    Your skin looks amazing for a 60 year old, however, this routine has way too many steps for a morning routine for myself. I prefer a much simpler approach. You are correct in saying sunscreen is the most important anti ageing product we can use and should be applied every day.

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Dianne, I know 3 serums are a bit much for many people. Because I enjoy the process I find it’s the sweet spot for me...you are absolutely correct as far as the number one most important daily habit being sunscreen. If thats the only thing you do you are WAY ahead in terms of “anti aging”
      Thanks for being here 😘

    Hi! I know this is an older video but I wanted to let you know that if you choose to get your Tretinoin through Curology, you can start at .01%. Then it goes to .018%, .025%, .05% and finally .1%...the strongest. Many more options compared to where you get yours currently, which is nice because it allows you to build up your tolerance over time. I'm currently on. 018% and jumping to .05% and I'm pretty worried about it but I'll use a moisturizer first and then apply Tretinoin in the beginning, to help minimize irritation. Your videos are wonderful! I just turned 35 and started Tretinoin when I was 34. I've seen incredible results and I will continue to use this forever. It's great to start young but starting at any age is better than not starting at all. Thank you!

    Thank you, such an informative and helpful video! Would you have any recommendations for lactic acid toners for rosacea skin please? Thank you!

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  4 роки тому

      AHAs can be a bit tricky for Rosacea prone skin..but lactic is one of the milder ones. You could try a low dose Lactic acid such as the 5% Lactic Acid by the Ordinary...but patch test and titrate carefully in case it aggravates your skin.
      PHAs or Polyhydroxy Acids are milder than AHAs. The Inkey List has a mild PHA toner that might be worth checking out. Azealic Acid is not an AHA...but it often recommended to treat Rosacia.
      Hope this helps ❤️

    Hi Tamara! Love your videos. Quick question, I have always heard/read that Alpha hydroxy acids (or Glycolic acids) should never been used in conjunction with Vit C-that they are too strong and render the Vit C useless. Ok to use on different days but not at same time. I see that you use a toner with AHAs and then use a Vit C serum. So just curious about this. Another question is regarding the CoQ10 serum. It says it is an alternative to Retinoids so curious as to using it both in the am and then again in the pm while also using Retin-A. Thanks so much!! You look beautiful!

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  4 роки тому

      Thank you Karen, and I am so happy you are enjoying my videos! ... the only thing I can find about layering L Ascorbic Acid on top of an AHA is that is can be irritating to the skin. Both have the potential for skin irritation and by layering the risk is doubled. In my case, the Pixie is very mild (5% glycolic which is pretty low). I have never had any irritation from either product alone, and also no irritation from combining. But it would definitely be a good thing to keep in mind, especially if using a stronger AHA. Could always alternate days if needed. I have also seen people use an AHA at night alternating with RetinA. One thing to note...I use a stronger AHA/BHA mask once a week (I used to use Drunk Elephant Sukari Baby Facial but switched to The Ordinary AHA/BHA mask) When I do this stronger mask, I do not use a Vitamin C after as it would definitely be irritating.
      As far as the CoQ10...even though the claims of stimulating collagen/elastin are similar...it has very different mechanism of action than RetinA and is MUCH milder. I find it very soothing, hydrating and non irritating so I have had no problem layering it on any other actives, incuding RetinA. The other reason I love the CoQ10 is it includes a peptide so it's a double duty serum.
      Hope this was helpful!

    • @karenminton3402
      @karenminton3402 4 роки тому

      Tamara’s Timeless Beauty Thanks for your quick response!!! I guess my comment regarding the acids and Vit C was more from a “what not to combine” aspect (it is unstable and AHAs change the PH rendering the Vit C useless) rather than from an irritation aspect. Are you familiar with the research on that? Thanks again!

