My wife is deaf. We meet through online dating. In her profile she never said she was deaf. So when we met the second thing she tells me it's she is reading my lips. We had a great first date and really connected, but no signing. Second date was even better, half way through the date she tells me thank you for being so attentive to her being deaf and understanding to always facing her when I talk, and how wonderful I was doing with getting her attention. That is when I surprised her and started signing. My brother was born profoundly deaf and my whole family could sign. She stopped talking and we started signing. The rest is history I like to watch these signing videos so I can practice understanding what and how others sign.
After watching for a bit I thought you were both deaf 😂 I thought you two were just friends and either the bf or gf was busy during the video so one was a fill in for the story. But then as the story unfolded, I was like, they are the couple in question so wtf... which one is deaf ?!!1!1! 😂
As another wife who’s hearing with a hubby who’s Deaf I loved finding this! We’re Australian so I’m so glad you added subtitles.. our story was a hard one at the start but after 15 yrs and two lids later we feel blessed to have found each other.. like I’m sure you both are. Xx much love
I wish someone would have spoken what they both said. The print is a little difficult to read. I’m also hearing impaired. Except I was born with a cleft palate that didn’t help with ear 👂 infections...so been wearing hearing aids since I was about 5...when my parents discovered I wasn’t hearing everything.
Awwww, cute! I’m Deaf and my Husband is hearing. (I’m from the UK though, so I don’t understand lot’s of your signs, so thanks for the captions!) I wish you both a happy and healthy life! 🥰 **Edit** Also, the lady in this vid is sooooo good with the facial expressions! I actually thought she was the one who was Deaf to start with! 😳
I don't understand how you can look on somebodies face while they are signing something. I have to look at the signing to understand anything. Today I am learning basic ASL and I can do the alphabet but it is hard for me. Btw. I am not deaf and I don't know anybody who is deaf but I just like the language.
Ruken Ice. It takes time, you feel like you have to really focus on each sign to understand it. When I was first learning I thought the same way. But now it I never ever look at peoples hands I always look at their eyes and their face because they're so much language there and I was missing when I was just looking at the hands 👍🏼
I've only dated hearing people and one thing I've hated is them not really embracing ASL or them only using ASL some times. I just don't want to always have to read lips.
If someone is dating a person that is deaf and they make no effort to learn the language it shows they don’t really, deeply, care about you. A person that truly cares about someone would take the time to learn the language. They would want to learn, they would be excited to learn. If I started dating someone who was deaf that would be a top priority of mine(to learn sign language)!! I’d want to know everything about the language, the culture, just everything!!!
@Lisa Godin Speaking for a person born death is 10 times harder than a hearing person to learn sign language. Our mouths literally form to fit the languages we speak as we grow up hence why people have accents when they learn other languages. Not the same thing at all. I would just learn ASL, and I wouldn't find it mean at all. I would eagerly learn it.

I'm crying right now! This is so Cute! What a great story!! I took 2 years of ASL and lost a lot of what I learned. But I am happy to say I made a few customers at Chick-fil-a pretty happy when I was able to communicate with them. It made my heart so happy that I was able to communicate with them!
Both of my parents are hard of hearing so I'm a proud coda, this video was a joy to watch and my face hurts from smiling the whole damn time. Keep making amazing videos, love what you're sharing with the world!
This was really cute, I want to learn ASL, my boyfriend is deaf but he can speaks to me in 2 languages I want to be able to learn ASL I only kn a little so he can understand me better I know it must be frustrating for him at times but he never complains ♡♡♡
I really loved the video!!! I'm Brazilian, I know Brazilian sign language. Brazilian sign language and ASL is too different, but I can understand some ASL signs because I'm learning ASL. I really love deaf culture, and I'm in love with a deaf girl. I really loved your history, congratulations!!!!
Wait a second, so, sign language isn’t the same in every language? So there is an English sign language, Spanish sign language, Korean sign language, etc.? I thought it was the same in every language.
OurSignedWorld yes! I'm currently in the Interpreting Training Program at ECC! I was just kind of browsing through videos just to exercise my receptive skills and I randomly came across this one lol.
Yalls story is so sweet! It’s really cool how having a neighbor at such a young age was the start of all of this in a sense bc that’s what influenced taking ASL in high school and then bc she knew some ASL she was introduced to him and the rest is basically history from there. I also love how both of their parents had something to say in the passed but years later both apologized and said they were wrong and they seem to really love their son and daughter in law. I also love that her parents and sister took ASL classes to learn to communicate better. No matter if it’s ASL, Spanish, English whatever most of the time the rest of the families don’t even try to learn they just have someone translate for them and that’s it.
So they have a daughter now and she recently celebrated her 1st birthday. They have a video of signing happy birthday to her - with her family and it’s awesome. So normal as it should be. I was also glad to know about the revelation too
This was a very interesting video. I in a kinda in a weird way found it helpful because, I'm deaf and I had to grow up acting "normal" (i.e. Non-disabled, neurotypical, straight person) so, I didn't get to experience "my" culture (?). So, now at 14 my hearings gotten worse and I'm trying to learn asl by myself. I can speak as I mentioned I had to grow up acting "normal". It's just hard tho (Speaking in english) because, I have a stutter and was forced to take a speech therapy class (My stutter has lessened for the most part). And, even though I don't feel that I absolutely have to learn it. I feel it would help. (Also, sorry for the rant I needed to vent cuz no one in my life gets it)
You two are so darned cute! I really enjoyed watching this vlog. I'm just starting my journey into learning sign and I have no idea where it will lead me. I just know that I feel called to learn the language -- I love it! I've still never met a deaf person, except my teachers. But I can't wait to see how sign will fit into my life someday! Thanks for sharing your lovely story :D

