Still with all these sophisticated & elaborated explanations to me as a simple mortal the Purosangue looks like an up-rise face-lifted FF (GTC) and let's face it no owner will take it off roading... When Ferrari officials announced they will make an bad-ass SUV i would really expected and love to see something more different, special & radical like a performance mid-engine SUV...
Not really, he missed several things that I, an amateur with little aesthetic experience, noticed. He pointed out the line on the side but not how it connects with the line on the back, the lower portions are black to help make it look not as tall, and some other details.
@@johnhunter7244 True John, they weren’t mentioned in the edited episode. The entire shoot contained those things you mention and 27 more points that I’m sure you noticed too. But all my comments boiled the episode down to 93 minutes long and we needed to keep it under 30 minutes total, which, at 27 minutes after the final cut, is already insanely long for a UA-cam video. I’m disappointed that you underestimate me. 😉
Hey Frank, just want to say I really appreciate what you're giving to the people who have always noticed the details but never had any formal training. Having somebody like you who has been there and done that critique things for the public really shines a light on a side of auto that the world does not get to see. In a way, you are helping crystalize feelings of why people feel a certain way towards a certain thing both forwards and backwards in time.
This guy is a living legend imo. He's designed so so many modern car icons , who's design cues still Continue. Bringing Ferraris into the modern age post the Moderna 360. The modern mini cooper which still follows the design to this day. The BMW X5...etc etc
17:48 I strongly agree with your opinion of continuing the tradition of round taillights in Ferraris, just like the recent 812 and GTC4. The round taillights giving a look of being almost compressed by the rear of the car was an awesome design.
Yes, the round double tail lights are and should stay as a trademark of Ferrari! The single tail lights allways looked like there was something missing... Besides that the Purosangue is pure Art!😎👌
2 things are missing compared to the old format: #1: Showing the result of the modifications you would have wanted like before #2: Showing the all time ranking car score so we can compare how the car did with the previous ones PLEASE add those 2 points back, that'd be then a great improvement from before. The *vast* majority of companies won't go out of their way to spend time and money suing a designer on UA-cam, especially not when they know he's not infringing any of their protected rights which means they'll be throwing money down the drain on a lost cause. Not to mention that Frank has already redesigned the F40 entirely without any further consequences.
An utterly brilliant video Frank perhaps one of your greatest. I am blown away at the fact that Ferrari have been able to pull this off and redefine it so much. They have filled a market segment that are essentially mandated to, but done it in such a way as to put a middle finger to everything that an "SUV" has become in the last 10 years or so. While I am by no means a Ferrari Fan, this car makes me so positive that other brands will take suit and put more effort into their mainstream offerings. Cheers!
I agree. A little CGI is okay, but this is a little trying too hard to appeal to lowest common denominator types, especially with somewhat dubstep music in the beginning.
OH MY GOD! How much work went into it! I mean your new studio, the CGI, the views perfectly calculated, the timing, position of the screen, proportions of every scene, the transitions between the scenes, the water in the back! The stadium! Feels like watching Avatar) the Music! This is not UA-cam material! This feels like OPERA, may I say. Can't imagine how much money and work you had to put into this! BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! Frank - I love your videos, and have been a fan since day 1. I commend you for trying new things with the format, it's certainly unique though it's lead to far fewer videos than before. I'd vote for more design reviews in a simpler format (just you in your studio is fine, the touch screen is the key improvement, and I enjoyed the before/after renderings based on your design tweaks - would be a much better use of CG than the virtual set). There are so many new car designs out these days, and I always think.... what would Frank say? A vote for back to basics - content over style!