    Hi Tamara how often would you reapply sun protection throughout the day especially if your living in a hot climate and your out and about thank you for your reply in advance

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  4 роки тому

      Hi Janet, frequency of reapplication depends on your activity and exposure. If it is a normal workday, where I may take a lunchtime walk I will top off my Elta before my lunch walk and again before driving home from work if a sunny day (car sun!). The Elta tops very nicely over make up. I may add a little powder over the Elta if I need to take the shine down. For outdoor activities such as gardening etc, I have been using the Cotz or CeraVe and liberally reapplying every two hours while outside. Also remember a hat! I am about to post a video on sun protective clothing today...will be up at 9am central time today so check it out.

    I find that chemical exfoliants just aren't enough for me anymore. I have hyper keratinized skin that requires aggressive exfoliation. And that's how I lived my life when I was young, scrubbing the hell out of my face. Then I discovered acids in my 30's and my skin wouldn't build up that surface dry skin (and I use cream cleansers) Now that I am 43 and the cell turnover has *really* slowed down, I need something more. I feel like Retin A would be the answer. *for anyone reading this who's interested, I have KP and that is why I have extra keratin on my face all the time*

    Can you actually freeze the Timeless L-Ascorbic acid? I bought the 4oz size - never tried this brand before, so I'm hoping I can tolerate it. If it takes a while for my skin to adjust, it would be a good idea for me to freeze half. Can you confirm this can be done? Thanks.

      yes, I have successfully frozen the timeless Vitamin C...but that was in the old glass packaging. I am a little worried that the new plastic packaging may crack in the freezer? I have heard this new packaging leaks sometimes. it will also last quite a while in the fridge.

      Tamara’s Timeless Beauty hi Tamara, could you please show us how to reapply sunscreen? Because it really confuses mean as it needs to apply on my face every two hours? But should I clean my face all over again? That would be so annoying.

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  4 роки тому +2

      Anita chow chaleme Hi Anita, reapplying can be tricky. But I do not re cleanse before reapplying. I keep my Elta in my purse. On a normal work day when I am inside most of the day, I may just add a layer mid day or end of the day...depending on if I take a linch time walk or if the sun is shining brightly into my car on the way home. I don’t wear much foundation and the Elta layers nicely over itself. And/or there are powders that contain sunscreen that can be used as a touch up as well. IT cosmetics has a powder with sunscreen as does Color science. For active outdoor days I just keep reapplying every couple of hours. Hope this helps.

      Good morning, how wonderful! I’m so glad you are enjoying the products. Think of sunscreen as skin care and primer as makeup so the If you use a primer it would go on after sunscreen. But make sure to give the sunscreen 15 or so minutes to set down first. I don’t usually use a separate primer, the sunscreen is a nice base for foundation.

    Hi Tamara! Just found your channel couple of days ago, and loving it! Question, how could you tell you do not tolerate chemical sunscreen very well? What were the "symptoms"? I'm trying to find out if that is my case, since I get a lot of tiny bumps immediately after I put my chemical sunscreen on. Thanks in advance and have a wonderful week ahead

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  4 роки тому +2

      Hi Helena, chemical sunscreen sort of makes my skin and eyes sting. It just does work for me. it sounds to me like you have a sensitivity to chemical sunscreen as well. It shouldn’t give you bumps. Have you tried physical mineral sunscreens? The ones I use make my skin look AND FEEL better.

      @@TamarasTimelessBeauty Thank you for replying, you are so kind :). So yes, I have ordered a 100% mineral one from Avene, been using it for 2 weeks now and it is absolutely great, my skin does not itch all day long with tiny bumps like it did with chemical sunscreens. Have a beautiful week ahead! :)

      Hi Renata! Just as I was finishing up my Deerskin Tranex, I went on Curology for my Tretinoin. My Curology formula includes 5% tranexamic acid and 5% Niacinamide! In spite of the fact that I really enjoyed and Think tranex is a great product, I chose not to reorder at this time as I feel I am well covered by my Curology Formula. . I love that Curology formula allows me to simplify and minimize the number of products I use! I will be covering this in more detail in my upcoming updated fall am and pm skin care routines. I am confused. When looking at the Timeless website, Co Enzyme Q10 and Matrixyl 3000 are two separate serums. Which one are you using in addition to the first one you mentioned. Also, I did not see anything about a 50% off sale.