Interesting vid. I wish all the best for you two. :) I'm learning sign language this few months but I hv no one to practice using it except with my instructors and myself in front of the mirror lol. Oh the one I'm learning is BIM that stand for Bahasa Isyarat Melayu (Malay sign language). LOTS of similarity with ASL, except for few signs that i saw in this vid.

My sweetie and I have been together over 27 years, 4 boys (3 grown), I'm deaf with one cochlear implant (and I still have to lipread, sign, or read along, but that's a story for another day), he's hearing, but losing his hearing in one ear, but that's what happens when you get older, blast the music, etc...

It's great to see a deaf and hearing couple. I know both deaf friends and hearing friends who refuse to date a deaf or hearing individual. They often talk about the differences in deaf and hearing cultures as being the reason. Communication breakdowns etc. 👂
This is such a cute video, I’m so glad it popped up in my recommended! I’m trying to learn ASL right now, because I think I would like to work in special education when I am older, and I was told it’s a good skill to know. I am also just interested by the language, but they don’t offer it at my high school, so I’m basically learning off of UA-cam right now. I was wondering how long it took until you became “fluent,” and if you had any tips for learning?
Susie Borda I've been learning for 7 years. But I always consider myself learning because language is always changing. But I'm fluent now. Being involved in the Deaf Community really makes a difference
Simple two deaf and hearing get to know and learn communcation. Basic is the first understanding it may improve and grown the relationship The way is an acceptance deaf person who making a choice No advantages No insult , don't turn monster - angry or frustrated. Respect what deaf person has to say schedule Don't spank the back ! Ftmaybe the person who hates , sometimes scare. An example a robber or police makes the deaf person who feel uncomfortable scarier. Thank you
I love this amazing cute couple, because despite of their disabilities they still managed to let them feel how they love each other so much and your love story is so sweet.
Loved this! Subbed! Your story is so sweet! I used to take sign language classes back in school but forgot most of it 😅 Trying to learn again! Have a great day guys :) this vid had me smiling and laughing all the way through
I really loved y'all's story, I subscribed and will definitely watch more videos :) Also, I'm taking ASL right now in highschool and I've loved it so far, it does get hard sometimes especially for me showing facial grammar but it's just such a beautiful language
That was so cute. And funny about how your parents thought the complete opposite thing about u guys being together than now. I really enjoy watching you guys 💕
I'm deaf and my foster family knows how to sign so does my brothers and sisters also my crew and medic team all my homies family can interpret for me when I read lips they tell me everything and I've specialist interpreters who does it all not only that my boyfriend is still learning to sign
Wow!!! You both look so great couple!! I'm deaf and my boyfriend is deaf we met in preschool and we grew up together till he asked me out on a date when I was 13 yr old and he was 14 yr old and we been together for 6 years from now we're going to get marry!!! I'm engaged!! I'm glad that you learned sign language and be able to communicate with him
Great video! Thanks for sharing! I have met Zach back in 2013 or so somewhere near Sherman Oaks and I believe I have met Court briefly. They are great people! Hope to see you around soon again! :)
Omg my dad told me the same thing and I was actually accepting it and trying to switch to Spanish! But I didn’t do it in time and ASL is hard but I hope it turns up good soon!!
Go Matadors! That's awesome she interprets at CSUN! If anything, I REALLY wish I could have taken classes for ASL while I was there. Indeed a beautiful language.
My mother is deaf & all her friends are deaf so I've been around it my whole life. Just recently found your channel & showed it to my mom. She loves your channel.
CSUN is one of my top 5 colleges, their deaf studies program really interested me. Is it possible for you to share some information about the program and the school in general? It would be greatly appreciated 😊
Their Deaf studies program is fantastic. They have different focuses, community service, interpreter, Deaf lit, deaf Ed and other. I was in their interpreting program and loved it! Great professors!
Such a beautiful couple. Amazing sense of humour. Able bodied men aren't even this sweet or have his sense of humour. I have met some horrible guys who think life too seriously. she is lucky to have found a guy with a good sense of humour. That is super important. U don't have to b able bodied to b a good human being. Relationships last if the couple get along well with banter and humour. Otherwise life would b boring.
do you think it's possible to learn ASL as an older person? I'm in my 30s and am losing my hearing. I will be completely deaf one day. I keep putting off the learning because I think I'm too old to retain it and I waa never good with foreign languages....
I was so fixed on the hand signals but what I found just fab was the beautiful smiles as they recounted their meeting and their journey to friendship ❤
Wow ,that is so cool to see hearing girl & Deaf guy get along & D-a-t-e (lol) , l wish that happened to me l tried dating girls , but found l like guys , so yeah it get Lonely at times but l have excepted it now & will never Marry , thou l do wonder what it would have been like to have kids to .
Does anyone know how it works when a blind person wants to watch a video that is in sign languge with captions and music? Are they able to get the captions read aloud while keeping the music muted? Thank you.
