Welcome Avery! I have enjoyed the PF Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Eyeliner Trio is not overly creamy...and that's partly why I like them so much. They are long lasting tightline on the water line and don't smudge. You do have a little time to work with them when you first apply them if you want to smudge them a little, but once they set, they last a long time. I am about to try the L'Oreal Le Liner, which I have heard great things about. I typed the whole name out, because I have ordered the wrong thing before....the PF liners are not that easy to find...but I do have them listed in my Amazon Store.

I even use the Sukiyaka Suhada throughout the day, pressed into my skin over makeup and/or sunscreen. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling dried out a few hours after application. I put mine in an old spray bottle for ease of use.

I would watch tv, but my husband is "king of the remote." If it is not football (Roll Tide), it is basketball, car channels and POLITICS. I do watercolor some and use to exercise, but I am getting ready for my second knee replacement in February. Before my first knee surgery I walked 5 miles every morning and felt so good......my therapy. I am hoping after the second knee surgery I can get back to walking. I have always been active...gymnastics in high school and college, diving and all intramural sports. This is killing me, but I am determined to start back my morning walk routine. I have been shopping at Belks, Ulta, Sephora and Amazon....hey...I have to get my stash while I can still walk...LOL. Have a blessed week

Do you have video on non prescription retinol product recommendations?? As going to get a recommendation to see a Dermatologist for Retin A will be almost impossible and Curology is not available in Canada.. Thanks 🙏
Hi RoseAnn, the OTC vitamin A derivatives include retinol (the weakest) and Retinal/Retinaldehyde which is closer to prescription strength. so look for products with Retinal or Retinaldehde. I know Osmosis carries some Retinaldehyde products (pricey) but there are some less expensive options like MyChelle and Avene. I have both these products linked on my Amazon page amzn.to/35U7MnP Both PennSmith and Dr. Dray have recommended these products. Hope this helps.

I don't know what is happening with this product! I posted on Penn Smith's Face Book page and people thought it was just out of stock..then someone said it is on hold due to allergic reactions? Which is weird because its been on Amazon forever! The only other place I can find it besides eBay is on a site called Japanesetaste.com....I have not ordered from there before and shipping is pretty expensive...I am checking Amazon regularly hoping it comes back before I run out! Will keep you posted on my community page.
Great question! I didn't include exfoliation in this video, because I didn't want to overwhelm Katy...and it can really be irritating and is SO easy to overdo exfoliation....but I do think a very mild chemical exfoliating agent on the nights without RetinA would be beneficial. Maybe start out once or twice a week. I do like The Ordinary 5% lactic acid serum. Super gentle and hydrating. And/or a weekly exfoliating mask such as The Ordinary AHA Mask or Bay Harbour Beauty Pumpkin Enzyme exfoliating mask. I have a video dedicated to exfoliation in my skin care play list and also addressed in my recent AM and PM skin care routines. Thanks for asking and I hope this helps ❤️
Oh my gosh I know! I have been trying to figure out why it disappeared...I have heard out of stock and also that it was pulled temporarily due to some allergic reactions? Which sounds crazy because it is such a clean and gentle product. I have found if on japanesetaste.com but the shipping is pretty expensive. I am seriously hoping it comes back to Amazon soon! I have 3/4 of a bottle but am also looking for alternatives. I have heard good things about a toner called Secret Key and also NIOD superoxide dismutase but have not tried them yet. Will keep everyone posted on my community page and in upcoming videos.
Darn! But you can get tretinoin pretty easily there? The closest thing you can get to Tretinoin over the counter is Retinaldehyde. I listed a suggestion in the description box...Avene. It is a good Vitamin A derivative which will give you similar results. Hope this helps. ❤️
I've been using Retin A 0.05 % for about a year. I had FINALLY stopped peeling....but now the winter has made me a peeling mess again!!! I guess I forgot to use extra moisturizer and I need to get a humidifier. ❤ thanks for sharing!- 😍👍

Hi Sharon! I have ordered EltaMD through several different places including Walmart, Dermstore, skinstore, and Amazon. All good. I have loved the UV elements Tinted for several years... and I still do love it. But they came out with the new Restore a few months ago and it is even better for my super dry winter skin. The Restore is much more hydrating, and I love the fact it has additional anti aging actives such as antioxidants. I will probably use the Elements in the summer when my skin is not quite as dry (it is hydrating, just not as hydrating as the Restore). But the Restore is lovely for my winter skin. They also make both products untinted, which I do not prefer as it can leave a white cast. So I always have to be careful and make sure I order the tinted versions. Hope this helps!

