Hello Hagen from SW Alabama and the Tombigbee river. Really enjoy your channel. My oldest son is 52,,went with him last weekend in HIS boat, burned HIS gas, HE had bait,,,,one day Landon will say "Daddy, just sit right there". Enjoy, and wait for the circle to come around.

I love the fact that not only are you taking your boy fishing, but you are TEACHING him life lessons that he too, can pass on! Keep doing what you’re doing!!

Great video like always. I run Berkley Trilene Big Game line on all my reels and love it.

  • @angrytrucker420

Landon is growing up fast Hagen. Won't be long until he will be to busy chasing them " ol split tail gals" ( as my granmaw used to say) to worry about chasing them cats with you. 😂 great video. Keep up the good work.

Always happy to see another video from Hagen and Landon. Man is he growing up fast.

  • @heathl4257

It’s always good to see you and Landon out there making memories. You didn’t need to worry about eating that tuna packet because Landon was trying to feed you that piece of Asian carp instead 😅

"He just bit the fire out of me!" Haha, I have been there brother and that one made me laugh out loud. And I agree that Ande Monster is the GOAT but that Big Game is great stuff.

Love your videos and your family involvement. My son has a channel too now. We fish together often. We’re out of Cincinnati, which is a tough pool to get any big fish like I did 22-25 years ago. We need to take some road trips. Is the Louisville dam best Ohio River chance for a big fish? We’re all CPR. Catch, photo, release. If you don’t want to say in here. Feel free to message me somehow. You helped me keep my sanity during to shutdown. I think I watched all your videos. Nice to see your son suddenly in growth spurt. Enjoy it. They grow fast!

Hagen, love your show and with Landon, you're always teaching and explaining in laymens terms we can learn from. But with all the teaching you and guys like Catfish Dave, Justin, and Deiter amongst others, I'm stuck in the worst slump of my life catfishing wise. Haven't caught a cat over 5-6lbs in over 1-1/2 years. I've fished for over 55 years, Cats and Carp, and pretty much have caught some really nice size ones over the years. I've now retired, bought a tracker bass buggy 16' and outfitted the pontoon with everything I needed to to effectively catch cats fishing mainly the Ohio river. Trouble is, all the benefits of help available on the pontoon, 50hp Mercury, a Gen#2 - 10" Humminbird with Mega SI and Mega DI, More than I need fishing rod, reels, and terminal tackle wise. Casting nets, everything needed for catfishing. Ive pretty much always have Shad, some skipjack! That newer asian carp bait, worms, b/l chicken. I fish the Ohio River from Lawrenceburg Indiana to the Meldahl Dam, mainy fishing around the Cincinnati area. Have fished probably 4-5 times a month..., and though I've been marking fish, My success rate has been horrendous. I've literally been skunked almost every time out. I've listened to your show among others and used to catch fish from the shore pretty regularly... Almost thinking my hands stink or something. I read shorelines for steepness, laydowns, and creek mouths, spending time trying different points, obvious structures. All seemingly for naught, as many times I won't even get a bite on an outing. I pay attention to hook size, usually use 30lb. test Big Game mainline with a 40 - 50lb leader, hook my bait as shown by you and others. With zero luck. I can fish, and have caught some very good size fish of most of the fish available in this area. For instance, some of my PB's are 44lb Blue, 26lb Shovel, a Striper well over 40#, (no scale), a 12# Channel, just to name some, so I have some experience with success fishing. Just seems like since I got the pontoon, and started fishing the Ohio River, my catch success has been non-existant. In addition to sonar, I use Navionics also. Even with all I've listed as to how I've fished, are there any encouraging words or advice you might lend... I'm at a loss for answers. Fished deep holes and the flats next to them, contour lines, deep channel fishing, shallow flats and creeks, all to no avail. I'm not complaining as just being out seeing nature and admiring God's creation here on earth keeps me grounded. All that being said..., any words or thoughts that might get me thinking in a new direction. I'm in a funk and have no idea how to get out of it. Jim.
