Growing up in Drumchapel . Two corporation buses I used to go into Glasgow City , were the No 9 ,which went via Partick ( I think ) , and the No 20 .
I never knew there was a timetable . You just went to the bus stop and the bus would show up .
The Leyland Atlantean was like something out of this world . They were a Splendid Looking Bus . I came to Australia in 1972 . But I still miss those Atlanteans .
I was on that Western bus to Johnstone (the white one) many times. It had a unique smell to it. Thanks for reminding me.
What a good idea this is! Thank you.
Thought it was great to see the Albion bus which took me to the school Rowing Club
in Sydney each Wednesday afternoon.
In Glasgow we had to walk.

I've been to a couple of great open days in there. They had a big band playing and you could take trips into George square. The driver's canteen did a great trade, you could hardly get in at times.
i remember the midland bluebirds in kirkintilloch , where i grew up as a boy ... and the green and gold corporation buses when i went to Glasgow with my dad .. sadly i don't live in Scotland anymore .. but do go back to visit family and friends ,
my old grandad worked on the trams. my dad worked on the buses out of Larkfield garage, back when it was the GGPTE (Greater Glasgow passenger transport executive). Those green, white and yellow buses with GG don't halve bring back memories. Great video.
I remember the original black white & gold of the western SMT which would often leave the now forgotten Anderson bus garage and also the flaming orange of Strathclyde's buses.
Fond memories of getting the 38A from southside to Hogganfield loch to go fishing.
I drive one for a living.... I find them terribly boring... 😂😂
Wait 20 years and what you are driving today will be in a museum and interesting. The proof is in this video :-D
@@AstonishingGlasgow love the vids..... Keep em coming