      Hi! The coenzymeQ10 serum also contains matrixyl 3000. The also have a stand alone separate Matrixyl 3000 serum. I am wondering if you have to have a log in or be signed up for emails to get the sale code. I received an email on the sale, but if I just go to the site without being logged in it doesn’t mention anything about the sale.

    Hello - new subscriber here :). Thank you for your content and one question: what made you choose the Q10 serum v. the other peptide serum from Timeless? I had a hard time choosing between the two and ended up going with the one in the pink bottle....

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  4 роки тому +2

      Hi Sherry, at one time I used both the Timeless Matrixyl Synth6 and the CoQ10, (which also contains Matrixyl 3000). And I very much enjoyed the Mayrixyl Synth6...but when I decided to simplify...I figured the CoQ10 did double duty by including peptides as well. I have long taken CoQ10 as an internal vitamin. It is a great antioxidant and I love it both my internally and topically. I really did enjoy the Matrixyl Synth6 though and highly recommend both serums. See what works best for you? Maybe both? Super happy to have you here! Welcome! 😊😘💕

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  4 роки тому +2

      Good question! My skin is naturally quite dry, especially in the winter...so I am very careful not to strip it or over tax it. I use very mild cleansers, rich simple moisturizers, and take care not to over exfoliate. (very mild AHA only). I also make sure to hydrate from the inside out both with fluid intake and with lots of healthy fats in my diet. Having said all that..in general, my skin tolerates RetinA quite well. even so....I study and listen to my skin...if it is feeling extra dry or irritated, I may back off on AHAs and/or RetinA for a day or more...skin care for me is all about balancing the different actives and trying to give my skin what it is asking for. Hope that helps!

    I got the Cerave that you wear under makeup. But it’s 50 SPF. I didn’t know there were two of them.
    Do you reapply your sunscreen on top of your makeup during the day?

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  2 роки тому +1

      This video is a couple years old...I think the SPF 50 is new since then? Reapplying can be a challenge. When I was working in an office, I would apply a layer of tinted SPF before I left for the day for my long ride home. In the summer, it depends on the activity. If I am doing outdoor activities I usually don't wear a ton of makeup and just slather the SPF several times throughout the day. (and a Hat!!) Even if I am wearing makeup I do try to reapply an elegant tinted SPF throughout the day...(It does mess with the makeup and need to touch up blush/bronzer as well). I need to explore some of the SPF powders which sound perfect for touching up SPF.

    Tamara I just found your YT, you have awesome skin! Would you please list the other 2 sunscreens you mentioned in your video and do you have a recommendation instead of the pixie, I have extremely sensitive skin with rosacea. Thank you!

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Rachel, Rosacea can be tricky...you're smart to avoid the Pixie. AHAs in general can be too irritating for extremely sensitive/rosacea prone skin. Although, if very stable and more in "remission" a very mild Lactic Acid can sometimes be used. Two actives/serums that are great for rosacea are Niacinamide and Azelaic Acid. The Ordinary and good molecules both have products containing these actives. The two Sunscreens I mentioned are Cerave Hydrating Mineral Tinted Sunscreen SPF 30 and Cotz Flawless Complexion Tinted SPF 50. for a more thorough review of the sunscreens check out the sunscreen video I posted a couple of weeks ago. It's called BEFORE RETIN A: MINERAL SUNSCREEN FAVORITES.

      Hi Saba, You don’t say if you are new to Tretinoin or what strength you use? Tretinoin can be very irritating. Make sure you are using a low enough strength, and not using too much or too often. (Only use a very small pea sized amount). If your skin gets red, back off on RetinA for a few days. Start low, go slow, and listen to your skin. Moisturize and sunscreen!

Yes I’m using the ordinary with copper peptides about a week now,I’ve been using the buffet regular for a couple years which I’ll continue alternating with the copper every other night🤗