This might be my first comment ever. Usually I just don't care. Lately though I can't help noticing the decline in production value of your videos which sadly is driving me away from your channel. I know a thing or two about cgi and postproduction so I do know that a lot of work went into it. Unfortunately the final effect is just not good. Quality-wise it looks 10-years old at the day of premiere. The scene is supposed to be spacious and dimentional, yet you cast a shadow on the "invisible" wall just behind you. And it's just one of many problems in that area. What's more I can't figure out how does this futuristic environment relate to anything else on the channel in the first place. Surely it's not going together well with 70's style typography. Please consider going away from the green screen and back behind your elegant desk in your cozy studio. Simplicity IS the key. I'm sure you know that. I agree with everything @JM said. Renderings of your ideas for design changes were great! And a way better use of CGI. Alternatively you could just go for a simple solid dark blue paper background with a subtle diffused studio light directed on it (just like in George Clooney's Omega Speedmaster photo adds) with additional softbox/octa key light on yourself for a professional and elegant effect. That will be enough. I assure you. We're all here for the content - your expertise, ideas, opinions and inspiration you pass. Fingers crossed and all the best whatever direction you'll go!

I am quite fascinated by Ferrari's new Purosangue. Like every Ferrari, the Purosangue's character changes with the exterior color. Great video. I love these! My useless opinion on the wheelarches is that they tried to not make enormous wheels look small and the black fender give the illusion of fullness. To me it doesn't quite work, but if you paint these in body colour, the wheels look small. A hard problem to solve.
They really took a page from the Mustang Mach E on that one. Unfortunately this might just be the best middle ground given the tall form factor of the SUV.
This is quality content I would pay for to watch Frank, seriously. I would also love to see how you would "fix" the Purosangue with slight redesign of the clamshell, deleted door handle or rounded taillights.

this format entertains and inspires my inner child. such a simple addition-CGI cutscenes of different areas of perhaps a futuristic design lab-suggests an enormous world around you. guarantee this channel will single-handedly inspire so much of the next generation of car, industrial, and more designers

Very interesting video. Always points out a consideration I would never in a thousand years have thought of. I'm enjoying the CGI format, and think it's done well but it's still a little distracting. It will be better as it evolves and gets more subtle, but I see how it could become a useful tool for the channel. The editor is doing a good job, just need to find the balance.

A design master class by Flavio Manzoni has great complexity in the design. I like the fact that it doesn't look like a typical ugly tall SUV that looks much lower sophisticated yet hasn't compromised on passenger comfort and space a big achievement!

Great video and analysis. I think with the door handle, they wanted to give the illusion of it being like a two door coupe. I absolutely love it though.

Hi Frank, I love your channel! I wish I could find a vehicle in my price range with the haptic joy of a F1 style Ferrari steering wheel. The massive paddle shifters, thumb actuated turn signals, manettino control, engine start stop, etc. And while I've never sat in a Ferrari, it feels to me that there is more haptic feedback now than ever before because control is in your hands, at your finger tips, chest level, in front of you, and not spread around the cabin. Thank you for your great insight.
Great analysis as always. I think Ferrari nailed it. I would be happy to have this car as my daily driver. It has great utility for someone of my size, age and lifestyle. The design is subtle enough that many people won't even notice it.

I agree with you about the Ferrari tail lights. All Ferrari's need to retain the round bulging Ferrari tail lights that are found on the F360, F430, Enzo, etc. It's such a signature look. Good points about the door handle as well. Something tell me this car will do pretty well :)
Ferrari absolutely nailed it, with a capital exclamation mark! Dare I say, for a company that does not actually need such a vehicle for its survival, this might very well be their greatest achievement thus far.

I agree. I love it. For me, the front door handles are the one design aspect that stands out most as something that should have been improved upon. Otherwise, I think it is a beautiful Ferrari and close to a design masterpiece. Thank you, Frank, for sharing your expert critique! Oh @FrankStephenson good job fixing the light, it looks much much better now when you are talking with the screen, a tip that would put a cherry on top, is on the real world bellow the TV put a real small orange led light as a bounce light, when he brings to the virtual that orange ring will blend in much better and it will be perfect, but it already looks amazing I am glad you cared for that.

