The distressed puppy noises woke up my cat and she's now glaring at me like Y U DO DIS? STOP HURTING PUPPEH! Silly kitty, puppy is in the computer, and puppy is fine!
My mini schnauzer hated water 😂 He could not swim so we had to put him in a life vest on outings near water, but he adored his groomer so he was an angel during baths and would give her a million puppy kisses. She was just about to move out of our area and called to ask if he needed one last groom. He was almost 16 so I had a feeling it would be his final groom. I took him in to her and she spent extra time with him, making everything perfect and even did a good muscle rub and then we spent the day getting ice cream and chasing birds. Next day he was giving me signs as if to say “I’m ready” and I spent the whole day snuggling and reminding him he was the best boi. His dad took the night shift with him to make sure he could get up to go potty and get snuggles, rubs, and reminders of being the best boi and in the wee hours had passed quietly and happy. I will NEVER forget what his groomer did for him. She was so special ❤ and will be remembered fondly.
That brought tears to my eyes 😢 Went through similar situation with my oldest daughters maltipoo that she got when she was 16 & Sophie was 8 weeks. She had to have her put to sleep at 16 1/2 with several medical issues so she passed away in my daughters arms. As you can imagine, worst day of my daughters life! I'm so sorry for your loss but am sure you have lots of beautiful memories 💕
I have a Miniature Schnauzer that is 14 years young. He’ll be 15 this Christmas Eve. His VET says he’s remarkable for his age even though he was diagnosed with Cushings just last year. He is blind in one eye because of an ulcer and is having dental issues which he is having treatment for. We believe this was brought on by the medicine prescribed that controls his adrenal glands from producing too much cortisol. I dread the day when his time comes to meet our maker. I’m truly sorry for your loss. Miniature Schnauzer’s are an amazing breed. They do have a demanding demeanor, extremely intelligent and are semi-high maintenance especially when it comes to grooming. Not many groomers, as Vanessa confessed, are trained to accurately trim Schnauzers. My groomer that my Teddy seen since he was a puppy, was trained by his mother who was a German immigrant, was always very particular about the Schnauzer cut. He always told me that if the “Cut” didn’t look clean, it wasn’t done properly. My Teddy was always stunning when Rob finished him up. Unfortunately, Rob passed away Thanksgiving morning a few years back. We’ve not found another groomer to complete Teddy’s groom the way Rob always did.
5:40 That’s how you get mini schnauzers to stop crying- it’s their ‘hold me’ noise Which tragically means you can’t make it stop when you gotta do tasks you cannot hold them close to your body for (This has been true for every schnauzer I’ve ever met)
HUGE kudos to the breeder and owner both for not docking the tail! Not only is the dog spared the pain associated with it (yes, even the "humane" ways to do it cause pain!) but the tail is a very important for dog communication and also helps with balance.
Dogs with docked tails can still communicate with it, and their balance is fine. We adopted our dog with a docked tail and she had the most expressive behind ever. You could never mistake what mood she was in. Same with our boxer who we got from a breeder who had docked his tail.
TOTALLY AGREE! Tails are a normal part of CANINE communication (as in, with other canines 😉) I don't honestly know how much of an impediment that can be - probably varies. I know for CATS, though, a tailless cat can have difficulty with other cats due to difficulty communicating.
As Vanessa explained in another video, it can be a safety issue for livestock guardian dogs and I imagine for working terriers. So breeders who still provide working dogs have reasons to dock tails and ears. Not sure how many working lines of mini schnauzers there are, though… But also, yeah, docked tails can be plenty expressive. Our (late)mini poodle had quite a short tail even for the customs of the time-possibly because the end was white-and his communication and balance were nonetheless exceptional… And yeah, let’s eliminate it from purely companion animal lines…
I disagree with docking as it's just aesthetic in most cases (sometimes it's a safety issue for working dogs obviously) but supposedly if done at the right age (around 3-5 days old) the tail has no nerve endings at that point which is why they don't scream while having it done. There is controversy among even vets whether this is true or not though

My Benji got into the trash too everytime I removed the skin from chicken breasts. I had to start taking it out immediately to the garbage can because he started to get sick from it. On the other hand, he managed to find and eat the entire bag of miniature candy bars I bought for the kids for a family gathering. Thankfully he didn't get sick except a horrendous amount of doodoo. His cries are breaking my heart. No wonder my dogs always grow up to be such cry babies! 😭😭😭 Just wanted to give him a nose kiss and comforting words so bad. Maybe a cuddle, too lol
What an adorable squeaky toy of a puppy! It'll be a great communicator and obviously consoled by hugs and contact. I was suprized when it was rather good doing the nail clip. Mine used to dramatically howl so much whenever I clipped each nail; you'd think I was doing something dastardly, and torturing it. Such drama! It's a beautiful dog.
