I was just as tore up as you was, crazy how the mo jo can change in da boat when a big fish is hooked an landed. Great quality father son time. Where is your Dad ? U guys are doing for a family trip. An a catch an cook
Yea it’s been to long, He’s doing fine he’s just been really busy. we’re planning on taking a trip somewhere within the next few weeks. Thank you for watching
Awesome that was one nice fish the pay lakes didn't get I guess yuns seen were they caught 9 people catching the big fish and selling em to the pay lakes
Yea it’s crazy that it’s still happening, I have nothing against paylakes with farm raised fish but these pay lakes full of big fish from the river is insane. Thank you for watching.
thanks for all the knowledge you give us Hagen! Can't believe how big Landon has got. Any chance you could make a video on how to locate catfish on sonar? Cant seem to find any out there ... Tight lines brother.
Yes that’s definitely something I plan to do, Chris souders has some good information on his channel about finding catfish on Sonar if you want to check it out. Thank you for watching.
I have not but from what I’ve heard it takes a huge tank with a lot of current and filtration to keep them alive for any amount of time. Thank you for watching.
I don't have sonar I fish from the shore. I go by tides and weather conditions and gadge it from there. I throw a dropshot in or near current and use a lure close and medium distance to locate fish while chunk on dropshot is sitting in the water. If no bites I move. Then I'll put trophy bass on by procure on chunk to add scent to the meat. Procure uses live ground nightcrawlers creyfish and shad mixed and bass, catfish and alot of species love it 😀
Love the videos …we bought some whisker whips couple months ago .. running 40lb ande mono and it seems our hook up ratio is way worse compared to our twc extremes any thoughts ?
I haven’t personally noticed a decrease in hook up rate, but They are a pretty light action rod so maybe not putting enough pressure on hook with the mono. they do make those smaller fish a lot more fun though. Thank you for watching and good luck.
I have thought about that a lot, I think it would help you line up with a fish if you could see it but I’m not sure how well you would see them in heavy current since they are normally tucked in behind something or under something. Might work great though, I’m sure people are experimenting with it. Thank you for watching.
I do use live shad sometimes but the cut bait normally outperforms it in this area in my experience. Even fishing for flatheads. I know it’s the opposite in a lot of places. Thank you for watching.
You are a complete master with that cast net. Perfect spread of the net every time. I wish I could figure that out.
Congratulations Hagen on that fifty pound blue , great fish
What a great trip. That school of shad you caught in that cast net was huge. That monster cat was bigger than any fish I ever caught. Way to go Hagen.

Hi Hagen! I was wondering if you have ever tried to keep skip jack alive in your Striper Soup bait tank for any length of time? Thanks!
I have not but from what I’ve heard it takes a huge tank with a lot of current and filtration to keep them alive for any amount of time. Thank you for watching.
Good stuff right there!
Appreciate it!

Every fish Ky River. We plan to go to old lock by Fort Harrod this weekend. Hopefully can get some flat heads
Yes, we fish it pretty often, a lot of my videos on here are from the ky river. Thank you for watching.

Hagen "Shad Magnet" Grubbs
Got one about 30 around dusk last night was getting chilly till then stayed about an hour after that
What brand of braid are you using ?
I normally use spider wire stealth or berkly x9.
I prefer the smoother braids. Thank you for watching.
I wonder if you could use ff sonar while bumping

I like your vest. You can wear it all day long
Wondering why you don’t use live bates 10/24//024 thanks
I do use live shad sometimes but the cut bait normally outperforms it in this area in my experience. Even fishing for flatheads. I know it’s the opposite in a lot of places. Thank you for watching.