I can't put my finger on it but always felt the front and rear never tied together. I would love to see how this car looks with 22s in the front as well. Maybe that would help it out.
To me it looks like the front is pushed down a little too much, I didn't notice it at first but after looking at the pictures Frank used, I could not not notice it. It feels like it was a cross between a sports car and a suv.
Thank you Frank for another highly entertaining and educating design review! I really enjoy hearing the thoughts of someone with your pedigree on contemporary designs. Especially so when you're not shying away from a little criticism. When discussing the wheel arch situation I would have loved to see a montage of your ideas in comparison next to it, if I remember correctly you did something similar in previous videos. Regarding the Ferrari: I can't believe this behemoth is almost as wide as a Cadillac Escalade, but as you pointed out - the artisan surfacing hides the dimensions really well! Wow Frank congratulations!!! That was the best design analysis I ever seen! So much on the spot. And it’s so amazing how you improve the design with just a few lines eg the side line over the front wheel. I am with you on every point you made, especially the rear lights. Why do they always think they need to make it different to the heritage of Ferrari??? With today’s LED-Technology you can improve the round heritage so much so that you don’t need to do it completely different. They are zero Ferrari like, they just wanted to copy the front lights. Thank you so much for this great and entertaining analysis. If I could I would by this toy.
I mean this Ferrari will be more mass production than any other model in their history ever will be. So the point being copy and not Ferrari like might be cause it's for non Ferrari people and probably cause the design is going to be as I said previously even to the Lusso more mass production by Ferrari standards. So overall quality might be a bit down.
@@gerogyzurkov2259 Sorry Gerogy but your comment shows you don’t know how car design woks: - the product strategy would never ever tell the designers how a rear light should look like. That’s the designers part - because the luxury sporty SUV segment is bigger and more popular in sales vs the traditional sports cars, doesn’t mean you have to change your cool round rear lights. It‘s only the design department who does this and it’s a sin to the brand and product management and the board members should never allow this! That’s how you destroy the heritage and the core values of a brand! And the designers only do this because they want to create something new and tell you only this design is the right design. But this is how you make a brand interchangeable by not keeping the brands heritage and what it stands for. So it’s 100% the opposite of what you say
@@gerogyzurkov2259 And let me give you another example: I worked for the MINI brand for years. Frank designed the new MINI hatchback with the round front lights that the original MINI always had. Then Frank left company and other designers made the first MINI SUV Countryman and they didn’t make the front lights round but looking like fried eggs 🥴🤢 The designers told me they must do it so the car looks more masculine which is bullshit. MINI never stood for being masculine, that’s how you destroy a brand’s history and make it interchangeable. And that’s why MINI today isn’t what MINI used to be. I hate it if a lot of designers always think they have to design something new and destroy the heritage. You can eg with todays technology make the inner side of the front lights new and exciting and still keep the round shape. Thank is combining heritage and new technology. But not by just changing the heritage round shape to a wired shape no one understands
From a front view fank's moustache is much closer to the observer than his beard. Hence it's darker in color than his beard which kinda just fades away. This is a great use of contrast by the masterful designer.
Great video as usual . I think you need more light on you , especially with the virtual backround ... Also , I think you need to change the font you use for your titles as these look a bit too " Flash Dance " ... Maybe somehting a bit more sleel and easy to read . You are a true design master !❣
Small note for the video editor, there is some lens distortion that can probably be fixed in post. In these last videos with this style , the screen is always curved.

