  • The jump contrast method is not used a lot but is very effective to increase power output and enhance speed.
    The concept is to do the eccentric phase WITH a load and then let the load go just before jumping as high as you can. That way you can benefit from the muscle tension of the eccentric phase and transfer it to the concentric phase.

    Awesome info coach! Fred Hatefield always said that he would jump as high as he could right before attempting a max squat or deadlift and that it would add 5-10% vs not jumping. Seems like similar mechanics and results.
