I used the regular 1oz Black today, they sink but "sub-surface" meaning it's a slowed controlled descent depending on the forward motion that is applied to the retrieve. The "Unleaded" is more neutrally buoyant but sinks much slower. Today with the Okuma Hawaiian Custom 13' Menpachi Whipping Rod I was spin casting the 1oz regular Black Hammer Bomb 60-80m np. Didn't want to "oof" it, might snap the line. I think by now multiple Hammer Bombs grace every angler in Hawaii. Also anglers abroad are finding a need for HB for their style of finessing. So if you want them to sink slowly use the Regular ones, if you need it for shallow areas get the "Unleaded" HB.
I like the original weighted HB for the shallows & Flash Bombs for night use. Bill just gave me some Unleaded to try. I'm sure i'll use them for the reef areas as well.
Chris, I found a small white one with lights in the ocean a while ago. I didn't know what it was until I watched this video. Thanks! I lost it on my second cast. Haha! Such is shore fishing.
Magic stuff
I had one before I saw vids on em. I love these things. The bright yellow is great at night.
I think most local anglers have at least 1 HB in their tackle. I'm bad, i must have 2dz. Lol.
Can you use this for dunking?
Not for dunking, lead banks are the way to go for that.
What store is that?
Bill Newton's Ewa Beach Buy & Sell. The innovator of Hammer Bombs. Also HIFISHGEAR at www.hifishgear.com/
A model with a rattle chamber would be a nice addition.
So do they float or sink?

I’m doing a science project to engineer cheap and safe fishing weights and I was wonder what molds you use to cast those hammer bombs
It's not me, it's Bill Newton at Ewa Beach Buy & Sell & hifishgear.com at_

hammer stuck on a rock is called..ive lost so much...egg led go same far going back to that.
I use the leadless 1.75oz. Stays on top.