I appreciate how they made the design compact and sleek instead of the typical boxy, tall, bulky designs that most SUVs like to adopt. I reckon the black wheel arches are a staple design feature in SUV and offroad vehicle designs, I think Ferrari felt compelled to add it for that reason.
You’ll still need a separation line between the fender and front bumper lower down if you move the clamshell line above the wheel arch, but yes, it would be smaller and less noticeable.
I agree with you. I don't get why he seems neglect the fact that front bumper still needs to be separated from the fender. If the line is moved up a bit so it's tangent to the wheel arch, it will create two sharp corners which are hard to manufacture, dangerous, and probably not good looking either.
@@shutianwu5295 i dont agree with frank here tbh, i think this kind of styling works well in most cases inluding this one. for example the 1999 lotus esprit had similar lines around the fender wich may be executed better (preference maybe), but if there is a problem with the ferrari's cutlines it is not that they intersect/ get cut off
Well, even me not exactly being a fan of SUVs am Wowed by this design. In fact, for me it is the first visual creation of an SUV which successfully has mastered the illusion of not being one at all. The looks are powerful, stunning and quintessential from all angles. The design certainly is commanding the viewer to see a Ferrari. Moving the clamshell line up that bit would perhaps also decrease that illusion just a tad as it would increase the perception of height of the side view of the car. The position of the current line does add to the impression of relative visual lowness of the car I think, but I do relate to all points you’ve mentioned. For the interior, I’m chuffed to see that they at least didn’t go ott with screens. All is exactly spot on, but I also prefer real buttons for controls for the exact reason you have extremely well articulated. All in all, fabulous visuals, a distinctive and an undeniably authoritative Ferrari signature. Well done Ferrari and thank you Frank for this extraordinary analysis.
“It’s not an SUV” thank you! I couldn’t agree more. You did a way better job designing the first SUV for BMW than what Ferrari pulled off here as their first. I would barely call this a crossover if not a hatchback. Doesn’t look bad but it’s not what they claim it to be.
As a car lover and amateur car designer I really liked this analysis. Thank you! Agree on almost everything. Im sorry dear Ferrari but, when I saw Purosangue first time I didn’t like it at all, I never wanted to see Ferrari’s suv ) But now I’m in love with this fuv! Regarding rear end signal lights I would prefer ‘23 Portofino M rear light styling and also I would raise the clearance for another 5 inch and bigger wheels and tires✌️
Thank you Frank for this awesome video. Love the way the you present as a designer, making your points easy to understand, yet very strong. My understanding on the front door handle is that it is a visual trick, to take away the attention of the rear door and makes the rear door disappear.
I only have one comment on the Purosangue. When I look at a car, I look at its reason for existing, held up against the company's brand identity's reason for existing. In my analysis, the Purosangue simply does not reflect a Ferrari-related reason to exist. It doesn't appear driven, it doesn't appear to be the creation of someone's bright vision and desire to push this to reality, to go where none have gone before -to refine what none have refined before. Instead, it looks like it was mandated to exist, like a necessary evil, like a trend catcher. None of these aspects speak "Ferrari" to me - no matter how much Ferrari family dna is in the design, no matter how many Ferrari stamped bolts are used on that surely great engine. No matter what, I do not see the Ferrari soul. I do not see the soul of Enzo Ferrari wanting this vehicle to exist. To me, no matter how finely tuned the styling is or how well it performs for an SUV, it is not a Ferrari and I can not see it as one. I see it as an excuse. A great excuse, but an excuse nonetheless. Ferrari are not bold with this segment, they waited until every other exotic company in the industry proved it to be profitable. They were not visionary, they adhere to a spike in a certain market demand and that's all this car is to me. It's not a Ferrari, it's an economic investment plan, a number in the spread sheets. Exactly what I never want cars to be designed as. Nothing but numbers and statistics.

One other thing I noted was if they had lifted the clamshell line up above the front wheel like you suggest the Ferrari shield could have been lifted, I think it's placement is too low on the car. Great videos, love to hear analysis of these cars..

Dear Frank, as a car design fan I love following your channel. One car I own and love the design of is the Ford Escort mk1. I loved the Cosworth you designed which I discovered recently that you designed too btw. I love the 2-door mk1 design, the flow lines and the fact that my eyes keep on looking at it and all the lines converge and flow into one another. A small old timer that looks good also in a racing setting. My cars are standard mostly. I would love to see an analysis of that design from you. Looking forward if you have the chance please. I do agree about switches. I (and everyone else) love toggle switches. Super positive and verifiable are the practical advantages unlike a tiny led that can't be seen in the sun.
The CGi background needs some composition work on the contrast but it's getting there. Look at Dr. Disrespect's "multimillion dollar arena" layout for a good reference.

