Interesting insight to see what different people find interesting during the PPL groundschool. I hated Air Law… but I contrary to your video I thoroughly enjoyed Aircraft General Knowledge.. I learned so much about engines etc. things I had no knowledge of before. No one should feel intimidated by the exams. When you love something, the studying almost takes care of itself. I did my PPL in 21 days
@@tegjwokjohn1839 When I did it, it was 7 exams. Before I went to the flight school I studied Air Law and was ready to write the exam on day 1. But yes. This was in 2006
I have just started my PPL at the Johannesburg school of flight, i am currently reading through the study material, i have started with the "principles of flight" i find it interesting. cant wait to be a fully fledged Pilot. thanks for the info its great stuff.
You make me feel oh so much better doing the NPPL, only five exams, with an "optional" radio course and examination. I supplemented my study with Anki flash cards, it's an interesting way to learn. Good video, enjoyed it.
Hi I’m in the early stages of flight training. what is the most up to date study materials / Question database for completing (EASA) PPL Theory exams ? Deirdre, Ireland
Hi, I am planning to do my Training for a PPL after my graduation from university, in main while where can I buy the books from? for a cheaper price’s?? Every website has different prices soo please let me know thanks, and also do you think if I should do all the exams before and then do the flying part after ? 🙏🏽
Can i enter the theroy exam of the PPL without study .I mean if i only paid for practical traning only so can this happen in UK like the DGSA system in India?and if this can be ture will the cost be lower?
Thank you so much Stuart for your video. Awesome background sounds used! What's the difference between PPL exams and ATPL exams, since you cover topics like Air Law again? Why do you cover these topics again?
Thanks for great feedback👍🏼 I haven’t done them yet but i believe the ATPL’s go into much greater depth in every topic. The PPL gives us a very broad but ultimately basic understanding of the ground school subjects so for commercial training they go into much more detail. Hope this helps, Stuart
Excellent videos! One question:Is it possible to sit for 1 exam (eg.Air Law)in 1 day then sit for another one (eg.Met) after 2 days in that 10 day sitting period?
Thank you stuart the pilot for this informative video but can i jst ask i am starting my ppl upcoming september do nd am thinking of get all the books for ppl to study in summer holidays wat do u suggest order them for summer holidays or jst wait till i start in september
Great video! I'm currently studying for my ppl ground exams and my flight school gave me the exact same books that you used! Lol. Can I ask how long it took you to finish studying all those ppl books? Thanks
Thanks and you are in good hands with those books! I studied alongside my training and wasn't in a massive rush so took me about 12-18 months to finish them all. If you studied intensely every day you could do 1 every few weeks and polish them off in a couple of months. All depends on other commitments you have. Happy flying! Stuart
You said you did it over three years. I was wondering how you did your hours, for example was it weekly, or 3 lessons a month, or done in chunks (ie, 10 hours over 10 weeks, then a break for a month or two - then 10 more lessons etc).? Thanks.
I booked in roughly twice a month. So maybe 2 hours a month. Sometime 0 if the weather was rubbish.. tried not to take too long breaks during training but sometimes had to due to work commitments.
That's crazy how little questions you have to answer in the UK...here there are 45 questions for each test apart from flight radio which is 25 questions.
Amazing video Stuart! When you said you should ''stagger them throughout your training'' regarding exams, does this mean you can start flying and training before passing all 9 theoretical exams?
Hi stuart, I have a few questions regarding the Private Pilot license; 1) Is the PPL a permanent licence or will it require renewal ever so often? 2) Can the PPL count as a valid private pilots licence outside of EU nations? Many thanks, a new subscriber:)
1) The PPL needs revalidated every 2 years. This can be done by a skills test or by logbook proof of experience. To revalidate by experience you need to have flown 12 hours in the 12 months prior to expiry, completed 12 Take offs and Landings and have a 1 hour flight with an instructor. 2) The EASA PPL allows you to fly European registered aircraft anywhere in the world. To fly out with Europe in a non-EU registered plane you must convert your licence which I believe is easy enough to do. More info here - getintoflying.com/uk-to-usa-licence-conversion/
I know that these videos are for people who speak englis, but some spanish subtitles would not hurt, since I only know the basics about English :'( and I can't understand it all
Thank you all for Subscribing 😀 Let me know what you guys think of this and any other questions you have drop them below ✌🏽
Pls sir guide me about FAA flight dispatcher
Great video mate thank you for your advice Sounds easy if you put the time in

Hardest part is the finance 😢
You sat all 9 ground exams in 21 days??

