I bought my 0211xcor for $75 a club. They feel so good and perform very well! I have a set of Ben Hogan Apex Edge forged and the PXGs are comparable in feel!
Was fit into my first set of PXG’s last week. Fit into the Gen 6 XP but with 2 degrees weak loft and half inch short to match the P spec. Fist time out, tire the course apart. Club feel and perform great and the fitting process overall was superb!
Thanks Simon and Neil...excellent review. I tested the 0211 XCOR irons and ultimately decided to go in a different direction. They're nice irons but at my age (69) I just don't generate sufficient clubhead speed anymore. With such strong lofts and a slower swing speed I couldn't get optimal height/spin on my shots...and I worried I wouldn't be able to hold the greens. Nevertheless, a really informative review. Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback Brian, really appreciate you taking the time. Simon utterly feels your pain - having just switched out of stronger lofted irons thanks to falling club speed.
PXG does have a driving iron, 0311X Gen5. Great comparison. One needs to be fitted and narrow down the proper model. I have the 0211 DC irons, 6-GW with MMT70 shafts.
hi i am 60 years old next March handicap of 8-10 driver swing speed of 90-94 mph and a 7 iron swing speed of 78-82 mph would i have enough club head speed for the Gen 6 XP ? or would i be best with the P ? i need some good advice I know my stats but am unable to get a fitting in person thx cheers from Canada
You can make the XP work just as well as the P model at that speed, yes. If you're an excessively higher ball-flight golfer, the XP's stronger loft will optimize you more. If you're a lower-flighted player, or just like seeing height, the P will be a better option. Lewis
Would there be any negatives from having the 0211s' lofts weakened by the allowable 2 degrees? Would the club somehow be negatively impacted by not using the default loft?
Im pretty much a 100 shooter...play about 1or 2 times a month...i hit my ping g 15 7iron like 175 to 185...im a lefty..never been fitted have a pretty big right to left ball movement. Any recommendations
@@lkae4 nope. He was very clear. He fit almost nobody to the XP - based upon what was alluded to in this video - the stronger lofts producing poor club delivery for high HI players. Then went on to state "people think they are more forgiving - but they are not." Can't be much more clear than that.
7 iron Swing speed 87-93. Handicap 33. Very inconsistent ball striking. When I don't hit it thin, fat, slice or hook, the ball goes much farther than average players shots. Which of these PXG clubs would suit me? A recent fitter put me in players distance with extra stiff shaft but I might want more forgiveness with less distance.
You're a really interesting case Rob, if there is weakness in the PXG line-up you expose it. If we were looking at Ping and TaylorMade, you'd have to think the G430 or Qi10 would be a really good option. But you just don't need the extra speed or distance of the strong lofted PXG 0211 or 0311 XP. Without seeing you hit shots it's impossible to say for sure, but the extra loft of the 0311 P might well be the best option. We can see why a fitter might swing towards this option. PXG might well have some new products available in the summer, might be worth holding off until then. Hope that helps.
With the XP you just go down a club number as they are half longer as standard which then actually makes them the almost the same loft as the P’s with more stabilty. Just saying guys as Ive played both. Good facts on vid👍
0211 ST blades, 0211 dual core irons or even the Z irons for me. Of course i used to work for the company, before they sent 99% of production to Mexico in late 2022 early 2023.. Heard PXG lost 18 million last year? Is that true? How long will the company last? I hop they make it. Great products. Great idea. Poor execution. (wacky, all over the place, pricing drove away a lot of wealthy golfers from the brand). Cheers. Great upload.

Great stuff Mark, lovely to hear you've gone with the weaker lofts to match the P, sounds like a lovely set-up.
I play the Gen4 T irons and really like them. I am considering adding the 0211 4 & 5 irons.

Just got fitted for the xp irons very good results

I got my 0211 xcor2 xtreme black 5-PW lightly used for 1 season for $96cad per stick. Can’t wait to hit some greens with them.
Enjoy Riley.
@@todaysgolfer oh I will! They shipped out today. Now I just need spring to come early.

@@todaysgolfer awesome thx i think i will go GEN 7 XP cheers

You'd increase the bounce Leonard. A good fitter would be able to help you decide if that's a good or bad thing for your game.
Hope that helps.
@@todaysgolferThank you! Seems like they already have rather high bounces, too

If you're looking at PXG the new Black Ops iron would be well worth a look.
Good summary. FYI - my local PXG fitter was of the opinion that the 0311XP was no more forgiving than the 0311P.
That's impossible given the size difference. But maybe he meant the larger XP would be a tradeoff and not helpful for your game.

So would you suggest the xp over the p for an 18 hcp. Also would it be better to just add 2 degrees of loft to the xp
@@jamiecrutchfield9868 Depends on the speed and strike ability of the player Jamie. Adding 2deg of loft will alter bounce which is not ideal.
Very informative! Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback Cole. 👍
What would you recommend for a low 20 handicap player
Would that low 20 handicap player produce good speed or not? 👍
What would you guys consider as the definition of an elite ball striker? Are we talking Flushing 8 out of 10 shots? Higher?
Someone who's not hitting many poorly struck iron shots would be good start. 8 or 9 out of 10 iron shots being well struck is a reasonable number.
I think we need your definition of slow speed versus medium or high-speed for this discussion.

@@todaysgolfer Thanks. Hope PXG stays in business.
Their 211 Xcor2’s seem like a great bargain. MyGolfSpy rates them highly too. I’m torn between these & the Sub70 699v2. 😑 (I shoot around 90)
Not a bad choice to have to make.
Purchased 0211 with 5.5 graphite shafts, received 6.0 graphite they're really light stock grips suck awful purrchase.
Have you contacted PXG Jim?
Why are you paying for clubs you didn't want?
Why no 0316. This is their best series to date for the average golfers.
Not sure where you're getting your info Mark, there currently is no 0316 iron in the PXG line-up.
@@todaysgolfer sorry mis typed. I was wanting to know about the xp
