the people who were excited for ultima were actually excited about nolvus lol it was always just that with a few things sprinkled on top that stood out
Ultima inspired me to try and redo my original Skyrim modlist from scratch, and I used it as a bit of a guide for some features, but one thing I didn't like about it was that it felt pretty bloated. Its definitely personal taste, but for me, I don't really care about overhauling every single feature or texture. 200gb of mods seems kinda excessive for Skyrim but that's the fun of modding in that you can make it whatever you want. (I also was unaware there was controversy surrounding ultima, and people certainly should never be harassed over something as trivial as a mod list for a 2011 video game)
@@SirAirlessDaVacuum That was meant for Biggies overall attitude that I’ve seen dealing with children online. You are free to tell me why it’s not a breath of fresh air. The banning of the modlist of course, not Biggies overall attitude. My mind can be changed, I only care for truth.
Truth is this was a character assassination video that provided no receipts or proof. Just take my word for it. Also, the bits about illegal mods doesn't pan out because nexus would have banned him for violating permissions. Users self installing mods to the list after isn't a breach of any tos. When you boil this story down, analyze it, and look at what biggie has said in comments you quickly realize that biggie is mad at one of nukts mods and used his connection to wabbajack to get the list nuked even though nukt wasn't involved in anything that happened. This is a personal beef and nukt is the collateral damage.
@SirAirlessDaVacuum "used his connection to wabbajack" now who's making weird claims without "receipts". I don't need receipts when ALL OF THIS is public info. Anybody can go into the Wabbajack Discord or Ultima Discord right now and see all of this.
I'm just waiting for Nolvus or whatever it was called. It seems to have its own installer separate from everything else, including installing Skyrim with a custom version reverter to keep it separate from your main Skyrim's mod list.
@@lofipro2209 From what I understand, it downloads everything for you, including Skyrim. There's a video I saw that was talking about it. The toxicity in the server is subjective imo. I feel that dunking on other modlists and authors is just what comes with the territory of modding. (Depending on how you do it). As for illegal distribution of mods, that one is still a new one. Wabba author stated that the list was banned due to server toxicity then kept changing the reason why the list was banned. He then put the ban on hold then officially banned it days later. Don't know what he told you but I'm sure he left out quite a bit of details. It's whatever now. The list is gone, people need to move on.
Sounds like feelings were hurt and when people started asking questions he became hesitant but ultimately let his pride win and ruin a good thing happens all too often in this world
Yeah not like there could be more than one reason lol.. why would bashing others work that they do for free and is easily avoided be toxic? So weird 😂 do that in DMs if you’ve gotta be gamer
Bashing other people’s work should never be a standard in any modding community. It’s childish and strangles healthy cooperation between projects and drags down the quality of work produced as a whole.
I was so hyped for Ultima but that hyped died quickly. So many problems in-game and downloading through wj. The crashes were so frequent I uninstalled two weeks after release. The discord was a mess, this mod "zegoo" muted me for tagging nukt said it was "standard discord etiquette" didn't know that was thing. I tagged vektor in the nolvus discord before and he replied no problems. Glad you brought this to light biggie.
@@inspectormich7637 If that is a rule then it should be stated under the rules. I haven't done it in any server since. Not everyone will know standard discord etiquette.
honestly, I really wanted to play it. I think because it was a 1.0 release, it obviously was to get many people to test out the main components of the game before nukt committed to changing many of the details. At least thats what I would do. Then sift through peoples comments and focus the list into the direction guided by feedback.
i think the root of this problem is because ultima came out not as what they promoted in the first place. nukt trying to be so different and ultimately he went astray from what it should be and people disapointed on the modlist, and hence all of this things happened. hes gone and ghosted everyone now. i kinda feel bad for nukt, and this whole situation is going out of control
Yeah, Modlists are a lot of work. If one makes a rather niche list, it's somewhat doable for a single person, but as soon as it goes viral, you get tons of bug reports, requests, questions. Then you need a team for sorting through reports, giving support, maintaining stuff and so on. And if you don't have a bunch of experienced friends wo can be trusted with such tasks, you are pretty much screwed. This is made worse by pay walls, if you do everything for free, you can just quit or change direction at will, but if people paid for your work you are somewhat liable to provide what you sold.
