Pattie is so delightful to listen to. Always growing, always kinetic. She challenges herself constantly. What a positive influence she is. Still love her fashion sense and her ease in her own space. It makes her even more beautiful.
Wow she looks really great here for 79 and on March 17th she'll be 80 years old . Incredible . I read her autobiography years ago and really enjoyed it except that as an American sometimes I did not always know exactly what some of the venues were where they would have dinner or go clubbing and had to look them up .
Well , what I recall was it wasn't just her looks but people said she was a very delightful and loving person ... that she was always very kind to everyone ... so she must have been very charming in a genuine way .
I hope people will scroll down to the comment by cliff venters after looking up what he means by the word with the three letters ... what it means in slang which is rather derogatory when he is talking about Patti Boyd . I hope others will tell him a piece of their mind and let him know that he's somewhat gross ... really disgusting the way some men have to bring their sleaziness here .
We named our daughter Layla, after you and the song. She was truly beautiful and extremely smart and quick witted. People loved her since she was tiny! But addiction in our family was passed on to her. Unfortunately she passed in Oct 2011. She had just turned 20. God bless you!❤
Oh , I am so sorry to hear you lost your beautiful Layla at such a young age . I hope that somehow with each year that passes , the burden of your pain somehow becomes lighter . I'm so sorry to hear this 😢
Perhaps you could keep her memory alive by creating a scholarship in her name for something that she really loved ? For instance if she played a musical instrument maybe a scholarship for someone to go to a college for music or perhaps if she loved sewing and design may be money for them to go to a design college ? You could have a video made about her showing photos and vids of her throughout her life for the scholarship and put it here on UA-cam and in fact you should even do that even if you can't get around to the scholarship anytime soon .
Imagine how it must feel to have inspired those beautiful songs! I remember hearing Derek & The Dominos (Eric Clapton) playing “Layla” at The Black Prince in Bexley around 1970 and loving it. It has remained an all time favourite.
You're still so beautiful. And this shows you're beautiful inside as well. Of course back when you married George we all wanted to hate you but we were teenagers who never had a chance to even meet him😥😀. Then we grew to love you and respect you as well. Thanks for sharing this. Wishing you health and happiness 👍♥️
I have read her book . The truth is George was a constant cheater and towards the end he more or less ignored her . Eric was so desperate to be with her but when they finally did get together he ended up being horrible to her , was drunk or high half the time and also ended up cheating on her . I don’t know how she was able to get over the heartache . She doesn’t seem to be the least bit bitter .. I don’t know if the lifestyle and riches could ever make up for the emotional turmoil she endured .
Yes I agree it was awful the way they both treated her and it made me so sad for her when I read her autobiography especially the way Eric Clapton pretty much kicked her out of the home with his brutality and then she had no real legal leg to stand on in court since she left . I know she did later get a small settlement . Yes very sad about the way she was treated since people said she was always very kind and thoughtful
So sad to realise how George and Eric treated Patti so badly. Have lost a lot of respect for those two men - especially George who grew up in a good happy home with a lot of love for his mum. So good at putting others down in his interviews, while he was treating someone in such a disgusting way.
George treated her badly? He had affairs. He treated her well. You talk as if she is an Angel and George as some kind of Taliban follower restricting her freedoms. Pattie was banging Ronnie Wood and other Men whilst still married to George. It's not like she respected sanctimony of Marriage. He was the best Man at her wedding with Eric. Hello. In fact George helped her out financially after her divorce with Eric.
his sister who only died last year recieved a small monthly allowance from him a year after his death it stopped and she got work with a beatles tribute band to sad as she was quite elderly
@@annstewart9693yes it was really terrible the way George Harrison's second wife stopped those small payments to George's sister who really helped pave the way for the Beatles coming to America . It doesn't sound like his sister had much and was living in a trailer I don't think George wanted her to be treated this way . Hopefully she's in a better place now as I hear she passed away in the past year or two
I read about Pattie recently. This lady must have had a gold laced WAP back in the day. So many famous powerful men were obsessed with her over the years. Very beautiful in retro photos. She is very pleasant and interesting to listen to tell stories and talk.
cliff venters, if you're saying what I think you're saying I think that's kind of gross and disrespectful of you since people said she was always very classy and ladylike . What I've heard people say aside from her being classy and ladylike , is she was always very kind , even to strangers , thoughtful and a very loving person ... not about the sleazy thing you are implying . She had a type of genuine innocent charm ... not at all what you're talking about , dear Lord .
Too bad the sound in this interview is so bad. The interviewer is too loud, interjects for self too much, and Patty's hissing, static-y mic is terrible. But Patty is an absolute delight. There's still a sweetness and unassuming way about her, as if she has kept some of her innocence and purity throughout all the larger than life events she has lived through. Indeed, it is easy how she could have inspired a masterpiece such as Layla. Thank you so much for having been the muse for that extrusion of raw and soulful emotion in its epic musical expression. ❤🙏
Her sister ,Jenny Boyd, was married to Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac. I wished I had been there , being from Cambridge , to ask her if John Lennon had been invited to her wedding reception to Eric Clapton in 1979 in Surrey, England. Ringo Starr,Paul McCartney and of course Eric's friend ,George Harrison were there and it is believed played together. Eric played with Lennon in the Plastic Ono band and was highly regarded by Lennon. What a missed opportunity!v
@@SHARON.I Was that still the case in 1979 for John when Eric and Pattie had their marriage reception? The strange thing is that John's drug conviction in 1968 which seriously affected his US citizenship application was nothing compared to Paul's drug convictions e.g jail in Japan. Not sure if Paul is still banned from entering Japan.
@@henryfitch8710I didn't realize Pattie Boyd married Eric Clapton and as late as 1979 for some reason I thought it was earlier than that . Yes Paul McCartney has played in Japan a number of times and I think he even spoke about how much she loves going there and how nice the Japanese people are
Shocking audio and camera work not as good as it should be! This interview is fabulous but totally spoiled because of it. Perhaps the producers aren't aware of just what an icon Pattie is! I feel for the interviewer, she must be more than a little disappointed!
I think it's good to say be brave but I understand where a lot of these young people are coming from today because a lot of them really do know that the odds are stacked against them compared to when people like myself ... I'm now almost 66 or people like Patty (who will be 80 on March 17th ) were younger , it did not cost a lot to live and it did not cost a lot to eat and it did not cost a lot to simply exist . Times really are different now and not a simple .

What a lovely woman. Its no wonder why so many great love songs were written for her.❤️🙌
Beauty with personality is unbeatable
I don't see what was so much of a deal over her just average blond now she's really appealing .
I do not trust these opinions any more just because they are all positive on ytb, superlative

A very honest interview
I think every woman wanted to be pattie at one stage
I know l did.❤
Thank you Pattie for your honesty and vulnerability. ❤
Pattie looks really nice. Time hasn't stood still but time has treated her well
Well and generously said. Merci beaucoup.
Thank you for uploading this ❤ Pattie's stories are such a pleasure to listen to🥰

Poor camera work here. But Pattie does a fantastic job of answering questions and talking about her life.
Terrible sound, too
Lucky girl! She was pretty and met George and Eric.
the audio is bad for Pattie, just like the last video I saw from Henley lit fest.

If invited I don't believe he could have left the US at that time due to his pending citizenship issues

She definitely doesn't comprehend how privileged she is from the start and how life is for most. It's a pity.