Hi Mona! I just reviewed the ingredients...all the hydrating ingredients are way high up on the ingredient list and alcohol is second to last on the list. Also, it is simple alcohol, not denatured alcohol so I don't think it is any kind of a problem. Penn Smith highly recommends it...I totally trust her recommendations. I've heard wonderful things about Tatcha! But Sukiyaka Suhada is so much more affordable and I have found it super super hydrating. Happy New Year Mona!

Revitalash! I have been using and loving Revitalash Eyelash Growth Serum for the last couple of years and it has made a huge difference in my eyelashes! When I first started using it, I used it every night and got great results within a couple of months. Since then I use it about 4 or 5 times a week and that has been maintaining them really nicely. As far as makeup...I like to tight line the upper lash line..I think that make the lashes look thicker. Also, I always use L'Oreal Eyelash Primer before L'Oreal Voluminous mascara...that combo really gives my lashes nice volume and length. Thanks for asking!

Jo Jean - I think you would enjoy the retinol product from Truth Treatments. I’ve used Curology and had better results with Truth Treatment’s product. I’d start with the 1%. It’s powerful. You can work up to the 5% as time goes on. Maybe Curology will be available to you by then and your skin can be prepared for the switch.

Hi Carolyn! Yes, I am loving the Sukayaka Suhada....it really does seal in and add hydration. Also, I have been using a richer moisturizer, especially if I am going to be outside. Either the CeraVe Moisutizing Cream in the tub or even a Night Cream for extra emollient/occlusive properties to seal in hydration. I've been enjoying the Mad Hippie Triple C Night Cream for those cold winter walks. I LOVE winter walks! ❄️☃️❄️

The consistency, smell,and overall experience is truly amazing!! I have 2 backups! Oh and I finally tried the Mad Hippie cream cleanserand your right...it is wonderful! So hydrating! Tamara, I also use the Sukoyaka Suhada after my cleansing in the evening, and I've been using the Secret Key Essence after my cleansing in the morning. But, after cleansing and before the essences, I use the Thayer's Witch Hazel Toner. Do you suggest using a toner to rebalance the skin or can it be omitted?

Question, between the two sunscreen recommendations, which has the least orangy tone? I normally go for the lightest shade, but the older I get, the more annoyed I get with face products that have that orangy tone. Ick.
Hi Susanne! I know what you mean...I hate orange tint as well. Especially with my cool toned skin. Between the three that I mentioned in the video, the DRMTLGY is the least tinted, and least warm, it is almost sheer, but then again it is a combo between mineral and chemical. Between the EltaMD UV Elements and UV Restore, the Restore is slightly more warm than the Elements. But I wouldn't call either one orange. (For reference, I find the CeraVe Tinted Mineral Facial sunscreen quite orange). Another excellent suggestion that I did not mention that is not warm at all is Cotz Tinted Mineral Facial Sunscreen SPF 50. I really enjoy this one as well: go.magik.ly/ml/13yr5/ Hope this helps!

Hi Tamara ! Just curious, do you recommend any waiting times between these steps. In the morning, I wait 10 minutes or so to apply my sunscreen after my moisturizer. Making sure everything is dry. I also do this before I apply my Tretinoin at night. I make sure my skin is dry before applying the Tretinoin. Then I would wait to apply moisturizer. I really haven’t had any irritation at all. Thanks for the toner recommendations! I just ordered!
That's a really good point Cj. I do find that waiting a few minutes between moisturizer and sunscreens helps the sunscreen go on more smoothly and can reduce the risk of pilling. Other than that, I sometimes wait between steps and sometimes don't. Sometimes, I just need to get products on my skin before my skin dries out too much. Thank you for bringing this up! I think I'll add a note to the description box. I hope you love the toner as much as I do! ❤️
Where in the am routine does the Vit C fit in. Been using for awhile all these products but I cannot figure out the order. No problems with the tret and Vit C. Just can never figure out the order🤦♀️. Congratulations on your anniversary. When do we get skin care 102?...Thanks
I put my vitamin C on after I do a quick cleanse. I sweat through the night so my face always feels gross in the morning. Then I apply my moisturizer and sunscreen.
Thank you Randi! Vitamin C would be in the morning...the antioxidant helps protect the skin throughout the day. In the AM: cleanse, C, moisturize and sunscreen. RetinA at night. I even use the Sukiyaka Suhada throughout the day, pressed into my skin over makeup and/or sunscreen. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling dried out a few hours after application. I put mine in an old spray bottle for ease of use.