Almost no modlist has a team because it's hard to manage. At the end of the day, the modlist author is captain of the ship and needs to be the one patching and fixing bugs. Ultima has had no hotfixes since initial release. Just kinda thrown down and left to die.
I've used and played modded Skyrim by Nolvus mod installer and it was amazing. Unfortunately my laptop was not strong enough for top available experience. YT videos looked amazing though - especially with that silver-haired woman playing with samurai sword.
I was never that deep into that whole affaire. When I started using modlists I obviously stumbled upon Nolvus, followed it a bit, gave it a try and that was that. Eventually of course, UA-cam started to shove Ultima in my face. From the first video it was painfully obvious it was just Nolvus with a few tweaks for personal taste. Now, here's the thing: If you take a modlist and modify it to your liking, even maybe improve a few things, that's fine! Perfectly fine! However, what has always rubbed me the wrong way was the cockiness, the arrogance, the hubris: "This is THE BEST modlist ever!" "You won't believe it when it FINALLY releases!" followed by delays, naturally. When people (myself included) wondered what set Ultima apart from its obvious Nolvus foundation, it was usually some "custom" mods, that would of course be non-disclosed due to their nature. This is when I stopped following that childish nonsense. Seeing this video here now then comes as absolutely no surprise.
Like I said in another comment, yeah the videos went viral but the pressure is on his mind or the mind of the person. See, he made a couple of videos with Nolvus as a base, he didn’t needed to create a Modlist or Modpack at all, he just needed to clarify that his modlist was based on Nolvus and put the links of some mods that he was using or just a list with the mods that he added. In my opinion he just wanted to take advantage of the popularity of his videos. I loved how Ultima looked and was hyped knowing that he was promising a modlist (I didn’t even know that was based on Nolvus) but then he changed everything a released a completely different modlist, people was asking for a modpack yeah, but he just needed to clarify and put the added mods, that’s all. He made his bed now is lying in it. 2 million views, 1 millions views, and videos with more than 100k views is good money lol
So many things get "banned" from their petulant site. It's said the modding communities biggest issue is, and will always be the fragile egos limiting the use of a mod. "they made it! be grateful!, how ignorant can you be" A lazy response to an obvious issue no one ever wants to talk about. Once a mod has countless downloads, you'd think they'd have no issue just saying "Yeah use it in whatever you want" The fact that's even a thought is astonishing to me and goes against what modding originally was back in the day. I've been modding games since 1994. Mods used to be a community of creators that weren't as worried about praise, and having their egos brushed on the daily seeing their "download" number go up. What a childish, and petty way of thinking. We created mods to simply bring joy to the community. Most of these creators have pernicious descriptions, arrogant and full of attitude. The entire way nexus is designed is pointless and frivolous. This whole "Permission to download and use, change, or add to something else" is just so worthless. it does nothing for anyone other than the creator. The damage that is done as a whole for the community is staggering. Most don't relies it. imagine a mod pack where everything is just already in 1 file to be downloaded like a regular mod. nope, due to the childish desperate minds of those who make them you need to download every single mod separately. Absolute madness. "You're ignorant, I can't even begin to say how clouded and entitled your view is" It's actually the opposite. Like i said modding first started out as a desire to serve the community, and to make the game better and make others happy. Now it's turned into merely a clout generator and means of praise and flattered ego trip. This is why you think the way you do and many as well. because the foundation with which you think if flawed to begin with. It's disgusting what it's become. It went from a community of cherity and desire to make the game better and others happy to an application of greed and self importance. You'll never understand what I'm saying, because you're nurtured in the ignorance of what it's become. You won't even consider or think about it, it'll just be an automated bot response "You're entitled, you're ignorant" No, the ones entitled are the ones who hold a doctorial grip over a stupid mod, and make life more difficult for everyone else over the preservation of their fragile egos. Nexus is to blame for this. They placed these insolent and pointless limitations which never needed to exist, and overtime groomed modders into what they are now. Just know it wasn't always this way.