I agree. A little CGI is okay, but this is a little trying too hard to appeal to lowest common denominator types, especially with somewhat dubstep music in the beginning.
OH MY GOD! How much work went into it! I mean your new studio, the CGI, the views perfectly calculated, the timing, position of the screen, proportions of every scene, the transitions between the scenes, the water in the back! The stadium! Feels like watching Avatar) the Music! This is not UA-cam material! This feels like OPERA, may I say. Can't imagine how much money and work you had to put into this! BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! Dear Frank, You are a legend!

Frank - I love your videos, and have been a fan since day 1. I commend you for trying new things with the format, it's certainly unique though it's lead to far fewer videos than before. I'd vote for more design reviews in a simpler format (just you in your studio is fine, the touch screen is the key improvement, and I enjoyed the before/after renderings based on your design tweaks - would be a much better use of CG than the virtual set). There are so many new car designs out these days, and I always think.... what would Frank say? A vote for back to basics - content over style!

This might be my first comment ever. Usually I just don't care. Lately though I can't help noticing the decline in production value of your videos which sadly is driving me away from your channel. I know a thing or two about cgi and postproduction so I do know that a lot of work went into it. Unfortunately the final effect is just not good. Quality-wise it looks 10-years old at the day of premiere. The scene is supposed to be spacious and dimentional, yet you cast a shadow on the "invisible" wall just behind you. And it's just one of many problems in that area. What's more I can't figure out how does this futuristic environment relate to anything else on the channel in the first place. Surely it's not going together well with 70's style typography.
Please consider going away from the green screen and back behind your elegant desk in your cozy studio. Simplicity IS the key. I'm sure you know that. I agree with everything @JM said. Renderings of your ideas for design changes were great! And a way better use of CGI. Alternatively you could just go for a simple solid dark blue paper background with a subtle diffused studio light directed on it (just like in George Clooney's Omega Speedmaster photo adds) with additional softbox/octa key light on yourself for a professional and elegant effect. That will be enough. I assure you. We're all here for the content - your expertise, ideas, opinions and inspiration you pass.

Great video. I love these! My useless opinion on the wheelarches is that they tried to not make enormous wheels look small and the black fender give the illusion of fullness. To me it doesn't quite work, but if you paint these in body colour, the wheels look small. A hard problem to solve.
They really took a page from the Mustang Mach E on that one. Unfortunately this might just be the best middle ground given the tall form factor of the SUV.

Very interesting video. Always points out a consideration I would never in a thousand years have thought of. I'm enjoying the CGI format, and think it's done well but it's still a little distracting. It will be better as it evolves and gets more subtle, but I see how it could become a useful tool for the channel. The editor is doing a good job, just need to find the balance.

A design master class by Flavio Manzoni has great complexity in the design. I like the fact that it doesn't look like a typical ugly tall SUV that looks much lower sophisticated yet hasn't compromised on passenger comfort and space a big achievement!

Hi Frank, I love your channel! I wish I could find a vehicle in my price range with the haptic joy of a F1 style Ferrari steering wheel. The massive paddle shifters, thumb actuated turn signals, manettino control, engine start stop, etc. And while I've never sat in a Ferrari, it feels to me that there is more haptic feedback now than ever before because control is in your hands, at your finger tips, chest level, in front of you, and not spread around the cabin. Thank you for your great insight.

Great analysis as always. I think Ferrari nailed it. I would be happy to have this car as my daily driver. It has great utility for someone of my size, age and lifestyle. The design is subtle enough that many people won't even notice it.

I agree with you about the Ferrari tail lights. All Ferrari's need to retain the round bulging Ferrari tail lights that are found on the F360, F430, Enzo, etc. It's such a signature look. Good points about the door handle as well. Something tell me this car will do pretty well :)
Ferrari absolutely nailed it, with a capital exclamation mark! Dare I say, for a company that does not actually need such a vehicle for its survival, this might very well be their greatest achievement thus far.
Fascinating, as always. Loved it more when you were in your studio, with the scale models in the back, this futuristic graphics are just too much.

