Good video Stuart! A long time having since I've been in the air, was in the TB9 'UE group in Fife until 2011 but not flown since as life got in the way, no excuse I know. Anyway I passed my EASA Class 2 this afternoon and I have my first SEP renewal training flight at Fife on Sunday 22nd, really really looking forward to it! Good to hear you say smoothly and slowly advance the power, really used to cringe sitting in the passenger seat when someone used to firewall the throttle from idle without even a second in between. Keep up the good work and may see you around the club sometime soon.

Thanks so much for the comment Richard - always nice to hear from a fellow Fife pilot. Great to hear you're getting back into it - when i haven't flown for a month or so i tend to forget how much I enjoy it. Then I get back in the air and it all comes rushing back to me. Good luck with your renewal - no doubt cross paths soon. Stuart

Good video but i come with an ADD: start after your engine temperature is on green(better al to be on green .. but at some aircraft oil pressure is more than green when is cold and come to green when is hot ... but also when is too much turation is a problem with to much oil pressure - example can damage the filter if is not kind of old metalic inside) Usual increase power on ground before to start moving - if you can control the pitch of props than better...

Hey man did my first take off on my 5th lesson with tayside aviation and used your tips and my take off was more or less perfect (except I used too much back pressure lol) Keep uploading these type of vids - really helps!!

£180ish per hour of training flight. Recommend a budget of £10k for the whole PPL. Hope this helps, Stuart

You need an aircraft model, I have a replica TB9 G-BKUE model on my desk, a couple of us got one made a number of years ago with exactly the same colour scheme and markings as the real article. I think we sourced them from e-Bay, sent pictures and had them made. If memory servers me well the came from the Far East (Phillipinnes) and were around £90 each, 14" nose to tail standing 9" high on its stand.