I played the Ultima Modlist, The combat was nicely implemented but not something revolutionary. I stopped playing it because of many reasons, to name a few, broken questlines, CTDs, mechanics and mods that weren't working correctly and the overall performance (10-15fps in Whiterun with Puredark's DLSS mod on my RTX 3070 is unacceptable). To be honest if anyone seeing this video hasn't played Ultima they haven't missed anything. To implement Ultima's combat just put together Valhalla Combat wit ADXP and another few mods from Distar and you'll have an amazing combat. I can agree with the toxicity on their discord server, unfortunately almost all the server's moderators were a joke, unprofessional af, almost all bug reports were met by jokes and belittling on the part of the moderators instead of actually giving solutions. To completely blow some steam now I don't know what was in Nukt's head when he made this modlist, I mean 4k textures on books, 16k textures on dragons and other monsters, 8k textures on some flowers and all of this combined with Cities SR, poor performance combination. Not to mention there is no option for a Performance DYNDOLOD. Yeah I was expecting something like this to happen, not a ban, but I was expecting the modlist to be abandoned at some point
Not much of a surprise. Followed the memery from the start, and it was people who were youtubers attempting to build a modlist. The majority of the viewing and content came from the Nolvus base, there was no way the attempt was ever gonna match up. Throw in the harassment and unhinged nature of the staff and discord? Big Omegalul energy. Keep up the good work Biggie, your reviews of lists help keep people away from scams and waste of times.
Sorry to hear that these monkeys went as far as attacking your son, but seeing that Nukt has ghosted everyone the moment Ultima dies they will all run back to hide in their basement
bro could've just made a youtube video on how he enhanced nolvus and link all the mods he added in. there's absolutely no reason to create another modlist but I guess the popularity of his vides got into his head. perhaps he also thought he could make money out of it
On the subject of ghosting their community, I don't actually think they have any responsibility to tell anyone what's going on. Sure it would be nice, but they're not being paid. Unless money is involved and the promises made in exchange weren't completed, they don't have even a moral responsibility to explain anything. If a UA-camr went silent, it's nobody's business as to why. If said UA-camr wishes to explain why they went silent, that's entirely up to them. Though to be clear, I'm just referring to that part. I don't know anything about this other drama and that's not what I'm trying to make a point about.
The problem with ghosting the community is that the STAFF ran wild, tried doxxing people, harassed people in Discords, etc. All of this + inlined stuff in the Wabbajack file meant that Wabbajack staff had no way to get in contact with Nukt for the issues to be resolved. So yes, there is a level of responsibility when you author a modlist.
@@biggie_boss I agree to an extent, but I don't think I'd hold them to the same standard as a business. This isn't a job and, at least as far as I'm aware, those aren't their employees. I would agree that there's an amount of responsibly for what a community facilitates, even if no money is involved. However, this is more the responsibility of Discord and local law enforcement when this is not a business. I'm not condoning these actions by any means and I certainly agree that ghosting one's community is not an ideal move, I simply cannot treat it the same as a company in the same situation. This was just a fun project that they wanted to work on and all of this is beyond what they had planned for. I also can't speak for how they might be feeling. This likely isn't a situation that they're trained to deal with. As for the Wabbajack part, I suppose they would need to respond. I'm conflicted because I don't think creating a list of mods would hold any responsibility in of itself, even if some of the linked mods were pirated as I read in your pinned comment. But I can also see the other side where those pirated mods could be reuploaded and continue to be linked within said mod list. I find this to be a bit conflicting as the real issue is uploading pirated content, of which I believe the uploader and the platform are both responsible for, rather than the modlist author. I'm new to this information so I apologize for any misunderstanding or any inaccuracies. Once again, I'm not condoning any of this behavior, I'm just stating that I wouldn't treat this the same as a company. I wrote my original comment because you said in the video "regardless of the reason", but I don't think they have that level of responsibility, especially if they have other things going on in their life. I'm also not sure how people would know that they're reading but not responding as I don't believe Discord sends read receipts, but maybe that's only visible to molded clients if so (but that's besides the point anyway). Lastly, as far as the doxxing goes, that should definitely be reported to both Discord and the local authorities. At least in the US, doxxing is a federal crime, especially when used as and/or with threats. Discord should be able to assist in passing that information along and I hope that will be taken care of if it hasn't already been. *Tl;dr:* I partially agree, but I believe Discord and law enforcement would be more responsible in this case. I'm also not sure about the mod list in relation to pirated content when the list is only a list (unless it's more than a list, in which case I would retract this part). *Edit:* Actually, I'll go back on what I said. A Discord server owner does have responsibilities even within Discord ToS. I still wouldn't treat it the same as a company, but there is a greater level of responsibility than what I mentioned previously. This is mainly if they were aware of it. Though I still agree with my original comment without the added context of their staff members doxxing.