I agree. I love it. For me, the front door handles are the one design aspect that stands out most as something that should have been improved upon. Oh @FrankStephenson good job fixing the light, it looks much much better now when you are talking with the screen, a tip that would put a cherry on top, is on the real world bellow the TV put a real small orange led light as a bounce light, when he brings to the virtual that orange ring will blend in much better and it will be perfect, but it already looks amazing I am glad you cared for that.

I can't put my finger on it but always felt the front and rear never tied together. I would love to see how this car looks with 22s in the front as well. Maybe that would help it out.

To me it looks like the front is pushed down a little too much, I didn't notice it at first but after looking at the pictures Frank used, I could not not notice it. It feels like it was a cross between a sports car and a suv.

I really enjoy hearing the thoughts of someone with your pedigree on contemporary designs. Especially so when you're not shying away from a little criticism. When discussing the wheel arch situation I would have loved to see a montage of your ideas in comparison next to it, if I remember correctly you did something similar in previous videos.
Regarding the Ferrari: I can't believe this behemoth is almost as wide as a Cadillac Escalade, but as you pointed out - the artisan surfacing hides the dimensions really well! Kudos for participating in Movember and thank you again for your great content 🙌

Wow Frank congratulations!!! That was the best design analysis I ever seen! So much on the spot. And it’s so amazing how you improve the design with just a few lines eg the side line over the front wheel.
I am with you on every point you made, especially the rear lights. Why do they always think they need to make it different to the heritage of Ferrari??? With today’s LED-Technology you can improve the round heritage so much so that you don’t need to do it completely different. They are zero Ferrari like, they just wanted to copy the front lights. Thank you so much for this great and entertaining analysis. If I could I would by this toy.
I mean this Ferrari will be more mass production than any other model in their history ever will be. So the point being copy and not Ferrari like might be cause it's for non Ferrari people and probably cause the design is going to be as I said previously even to the Lusso more mass production by Ferrari standards. So overall quality might be a bit down.

- the product strategy would never ever tell the designers how a rear light should look like. That’s the designers part
- because the luxury sporty SUV segment is bigger and more popular in sales vs the traditional sports cars, doesn’t mean you have to change your cool round rear lights. It‘s only the design department who does this and it’s a sin to the brand and product management and the board members should never allow this! That’s how you destroy the heritage and the core values of a brand! And the designers only do this because they want to create something new and tell you only this design is the right design. But this is how you make a brand interchangeable by not keeping the brands heritage and what it stands for. So it’s 100% the opposite of what you say
@@gerogyzurkov2259 And let me give you another example: I worked for the MINI brand for years. Frank designed the new MINI hatchback with the round front lights that the original MINI always had. Then Frank left company and other designers made the first MINI SUV Countryman and they didn’t make the front lights round but looking like fried eggs 🥴🤢 The designers told me they must do it so the car looks more masculine which is bullshit. MINI never stood for being masculine, that’s how you destroy a brand’s history and make it interchangeable. And that’s why MINI today isn’t what MINI used to be. I hate it if a lot of designers always think they have to design something new and destroy the heritage. You can eg with todays technology make the inner side of the front lights new and exciting and still keep the round shape. Thank is combining heritage and new technology. But not by just changing the heritage round shape to a wired shape no one understands

From a front view fank's moustache is much closer to the observer than his beard. Hence it's darker in color than his beard which kinda just fades away. This is a great use of contrast by the masterful designer.

Small note for the video editor, there is some lens distortion that can probably be fixed in post. In these last videos with this style , the screen is always curved.

