      Not to mention building a machine to do something you can do faster by hand. But I got a few ideas just from that, its the principles and the process that are most interesting, I don't really need help taping cords together:).

      it would be much smarter to turn the thing you wanna warrp something around.. because if the tape hase a biger diameter than the tube thingy i spools faster out than on... why do you think he makes allways a cut? and you just see the end result?

    Other than wrapping PTFE on the pipe threads in the wrong direction, there is absolutely nothing wrong or bad with this idea. I love it!
    Next I'd like to see one where it acts like a human and passes the tape from one hand to the next, then crawls into tight spaces to wrap the loom.

    I've been seeing a few wrapping machines and one thing they all seem to be missing is an integrated way to control the wrapping speed in sync with the feed speed. Some spring loaded rollers with an encoder to control the wrap speed would be super slick!

    • @blackhat4968
      @blackhat4968 Рік тому

      Yes, I was also thinking it was wrapping to loosely on some of those items. I would prefer more tension on the tape holder to prevent it from feeding the tape easily. Especially when wrappings the wires, and the bike handle. Both were wrapped without enough tension in the tape to make a snug wrap.
      Otherwise Nice idea!!!

    Don't do this for cables if you plan on reusing cables elsewhere. The clue from the tape will stay on the cable after you remove the tape and makes for sticky cables w dirt and hair on them.

    I'm really surprised you got the cut out in that large sprocket accurate enough to run that smoothly with just a Dremel and a hand file. You're getting top marks (and a like) for that........ The whole concept, design, and quality of construction would have got you top marks anyway, but achieving that level of smoothness to that sprockets motion is what shines as an outstanding achievement to me . :D

    a bit like a rope winding machine from the early 1800's except they had more than one bobbin, an the bobbins were also geared to rotate in opposition (basically stopped in relation to the viewer).
    In a farm museum about 100k away farm here there is a simple machine you can put 3 used hay bale twines into, wind a handle and it plats them for you... A neat freebie from otherwise waste twine.