Nobody is treating Nukt like a company. The issue is that Wabbajack had to make a decision GIVEN all of the things going on. If Nukt had been there to talk to the WJ staff, I'm sure Ultima wouldn't have been banned. It all could have been resolved. It was like a month of 0 word from him.
@@biggie_boss I don't really understand why Wabbajack had to make any decision regarding this outside of some perceived public image. What does a mod list have to do with other people doxxing? I can understand the Discord server being moderated as that's where it occurred, as well as individuals involved, but I don't think this aspect has any relevance to Wabbajack. That's kind of like a business firing an employee because of a post they made on social media. It's none of that company's business unless what was posted breaks some sort of NDA. I also don't understand the pirated content that was mentioned as that is also separate from a mod list. As far as I'm aware, isn't Wabbajack just a program designed to automatically install mods and install them in a specified way? That sounds independent from everything else, especially when the downloads are external and from the original mod pages. If any of those were illegal uploads, that still has nothing to do with the mod list itself. Imagine if a normal uninvolved mod author used an illegal mod in their mod list without even knowing. It's Nexus' job to take down illegal mods and moderate whoever uploaded them. This also prevents normal uninvolved users from accessing the mod list, which seems like pointless collateral to me. Again, I'm not condoning the actions that had occurred, but I think the wrong parties acted. I hope that the people responsible get what they deserve and perhaps this person may be able to get an appeal in the future, it sounds like they're coming back to it anyway by what was said.
You keep skipping over the fact that the list had inlined reshade shaders that aren't legal to distribute. Also the internet has consequences. People make the false assumption that you can hide behind a computer screen and troll. I got slandered personally on their Discord server in a way that had the potential to harm me IRL. So please stop this pointless argument when you are failing to realize the severity of their actions.

Why not just revamp the credits on Ultima to ensure authors are given their due credit for their mods instead of turning this into a witch hunt. Being strapped to an older RTX2060 laptop I'm more interested in mod lists that cater to that instead of ones like Ultima which I could never try to begin with. It's a challenge to find a list that makes the game comparable to such huge lists, but minimizing each category goes a long way.

Stay real Biggie, it’s a breath of fresh air today, even if it’s only a video game.

Apparently mods were being shared in the Discord per Halgari's own message which is publicly viewable in the Ultima Discord. I'm just the messenger.

@biggie_boss good looking out! 👌 ill check those.
honestly, I really wanted to play it. I think because it was a 1.0 release, it obviously was to get many people to test out the main components of the game before nukt committed to changing many of the details. At least thats what I would do. Then sift through peoples comments and focus the list into the direction guided by feedback.
i think the root of this problem is because ultima came out not as what they promoted in the first place. nukt trying to be so different and ultimately he went astray from what it should be and people disapointed on the modlist, and hence all of this things happened. hes gone and ghosted everyone now. i kinda feel bad for nukt, and this whole situation is going out of control
this skyrim modding shit get serious… be ready to d*e behind it
Yeah, Modlists are a lot of work.
However, what has always rubbed me the wrong way was the cockiness, the arrogance, the hubris:
"This is THE BEST modlist ever!" "You won't believe it when it FINALLY releases!" followed by delays, naturally.
Ignore the haters brother. You're my favourite modder/Skyrim UA-camr. Keep it up.
Appreciate it 🥰
What were those weapon mods and can I get them?
poor guy
Nukt is clearly under pressure
"they made it! be grateful!, how ignorant can you be"
A lazy response to an obvious issue no one ever wants to talk about.
Once a mod has countless downloads, you'd think they'd have no issue just saying "Yeah use it in whatever you want"
The fact that's even a thought is astonishing to me and goes against what modding originally was back in the day.
This whole "Permission to download and use, change, or add to something else" is just
so worthless. it does nothing for anyone other than the creator. The damage that is done as a whole for the community is staggering.
Most don't relies it.
imagine a mod pack where everything is just already in 1 file to be downloaded like a regular mod. nope, due to the childish desperate minds
of those who make them you need to download every single mod separately. Absolute madness.
"You're ignorant, I can't even begin to say how clouded and entitled your view is"
It's actually the opposite.
It went from a community of cherity and desire to make the game better and others happy to an application of greed and self
importance.