I appreciate how they made the design compact and sleek instead of the typical boxy, tall, bulky designs that most SUVs like to adopt. I reckon the black wheel arches are a staple design feature in SUV and offroad vehicle designs, I think Ferrari felt compelled to add it for that reason.
You’ll still need a separation line between the fender and front bumper lower down if you move the clamshell line above the wheel arch, but yes, it would be smaller and less noticeable.
i think he meant the cutline of the clamshell would hit the wheelarch, but not cut it, so both lines are uninterupted but without a gap
I agree with you. I don't get why he seems neglect the fact that front bumper still needs to be separated from the fender. If the line is moved up a bit so it's tangent to the wheel arch, it will create two sharp corners which are hard to manufacture, dangerous, and probably not good looking either.
@@shutianwu5295 i dont agree with frank here tbh, i think this kind of styling works well in most cases inluding this one. for example the 1999 lotus esprit had similar lines around the fender wich may be executed better (preference maybe), but if there is a problem with the ferrari's cutlines it is not that they intersect/ get cut off

Well, even me not exactly being a fan of SUVs am Wowed by this design. In fact, for me it is the first visual creation of an SUV which successfully has mastered the illusion of not being one at all. The looks are powerful, stunning and quintessential from all angles. The design certainly is commanding the viewer to see a Ferrari. Moving the clamshell line up that bit would perhaps also decrease that illusion just a tad as it would increase the perception of height of the side view of the car. The position of the current line does add to the impression of relative visual lowness of the car I think, but I do relate to all points you’ve mentioned. For the interior, I’m chuffed to see that they at least didn’t go ott with screens. All is exactly spot on, but I also prefer real buttons for controls for the exact reason you have extremely well articulated. All in all, fabulous visuals, a distinctive and an undeniably authoritative Ferrari signature. Well done Ferrari and thank you Frank for this extraordinary analysis.

“It’s not an SUV” thank you! I couldn’t agree more. You did a way better job designing the first SUV for BMW than what Ferrari pulled off here as their first. I would barely call this a crossover if not a hatchback. Doesn’t look bad but it’s not what they claim it to be.
I started calling them fat wagons for a while now. The Porsche fat wagon, Rolls Royce fat wagon, etc.
Could listen to this guy for hours. Frank knows his stuff.

Regarding rear end signal lights I would prefer ‘23 Portofino M rear light styling and also I would raise the clearance for another 5 inch and bigger wheels and tires✌️

I only have one comment on the Purosangue.
When I look at a car, I look at its reason for existing, held up against the company's brand identity's reason for existing.
In my analysis, the Purosangue simply does not reflect a Ferrari-related reason to exist. It doesn't appear driven, it doesn't appear to be the creation of someone's bright vision and desire to push this to reality, to go where none have gone before -to refine what none have refined before.
Instead, it looks like it was mandated to exist, like a necessary evil, like a trend catcher.
None of these aspects speak "Ferrari" to me - no matter how much Ferrari family dna is in the design, no matter how many Ferrari stamped bolts are used on that surely great engine. No matter what, I do not see the Ferrari soul. I do not see the soul of Enzo Ferrari wanting this vehicle to exist.
To me, no matter how finely tuned the styling is or how well it performs for an SUV, it is not a Ferrari and I can not see it as one. I see it as an excuse. A great excuse, but an excuse nonetheless.
Ferrari are not bold with this segment, they waited until every other exotic company in the industry proved it to be profitable. They were not visionary, they adhere to a spike in a certain market demand and that's all this car is to me. It's not a Ferrari, it's an economic investment plan, a number in the spread sheets. Exactly what I never want cars to be designed as. Nothing but numbers and statistics.

One other thing I noted was if they had lifted the clamshell line up above the front wheel like you suggest the Ferrari shield could have been lifted, I think it's placement is too low on the car. Great videos, love to hear analysis of these cars..

Dear Frank, as a car design fan I love following your channel. One car I own and love the design of is the Ford Escort mk1. I loved the Cosworth you designed which I discovered recently that you designed too btw. I love the 2-door mk1 design, the flow lines and the fact that my eyes keep on looking at it and all the lines converge and flow into one another. A small old timer that looks good also in a racing setting. My cars are standard mostly. I would love to see an analysis of that design from you. Looking forward if you have the chance please. I do agree about switches. I (and everyone else) love toggle switches. Super positive and verifiable are the practical advantages unlike a tiny led that can't be seen in the sun.
The CGi background needs some composition work on the contrast but it's getting there. Look at Dr. Disrespect's "multimillion dollar arena" layout for a good reference.
