    Vanessa, Your tutorial is awesome. I actually improvised a little bit and I put the same both front and back and I put the heating insulate on front and back for fear of an accidental forget which one was the heat protected one. Would love to send a photo but not sure how.

    I try to use what I have & pinch pennies so I am making my own 2.5 in. grid on lightweight fusible interfacing. Love your tutorial video! You do an amazing job. A mini charm pack does 2 oven mits!

    Just love these oven mitts! Especially the idea of the grid interfacing. I tried to use some plain interfacing and draw the lines-- it worked okay- but the concept is awesome! I can see lots of other applications for it. Love your tutorials-- i think I watch them over and over again during each step! THANKS! Merry Christmas!

    For some time now I have enjoyed your videos. Thanks for all the good tutorials you offer! I have always been curious about something and have wondered why you say pretty side and ugly side rather than right and wrong side.

    • @TheCraftyGemini
      @TheCraftyGemini  6 років тому

      Early on when I began teaching I noticed most of my beginning students were confusing "right" (as in correct) side with "right" (as in direction) and they were getting frustrated. Once I switched over to calling it pretty and ugly sides they had a lightbulb moment and caught on. I've received thousands of comments and emails over the years of beginners who finally understood the steps to sewing because I made it easier to understand with the terminology I used. I've stuck with it ever since. It works for me. Thanks.

I have been trying to download the template for the patchwork oven mitts, but when I go the "I" at the top right side of the screen, it tells me where to go to purchase the insulation for the project.
