  • It was non stop bus action at the 2019 GVVT Open Weekend held on the 12th and 13th October. Along with the large collection of vehicles in the main display shed and in the yard area there was the free bus service connecting Bridgeton Garage, Glasgow City Centre and the Riverside Museum.
In addition to this there was a number of tours to various destinations over the weekend.
Once again Many Thanks to everyone involved for another highly organised and thoroughly enjoyable Open Weekend.

Excellent footage. I used to drive for Central SMT and then went to Western buses. Never liked the Bristol's although the Gardiner engines were bulletproof. Did a spell with Parks of Hamilton.

How much nicer the seats in coaches were in the old days. Coaches may have been slower and bumpier, but the interiors were so much nicer than the dark, claustrophobic things of today.
Those silver drum-shaped buildings at 3:04 look very ... distinctive, I suppose they're some new development

I agree with you. The coaches of yesteryear had a bit of character about them. i could be wrong I think the Drum Shaped building is a car park for the SECC.

I like the view at 19:26: and not just for the National Express coach

I was there on the Sunday - weather wasn’t the best, but riding the Lothian XLB made up for it
Think I might actually have been on the Big L Leyland Titan during the footage of it on Killermont Street