Good luck with all your training - you will love it
Ppl for 2years?
Have you got your PPL license?
Never thought i'd see a Scotland International teach me about PPL Ground School

Good video, enjoyed it.
Thanks for making that video. It’s really useful especially considering that I’m about to start my training in Scone. And well done against Australia.
Thanks - a fantastic few weeks to be part of 🏴🏉 Really glad you enjoyed the video and good luck with all the training. Stuart

Hi! Can you make a video on how to set up a GoPro in the cockpit so that it records audio too.
Great idea, watch this space👍🏼
Thanks for the advice.
Stuart, excellent video, thanks. Which flight school did you attend?
All the best
I did my training at Tayside Aviation in Scotland.
thanks for the video , can you tell me if the EASA PPL Tutor website is good way to pass the E-exams ?
Actually, I really enjoyed aircraft general.
I’m glad someone did !
Can I do it online & I'm 75 now & used to have a PPL when I was in my 20's
Depends, make sure you can get a class 2 first sir.
Hi. Just starting out on my journey. Really enjoying your videos. Helpful and direct. Staying tuned.
Thanks for the comment and enjoy your training!
One question. Did you do any ground school classes or was it all self taught?
All self taught - it’s not too tricky
Thanks. Off to visit a few flights schools on Friday. Any tips to ask? look for... apart from a crashed plane in the corner ;-)
Wait, is that Scotland and Edinburgh Hooker Stuart McInally?
Can i enter the theroy exam of the PPL without study .I mean if i only paid for practical traning only so can this happen in UK like the DGSA system in India?and if this can be ture will the cost be lower?
is there any accredit online school for PPL theory?
you mentioned apps to help, can you let me know which ones
Can I do my tests before any training but after my discovery lesson??
Ignore me u said this in your video
What’s the name of the iOS apps?
Thank you so much Stuart for your video. Awesome background sounds used!

Do you know who I should speak too, to get in a plane and start training?
your local airfield.
Mirko Ramphul thank you
Very Helpful Stuart! Thank you:)
Thank you
Some very good tips there.
Excellent videos! One question:Is it possible to sit for 1 exam (eg.Air Law)in 1 day then sit for another one (eg.Met) after 2 days in that 10 day sitting period?
Thanks for the message - yes this is absolutely possible and a great way to do it.
Thanks Stuart. Are the Q&As from the Air Pilots Manuals good enough to pass the exam or you need to do more using similar apps?
I would definitely recommend using the APM past papers and not relying solely on the Q&As at the back of each textbook chapter. Or check out the apps!
Thank you stuart the pilot for this informative video but can i jst ask i am starting my ppl upcoming september do nd am thinking of get all the books for ppl to study in summer holidays wat do u suggest order them for summer holidays or jst wait till i start in september
Read the air law section first. That will be your first exam to allow you to fly solo. Also fun to work your way through the flight training book👍🏼
Recently passed my air law, also training at Fife airport 🙂
Congratulations, enjoy the training !

Can somebody give me guidance on what’s the best PPL app to use
You said you did it over three years. I was wondering how you did your hours, for example was it weekly, or 3 lessons a month, or done in chunks (ie, 10 hours over 10 weeks, then a break for a month or two - then 10 more lessons etc).? Thanks.

Stuart The Pilot thanks. I could only afford 2/3 lessons a month and wasn’t sure if it was doable.
It would be great if you did a video breaking down the cost of flying once you pass PPL. (Ie, plane shares, costs, fuel, keeping current). Thanks.
That's crazy how little questions you have to answer in the UK...here there are 45 questions for each test apart from flight radio which is 25 questions.
What are the name of the apps you mentioned to practice on ?
yeah me too, I cudn't find anything
So how old do you have to be to sit the exams? 16?
Great video, very helpful, love how you're through but quick! :)
Thanks again ! Always enjoy reading your positive comments😀
Really helpful. Thanks man!
Glad it helped!
Thanks for these videos brother. Aha they are amazing. I want to cop a helicopter if i manage to get my PPl licence, that would be ace.
Any link for the past papers please?
Hope this helps - www.flightstore.co.uk/pilot-training-c870/ppl-exams-revision-c887
excellent video keep the good content coming very helpful
Thanks mate
Nice job Stuart. 👍
Thanks mate
Are all the exams multiple choice? Or are they essay based?
Never mind, just read the description.
What was the practice book called?
I used the Air Pilots Manuals. Available on Flightstore.co.uk
Amazing video Stuart! When you said you should ''stagger them throughout your training'' regarding exams, does this mean you can start flying and training before passing all 9 theoretical exams?
Yes you can start flying before doing any theory. There is one exam (Air Law) you have to pass before flying solo, but that’s it
Great video! I'll be sure to keep an eye out on your others. Subscribe!! 😉😀