I loved this! I've always wanted to learn ASL since I was a kid, I had never gotten around to it but I've met people who sign, I went to school with students who are deaf and of course sign, so I taught myself the basics like my name, hello, how are you, introduction really, but it's hard to remember and keep on doing because there's not really a lot of people I meet who do sign, but every time I see someone signing, I smile and think to myself "I hope I'll be able to sign fluently one day" it really is a beautiful language and culture! :)
Hey there!!! So glad your watching! We hope you can pick up some signs from our song and then take a class and get involved in a Deaf Community near you:)
YOU GUYS ARE SO CUTE ❤️ My friend and I recently started an ASL club and we were wondering if you can come and introduce yourself one day... it would be pretty cool if you can come 😎❤️❤️❤️
sign language is such a wonderful beautiful language. im currently in ASL classes at my high school. you guys make an amazing couple, i hope one day i can fall in love with an amazing deaf guy also. lots of love!
I would love to get what you're telling us, but since I don't know your sign language, I depend on the English. It's good that you've written a translation. It's a bit hard to read the text because there's not enough contrast, like all black as in closed captions. I'm watching on a small screen.
I always wanted to take ASL classes but I took Spanish which was a struggle. I love this because I've never seen a couple making a video such as this. Thank you for sharing 🤗
You are a sweet couple! Thumbs up! I have respect for you both. And I know you guys feel as normal as everyone else. But I can imagine it's not always easy in a world where 90% of the people assume that you can hear. One big plus, lol you can't hear the dumb or offending things ignorant people are saying. Greets from the Netherlands. 🤘😉👍
I’m going to start ASL classes this summer! I don’t know anyone deaf but had a Deaf prof in university who taught us about the history, and Deaf culture and it got me very interested in learning
I have a story I'd like to share with you. My husband & I are hearing people. We have no vehicle, so our church shared a bus with another church to pick those of us up who had no vehicle, to take us to church. (Wake up. This gets a tiny bit more interesting.) lol. We met a young man on the bus who had lost his hearing years before. He had a service dog. So because I'm a bit of a chatterbox (that surprises you eh?) ......lol....... I was soon chatting with him. He was VERY good at lip-reading!! One Sunday I was sitting directly behind him. He was gazing out the window. I was gazing out the window behind him. I made a comment about something I saw out the window. He responded appropriately!!! I tapped his shoulder to have him turn to look at me.....which he did. I asked him how he knew what I said!! The back of his head had been facing me!!!! He told me that he READ MY LIPS IN MY REFLEXION IN THE GLASS!!!!! If someone else has told me that had happened to THEM,......I would never have believed them!!!! AMAZING!!!!
When you start to become fluent in the language, you don't feel a need to look at the hands. You can look at the face but still see the hands. Plus, it is so important to look at the face because facial expressions are extremely important in sign language and make up so much of the language.
Great story! It's obvious you two are a perfect match. I've been studying ASL and Deaf culture for three years now and it's just starting to sink in. That's because I finally made some Deaf friends! Classes are great but there is no replacement for having a friend or partner who sees how much you want to communicate with them. I am so grateful for all the Deaf folks that have suffered thru my bad signing and my ignorance.
This was the cutest!!!! 😍☺️❤️ congratulations on living life and supporting one another and ALWAYS sticking by one another. Are y’all married now? 😊 Ps. You earned a new subscriber! Lol
Hi ,I am brazilian are deaf. Please true. "Ours father" in english music "nosso pai "in portuguese "Nosso pai em libras". Brazilian is very millhons population by deaf. Difference language brazilian signs and american.
Well, my last boyfriend is my daughter's dad whose biological father is Deaf & we met over two years ago when his deaf father introduced both of us to each other & of course we became an official couple like the next night when we were laying down in the back of his minivan watching Fight Club on the mounted flat-screen TV (Yes, his minivan was his home!) when he asked me to be his girlfriend in sign language, lol. We were together for almost two years until our daughter was born when our relationship got too complicated that it had to end & we just stopped talking to each other completely because of our different interests about our daughter but as of right now I'm fighting to get full custody of my daughter! Wish me luck!
good ! how do they met key of communcation is important, two couple like to learn the benefit of experience... basic sign language how do she tries to meet him? 1 don't offend him 2. don't trick him if he loses , sometimes avoid. 3. don't tempt his money 💰 if he needs to support ... 4. don't convince what he believes to say if she lies to him .. he has option. keep a relationship is better WONDER marriage is what they do in experience of environmental culture than other frustrating they lost the goals.
You guys are cute as shit. Btw i'm in the same boat, and my fiancee (we're getting married this year!) learned ASL because of me, and now she's on the track to become an interpreter :D Keep being awesome and sharing your stories. I try to do the same, if I could just find the time...

