I've been on a mission for that lately. This is way more than adequate as would the A7 or A7 lite be (or that Tab A 8.0 for that matter). I have both a Tab S6 and a Tab A 8.0 (2017) and S20+ but they're both too big and too heavy and too small respectively overall. The lightest tablet I've found that isn't going to be potentially too laggy for me to handle as a spoilt person used to flagship devices (otherwise look into Lenovo M7 or M8 cheaper still and lighter than Samsung's offerings plus puts a 7 inch size on the table or 8 inch) was the Samsung Tab A 8.4 2020 version. It's 60g lighter than the regular Tab A 8.0 but with a better screen (and a better screen than A7 lite too which is what put me off that plus it being no lighter than my Tab A 8.0 and wasn't sure how I'd handle an 8.7 inch screen of the A7 lite. I do prefer my 8 inch I think. Even 8.4 inch might be pushing it. We'll see). I've got one on the way OBNIB from the US as we speak (you can only get them in the US). eBay the way to go there. Wish I got my package so I could update you on how I like the Tab A 2020. If it's JUST for ebooks then look around for other options if you don't want to splash the cash. I've heard people complain about a 720p screen for reading (Tab A7 lite, I think Tab A 8.0) but that's not a big issue for me as I do that on my Tab A 8.0 already, for me it's size and weight that's the prime factor and being able to put a huge SD card in for my massive library which rules Apple iPad Mini out.
...If I want to do fancier things I use my fancier tablets. Consider what your other use cases are. If you'll be doing streaming/media consumption maybe the A7 or A8 is worth the extra money. Else, go with cheaper and lighter so it doesn't hurt your arms.
If it wasn't clear, the Tab A 8.4 (2020) is 1080p as opposed to similar sized A7 lite and OG Tab A 8.0. The A8 will give you the longest update life though. That's something to consider also.

This tab is is so bad I used this poor battery and poor build quality it always brokes
The tablet has not long come out and Samsung devices are usually solid and reliable.
Which is better if it's at same price ( cause Amazon India has said 3gb +32gb wifi model of tab a8 at rs15999 - card discount (2k) .whereas tab a7 15999 -2k card discount ( for the 3gb +64gb model .hardly and difference in specs ( also 10.4 inch -10.5inch )( the screen size different won't be visible.which would you suggest me to buy for long term .i honestly don't even know which processor is better .what's you opinion please suggest .i require it for watching web series /webinars and browsing through the internet) not a lot of work
Go for A8 without any doubt. Unisoc t618 is better and newer chip than snapdragon 662 and have better benchmark scores. And A8 is running on a new software.