Happy Anniversary !!!!! So glad I found you on You Tube. You are actually the first and only person I subscribe to. I have been on You Tube off and on but since the pandemic....oh my goodness. I would watch tv, but my husband is "king of the remote." If it is not football (Roll Tide), it is basketball, car channels and POLITICS. I do watercolor some and use to exercise, but I am getting ready for my second knee replacement in February. Before my first knee surgery I walked 5 miles every morning and felt so good......my therapy. I am hoping after the second knee surgery I can get back to walking. I have always been active...gymnastics in high school and college, diving and all intramural sports. This is killing me, but I am determined to start back my morning walk routine. I have been shopping at Belks, Ulta, Sephora and Amazon....hey...I have to get my stash while I can still walk...LOL. Have a blessed week

Do you have video on non prescription retinol product recommendations?? As going to get a recommendation to see a Dermatologist for Retin A will be almost impossible and Curology is not available in Canada.. Thanks 🙏
Hi RoseAnn, the OTC vitamin A derivatives include retinol (the weakest) and Retinal/Retinaldehyde which is closer to prescription strength. so look for products with Retinal or Retinaldehde. I know Osmosis carries some Retinaldehyde products (pricey) but there are some less expensive options like MyChelle and Avene. I have both these products linked on my Amazon page amzn.to/35U7MnP
Both PennSmith and Dr. Dray have recommended these products. Hope this helps.

I can't find the sukaka urea toner lotion (sp). The link isn't working 😒
I don't know what is happening with this product! I posted on Penn Smith's Face Book page and people thought it was just out of stock..then someone said it is on hold due to allergic reactions? Which is weird because its been on Amazon forever! The only other place I can find it besides eBay is on a site called Japanesetaste.com....I have not ordered from there before and shipping is pretty expensive...I am checking Amazon regularly hoping it comes back before I run out! Will keep you posted on my community page.
Tamara do you think first time users of this routine because a friend is asking , is it good to use an exfoliating agent of some sort ?
Great question! I didn't include exfoliation in this video, because I didn't want to overwhelm Katy...and it can really be irritating and is SO easy to overdo exfoliation....but I do think a very mild chemical exfoliating agent on the nights without RetinA would be beneficial. Maybe start out once or twice a week. I do like The Ordinary 5% lactic acid serum. Super gentle and hydrating. And/or a weekly exfoliating mask such as The Ordinary AHA Mask or Bay Harbour Beauty Pumpkin Enzyme exfoliating mask.
I have a video dedicated to exfoliation in my skin care play list and also addressed in my recent AM and PM skin care routines.

Oh my gosh I know! I have been trying to figure out why it disappeared...I have heard out of stock and also that it was pulled temporarily due to some allergic reactions? Which sounds crazy because it is such a clean and gentle product. I have found if on japanesetaste.com but the shipping is pretty expensive. I am seriously hoping it comes back to Amazon soon! I have 3/4 of a bottle but am also looking for alternatives.
I have heard good things about a toner called Secret Key and also NIOD superoxide dismutase but have not tried them yet. Will keep everyone posted on my community page and in upcoming videos.

Darn! But you can get tretinoin pretty easily there? The closest thing you can get to Tretinoin over the counter is Retinaldehyde. I listed a suggestion in the description box...Avene. It is a good Vitamin A derivative which will give you similar results. Hope this helps. ❤️
I've been using Retin A 0.05 % for about a year. I had FINALLY stopped peeling....but now the winter has made me a peeling mess again!!! I guess I forgot to use extra moisturizer and I need to get a humidifier. ❤ thanks for sharing!- 😍👍

I have ordered EltaMD through several different places including Walmart, Dermstore, skinstore, and Amazon. All good.
I have loved the UV elements Tinted for several years... and I still do love it. But they came out with the new Restore a few months ago and it is even better for my super dry winter skin. The Restore is much more hydrating, and I love the fact it has additional anti aging actives such as antioxidants. I will probably use the Elements in the summer when my skin is not quite as dry (it is hydrating, just not as hydrating as the Restore).
But the Restore is lovely for my winter skin.
They also make both products untinted, which I do not prefer as it can leave a white cast. So I always have to be careful and make sure I order the tinted versions. Hope this helps!