The way is an acceptance deaf person who making a choice

My mother is deaf & all her friends are deaf so I've been around it my whole life. Just recently found your channel & showed it to my mom. She loves your channel.
CSUN is one of my top 5 colleges, their deaf studies program really interested me. Is it possible for you to share some information about the program and the school in general? It would be greatly appreciated 😊
Their Deaf studies program is fantastic. They have different focuses, community service, interpreter, Deaf lit, deaf Ed and other. I was in their interpreting program and loved it! Great professors!
You are soooo cute together😍😭🤟🏻
I am so happy that youtube recommended me this video😄

Yayy thanks :))
Yo are lucky to have beautiful sweetheart Angel wife ,who accept you deaf .❤️💗💗💗😘💕💕
do you think it's possible to learn ASL as an older person? I'm in my 30s and am losing my hearing. I will be completely deaf one day. I keep putting off the learning because I think I'm too old to retain it and I waa never good with foreign languages....
raccoon in a box no you are never too old! You could do it don't put it off. Be positive you got this :-)
I was so fixed on the hand signals but what I found just fab was the beautiful smiles as they recounted their meeting and their journey to friendship ❤
Wow ,that is so cool to see hearing girl & Deaf guy get along & D-a-t-e (lol) , l wish that happened to me l tried dating girls , but found l like guys , so yeah it get Lonely at times

Does anyone know how it works when a blind person wants to watch a video that is in sign languge with captions and music? Are they able to get the captions read aloud while keeping the music muted? Thank you.
You're both lovely. This was a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing.
Ada Balon 🤗 thanks for watching

Any advice on how to improve finger spelling comprehension?? It's my biggest weakness
The more you are around Deaf people the stronger your comprehension skills will be :)

I would love to get what you're telling us, but since I don't know your sign language, I depend on the English.
It's good that you've written a translation.
It's a bit hard to read the text because there's not enough contrast, like all black as in closed captions. I'm watching on a small screen.
yeah we realized that we need to have better closed captions. Hopefully the other videos you watch are clear :)
Just recently stumbled upon this video, happy I did! Subscribed! Ya'll are really easy signers to watch (: keep up the good work!

Sweet stories. You two are great together and such good parents.

I’m going to start ASL classes this summer! I don’t know anyone deaf but had a Deaf prof in university who taught us about the history, and Deaf culture and it got me very interested in learning
Yay!!! So glad you are taking a class
AMAZING!!!!
Wow that’s skills!
My friend was looking at her face while im over there looking at her hands lol😂😂
When you start to become fluent in the language, you don't feel a need to look at the hands. You can look at the face but still see the hands. Plus, it is so important to look at the face because facial expressions are extremely important in sign language and make up so much of the language.
Wow! The sillence of love! Great vid guys! Love it!
:D
Just saw your video and do enjoy watch your video. Keep it up. I will try catch up watch your videos when I am not busy.
Thanks for watching
Great story! It's obvious you two are a perfect match. I've been studying ASL and Deaf culture for three years now and it's just starting to sink in. That's because I finally made some Deaf friends! Classes are great but there is no replacement for having a friend or partner who sees how much you want to communicate with them. I am so grateful for all the Deaf folks that have suffered thru my bad signing and my ignorance.
Thanks for watching :)

Wow that must be really challenging. sorry about that.
good ! how do they met
key of communcation is important, two couple like to learn the benefit of experience...
basic sign language
how do she tries to meet him?
1 don't offend him
2. don't trick him if he loses , sometimes avoid.
3. don't tempt his money 💰 if he needs to support ...
4. don't convince what he believes to say if she lies to him .. he has option.
keep a relationship is better
WONDER marriage is what they do in experience of environmental culture than other frustrating they lost the goals.
Awww this is the cutest!!!

You guys are cute as shit. Btw i'm in the same boat, and my fiancee (we're getting married this year!) learned ASL because of me, and now she's on the track to become an interpreter :D
