My little buddy Charlie just passed last night. He was the same way. The most loyal, kind-hearted pup I’ve ever seen. Mini schnauzers have their own amazing personalities and energies.
@@jeffleas8147 Sorry for your loss. My little Maggie died about 6 weeks ago at age 13 1/2. It still hurts. She was a loyal, constant companion and could be the biggest clown. She always made me laugh.
Smartest, sweetest, most loving puppies I’ve ever had. I had two. They aged but never got “old”. They stayed loving and cuddly until the end. RIP Puppi & Mikey.
I have my fourth miniature schnauzer that's now 2 years old. He's definitely a daddy's boy and my little shadow. He has me well trained! It's the most vocal one I've had. He talks in his Schnauzer vocabulary!!
@@life_as_askyri70 how cool, my Jordan was a standard Schnauzer also. this video reminds me of his puppy days. I got him at 3 months. And he passed away at 9 years old.
My Winston was the spitting image of your pup. He’s 12 now, the last of five. Losing them was terrible, but they brought much joy and love into our lives, and laughs. They are wonderful intelligent dogs, always happy, and look like pups. Many happy years to you both! 😁🧸
He is so so adorable! I had a little mini schnauzer called Woody, he was as tiny as Shelby in this video when I got him for my 11th birthday! sadly i lost him to cancer when he was just 9 coming up to 2 years ago but he was so sweet and amazing! shelby has a similar personality! enjoy every minute with him
Thanks! Yes they have a big personality. Sorry for your loss - you lost your boy way too soon. I lost my previous boy, a Rottweiler, when he was 9. Took me many years before I even considered getting another dog, but so happy I now have Shelby.
I love schnauzers I had a black and white one lost him to heart condition when he was 10 1/2 years old he's been gone two years this month I miss him really bad they are very smart intelligent dogs this one you have is a beautiful little dog I love animals.
They’re great dogs, but do your research first as they’re not for everyone. Small dogs but big personalities which need lots of exercise, training, and companionship to be happy.
@@paulspets9318 I own a patterdale, I'm sure I could handle a schnauzer. It is a breed I've always wanted to own.... one day 😊 Also I've owned dogs for 26 years and been a dog groomer for 23 years. I think I'd be up to the job 😂
PREACH! 🐾❤️ Obviously you are a true animal lover. Docking of ears and tails is cruel and unnecessary, especially with a domestic pet. Even with working dogs I think it's disgusting that they are maimed. Apparently the swooshing tail of a hunting dog can scare away prey, so I can _kind of_ understand the logic (justifiable for people who hunt to survive, perhaps), but dogs need their ear flaps to keep out debris for one thing. In the UK, docking is illegal on the show circuit with all breeds. Hopefully the USA will follow suit soon. I think fancy dog shows are sort of ridiculous (and perpetuate over-breeding), but if they're going to happen let them be as humane as possible.
I find it quite disturbing for so many puppy schnauzers in UA-cam videos not having their full tails, especially in the US, a country supposedly ahead of other countries. Here in South Africa it is illegal to dock any dog's tail.
Back then Schnauzers we’re bred as rafters so their tails were docked to not have their tails but by rats. Today it’s either they are a working dog still and their tails gets docked or it’s just because it became a tradition (cosmetic reasons) and the practice did change for Schnauzers that are purely pets and not working dogs. It is illegal in some countries, and many only do it at vets.
...do check with local vets ... you could end up on the good end of a deal too after all it's a schnauzer... older dogs have a lot to give too if you adopt...
It's animal cruelty to dock a dog's tail. It's used to communicate with other dogs and a docked tail has been linked to increased aggression as the dog is unable to express themselves to other dogs properly. Also, tails contain nerves, blood vessels and more. Tail docking is painful for many weeks for a puppy. It's an amputation. Ask a person with an amputated arm how they felt about it. :)
Um ... they're born with that tail (and those ears) and should not be maimed. They look freakish with little nubs. Thank goodness it's illegal to dock any breed's tails or ears in the UK, where they really love and respect dogs.
What a horrible post! Cutting the tail or trimming the ears off any dog is cruel and completely unnecessary. Originally it was for fighting dogs which is also cruel and now it's just for the owners vanity. My poor little girl had her tail cut off before we got her and we were told that she went into shock because they used a meat cleaver to chop her tail off with no anesthesia. Love them the way they were born.
@@davegualco2995 The reasons behind docking the Schnauzers' tails (and ears) are unrelated to fighting (although it is unfortunately the case with other breeds), but it is a disgusting, pointless, vain and barbaric practice that is now illegal in many countries. A meat cleaver!? Sickening beyond words. I'm happy your girl has a lot to wag her little nub about now. 🐾❤️ If you're curious about the history of Schnauzer maiming and current laws: theschnauzercollective.com/docking-schnauzers-tails-and-cropping-ears-is-it-legal/
I’ve never seen anything ugly about any animal....especially mini schnauzers. I’ve adopted (4) and fostered (8) during my 73 yrs of living. My health issues ... and no big fenced in back yard....and living in a smaller home...have resulted in my taking in two stray cats (years ago) and, for the past 7 years, I’ve been caring for and feeding 13 feral cats (all tnrd). I’ve got huge warm cat shelters in my back yard so they can stay warm and dry. I’ve raised my two girls on my own...worked hard...and helped raise all of of my 5 grandkids (in the evenings, weekends, during summer months, vacation days, etc..). Grandkids all grown up now. Lost my younger daughter to heart disease when she was 37 yrs old. She loved animals...she was a vet tech for many years and a great mother and loving daughter. The reason I’m still here? Well....I have an older daughter, 5 grown up grandchildren, 2 inside cats, 13 outside cats....and the year I lost my daughter (2012) I fostered a deaf 12 yr old rescued mini schnauzer (who had one tooth) named JOY. She helped heal my broken pieces. She was adopted and has two lovely mini sisters and a loving forever home. My doggy fur babies have all passed of old age. Joy just passed last year. Losing a human child or losing a fur baby...the heartbreak is the same. Love is love. Grieving due to loss of a loved one hurts something awful. 😢 I’ve always felt a connection to animals and children. Not so much adult humans. How I miss hugging a mini schnauzer. I love my cats...love my family...and cherish so many wonderful loving memories. Gratitude and love...I’ve learned those from my daughters...my grandkids....and every stray or adopted or fostered animal I’ve ever helped to save. My health, my age and financial issues are not what they used to be....and tho I look at all the mini schnauzers to adopt quite a lot....I don’t think it’s gonna happen again in this lifetime. Ugly is a strange word to use to describe an animal part. But it’s your perception, I guess. I see only ‘beauty’ in every non human being. Humans....now some of them can come across as pretty darn ugly...just by acting the way the way they do. Animals...I just adore all of them.🥰😚

In the USA go to the AKC website for a reputable breeder in your area.
The long tail looks so weird never seen one in person with long tail either way he a cute lil guy
In England it is illegal to clip ears and tail! I have a three year old..chos not to clip ears but tail had already been done by breeder.
... just so long as I can look at you ...I'm fine ...

Is there a biological reason for altering their tail that is beneficial? BTW are U circumcised?

My miniature schnauzer was jealous and attacked my kid when he was three days old so I had to get rid of her.
Riiiight it was the dogs fault...suuuure thing...never the owner.
Now I know why a Schnauzer’s tail is docked. What ugly tail. I’ve had 2 S and 2 Litters of schnauzers they are so precious.

In the UK, you’ll go to court for docking a dogs tail without good clinical reason (and rightly so, in my opinion)
