waters (or Waters dominated the record with The Final Cut). Pink Floyd at their best is where there's a certain balance and everyone has moments to contribute and shine.
Doesn't mean there aren't gems to be found at their records after 1979. And live, they were the best.
Well, we all have Momentary Lapses of Good Judgement LOL.....At least you saw them live!
Arguably Gilmores best solo...i also agree.
The Vancouver paper Headlines Pink Floyd is not a concert it is an Event
Truer words never written!
I was that lucky. Twice.
I'll do TIME some other time LOL.......
I do, but it has been a while tbh. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@retroreactions.... If you can play, don’t hold back.
Get you hands on a suitable Hammond and keyboards and just let yourself loose when you need to.
Enjoy life when you can.... it is too short to waste any precious moments.
Thanks Kent!
Have a look at Guy Pratt talking about his bass line from Sorrow, and his work with Madonna.