Great video as always, Tamara! Do you ever have any concerns about the alcohol in the Sukoyaka Suhada? I do have it and like it, but it has alcohol and my Tatcha essence doesn’t so I wonder about which one to use.
Hi Mona! I just reviewed the ingredients...all the hydrating ingredients are way high up on the ingredient list and alcohol is second to last on the list. Also, it is simple alcohol, not denatured alcohol so I don't think it is any kind of a problem. Penn Smith highly recommends it...I totally trust her recommendations. I've heard wonderful things about Tatcha! But Sukiyaka Suhada is so much more affordable and I have found it super super hydrating. Happy New Year Mona!

Revitalash! I have been using and loving Revitalash Eyelash Growth Serum for the last couple of years and it has made a huge difference in my eyelashes! When I first started using it, I used it every night and got great results within a couple of months. Since then I use it about 4 or 5 times a week and that has been maintaining them really nicely.
As far as makeup...I like to tight line the upper lash line..I think that make the lashes look thicker. Also, I always use L'Oreal Eyelash Primer before L'Oreal Voluminous mascara...that combo really gives my lashes nice volume and length. Thanks for asking!

Jo Jean - I think you would enjoy the retinol product from Truth Treatments. I’ve used Curology and had better results with Truth Treatment’s product. I’d start with the 1%. It’s powerful. You can work up to the 5% as time goes on. Maybe Curology will be available to you by then and your skin can be prepared for the switch.

Hi Carolyn! Yes, I am loving the Sukayaka Suhada....it really does seal in and add hydration. Also, I have been using a richer moisturizer, especially if I am going to be outside. Either the CeraVe Moisutizing Cream in the tub or even a Night Cream for extra emollient/occlusive properties to seal in hydration. I've been enjoying the Mad Hippie Triple C Night Cream for those cold winter walks. I LOVE winter walks! ❄️☃️❄️

The consistency, smell,and overall experience is truly amazing!! I have 2 backups! Oh and I finally tried the Mad Hippie cream cleanserand your right...it is wonderful! So hydrating! Tamara, I also use the Sukoyaka Suhada after my cleansing in the evening, and I've been using the Secret Key Essence after my cleansing in the morning. But, after cleansing and before the essences, I use the Thayer's Witch Hazel Toner. Do you suggest using a toner to rebalance the skin or can it be omitted?

Question, between the two sunscreen recommendations, which has the least orangy tone? I normally go for the lightest shade, but the older I get, the more annoyed I get with face products that have that orangy tone. Ick.
Hi Susanne! I know what you mean...I hate orange tint as well. Especially with my cool toned skin. Between the three that I mentioned in the video, the DRMTLGY is the least tinted, and least warm, it is almost sheer, but then again it is a combo between mineral and chemical. Between the EltaMD UV Elements and UV Restore, the Restore is slightly more warm than the Elements. But I wouldn't call either one orange. (For reference, I find the CeraVe Tinted Mineral Facial sunscreen quite orange). Another excellent suggestion that I did not mention that is not warm at all is Cotz Tinted Mineral Facial Sunscreen SPF 50. I really enjoy this one as well:

Hi Tamara ! Just curious, do you recommend any waiting times between these steps. In the morning, I wait 10 minutes or so to apply my sunscreen after my moisturizer. Making sure everything is dry. I also do this before I apply my Tretinoin at night. I make sure my skin is dry before applying the Tretinoin. Then I would wait to apply moisturizer. I really haven’t had any irritation at all. Thanks for the toner recommendations! I just ordered!
That's a really good point Cj. I do find that waiting a few minutes between moisturizer and sunscreens helps the sunscreen go on more smoothly and can reduce the risk of pilling. Other than that, I sometimes wait between steps and sometimes don't. Sometimes, I just need to get products on my skin before my skin dries out too much. Thank you for bringing this up! Where in the am routine does the Vit C fit in. Been using for awhile all these products but I cannot figure out the order. No problems with the tret and Vit C. Just can never figure out the order🤦♀️. Congratulations on your anniversary. When do we get skin care 102?...Thanks
I put my vitamin C on after I do a quick cleanse. I sweat through the night so my face always feels gross in the morning. Then I apply my moisturizer and sunscreen.
Thank you Randi! Vitamin C would be in the morning...the antioxidant helps protect the skin throughout the day. In the AM: cleanse, C, moisturize and sunscreen. RetinA at night. I use retin A 3 days and vit C the rest at night. And it works super well. Never togethwr the same day.