You'll never understand what I'm saying, because you're nurtured in the ignorance of what it's become. You won't even consider or think about it, it'll just be an automated bot response "You're entitled, you're ignorant"
No, the ones entitled are the ones who hold a doctorial grip over a stupid mod, and make life more difficult for everyone else over the preservation of their fragile egos.
Nexus is to blame for this. They placed these insolent and pointless limitations which never needed to exist, and overtime groomed modders into what they are now.
Just know it wasn't always this way.
Bro, no one read, I read and appreciate your effort in this comment
Is ultima the modlist in this video? Because dang, that looks incredible
Nah that's LoreRim, my modlist. You can still get it

Hands down NOLVUS is rhe best mod list I've ever played.
This would be a game changer for skyrim and elder scrolls online

Why not just revamp the credits on Ultima to ensure authors are given their due credit for their mods instead of turning this into a witch hunt. Being strapped to an older RTX2060 laptop I'm more interested in mod lists that cater to that instead of ones like Ultima which I could never try to begin with. It's a challenge to find a list that makes the game comparable to such huge lists, but minimizing each category goes a long way.

So they banned him because people in the discord was talking shit, a public server mind you, which is only there to provide support for the users? So what now, making modlist is not enough but you gotta also moderate the sub personally incase people act weird, which they will for sure considering this is the internet afterall. If Nukt himself hasn't done anything bad, this all just sounds like egos clashing, nothing more.
No. They banned him because his moderators were jumping into other Discords to slander & doxx people and also because he inlined Marys ReShade shaders.
So he got banned because he put free stuff you can download freely in his free mod compilation and because a third party went off the rails on another third party? Sounds totally legit!
I've speed up the video by 1.25x to actually hear it.
looked like it was gonna be really cool
The discord was a complete mess and the "mods" hardly can call them that as they just sat there watching it burn for the most part were terrible..i made i comment on its release which in fairness i was harsher then i should of been but alot of my points still stood...i later found out my comment got posted in their discord and got harrassed lmao...now with that saying this was early days ultima release I don't blame the mods for melting down later in the month with nukt going MIA
Hilarious stuff, keep up the good work Biggie!
derek you modlist is on the same level as ultima
thats not a compliment btw
Shut up you, scammer
when i think of ULTIMA, i think of the series by Lord British/Origin Studios.... i think i looked at the mod list at some point and said nope, not what i expected... and thats not even mentioning i dont think i could have run that many mods.... not saying the list is/was bad... i just know the limits of my potato.....
why does this gameplay look like some jrpg?
it's called modding
Nukt wasn’t the first and he won’t be the last. Have already seen like 2 or 3 more people who have made lists and are showing clips on UA-cam with a “TM” next to their title with the description even stating that their lists are unstable as hell
I'm going to be honest I thought Ultima was going to be a beautified skyrim with eldenring combat, thought the videos were cool and moved on and was like "I'll probably hear about it when it comes out" and then to see this I'm like oh wow okay this is alot.
Im making a similar list to that one.... But less fps heavy 😂. I tried it, i have a 2080ti destroyed my FPS just on 1080p. It was crazy.
tbf bro these mods mean when the new skyrim comes out people will still be playing this one cause of the mods
New Skyrim?
@@biggie_boss skyrim 2
did it get banned because half the skyrim combat mods are pay walled or something?
ultima is like V-shred a cancerous thorn in the respective communities
what is this mod list?
I haven't been interacting with Skyrim content for months
So I'm really shocked to hear this
Last thing I remember was encouraging Nukt on his vids and being really happy for him when he got his moment on Asmon's stream
Let this be a lesson to all on how to NOT handle a S/O from a larger content creator jfc
what is your horker texture lol
I was completely lost on why it was shut , thanks for clarifying.
Lemme get some recommendations for a power-fantasy list, please! Fine with NSFW but isn't a requirement. Just wanna avoid like horror/survival lists. Help an internet stranger out!
Tried Ultima, was really disappointed with how it looked. It looked kinda weird to me when I moved around. The best Graphics are from Eldergleam in my opinion but its lacking the combat that I like in Nolvus. I am only playing of Nolvus with some tweaks to mods to make it what I want or dont want out of Skyrim.
WTF? I leave for a month to play Dogma and this happens??
Yes, it’s all because you’ve left. This is your fault