Looked just like my childhood schnauzer, Watson 😭❤️ Zeus was such a good boy, he just had a lot to say! Watson would always come home sort of hoarse from the groomer, and my Mom’s mini Winston also enjoys singing the song of his people at his grooms too.
We had mini schnauzers for 26 years. We lost our last one five months ago, and miss him. They are wonderful dogs!! Always look like pups their entire life. We live in the woods, ours were always getting dirty digging and chasing, and had a puppy cut all their lives. Oh the whining is great to hear again…..baths are just horrible to them! And they are talkative dogs, too. Loved your groom, brings back such memories.😢😊😊 that is one adorable schnauzer baby!
I was having a very rough night and I came here to try calm down. Listening to you saying "it's okay" to the puppy ended up being so helpful in calming myself down. Knew my love of this channel was for a good reason
Really? A lot of the small dogs I know are fussy. Toy breeds especially, my yorkie isn't too bad compared to some but I still typically have to hand feed him and even then it's a struggle, I basically beg him to eat some days lol
My miniature schnauzer always approached his bowl like he expected it to attack him. Once he looked it over, he ate it all, but was never aggressive about his food. I don't know what made him cautious of the food bowl. He came that way as a 8 week old puppy.
I can't speak to most dogs, but I knew a terrier who would stand on her back paws to get at the food dish before it even reached the floor. She certainly wasn't incredibly hungry, she never eyed the other dog's dish if it was put down first, she always waited for her dish. It was like she wanted to spend the least time possible away from her toys.
Zeus: “First she dipped me in boiling hot oil!” Venessa: “A pleasantly warm bath” Zeus: “Then she attacked me with a flamethrower!” Venessa: “A hairdryer” Zeus: “Then she tried to flay me alive!” Venessa: “Trim your hair” 😂
I have a mini schnauzer, and when I did her first bath and blow dry, before I even bathed her I got her used to the tub and the sound of the water, lots of treats lol, and now she’s super good in the bath and even knows to shake her fur out on command lol 😂

Right. I think he really just wanted to be picked up. Lol
Miniature Schnauzers are my favorite dog breed. I just adopted my third one a few days ago.
What an adorable "little whiny baby." You can't help but love him!!
He cried the WHOLE time! 😭
I think his squeaker got stuck on "play". So cute and did so well because of your care and patience with Mr Wiggly pants!
Puppy whiney noises make me so sad. Such a sweet little bean.
She is sooo good with her dogs.. honestly it's one of the main reasons I watch...if I live closer she be doing our josie the golden shep ❤
He said I’m just going to cry the whole entire time
That is one of the cutest squeaky toys I’ve ever seen!
Every puppy that Vanessa grooms always demands hugs when dealing with the blow-dryer lmao
(I'd be the same way if I was a puppy tbh, blow-dryers are loud)
I had a mini she passed a year ago. I loved my Joy. This puppy looks exactly as my Joy did.😢😢
If and when I get another dog it will be a Schnauzer ❤❤❤❤
Hes singing the song of his people. Poor beleaguered baby! 😂
Those paws and nose are everything! You survived Vanessa!
My old schnauzer didn’t like grooming until we got to the blow drying. She loved the hot air blowing on her tummy. 🤣🥰
😅😅😂so funny when he was Climbing up your shoulder lol
the little head tilts 😍😍
Such a cute puppy!!❤
So sweet!
Vanessa, I think you should also add the color name of your nail polish! You always have such fun colors!
Aww he’s such a cutie
His cries are breaking my heart. No wonder my dogs always grow up to be such cry babies! 😭😭😭
Just wanted to give him a nose kiss and comforting words so bad. Maybe a cuddle, too lol
Love him as you dry & groom him to reassure him everything is ok & so is he.
I love his adorable white markings. ❤
I'm so glad they didn't dock Zeus' tail nor crop his ears 😍🥰
My GSD’s ears were twitching in her sleep then woke up with the most concerned look on her face! So cute! 😂❤
I’ve had two mini schnauzers. I love that his tail hasn’t been docked and his ears were left natural ❤
He is so FLUFFY!!! ❤❤❤
Poor, little angel. He’s just too cute.
He is adorable. Brava to you for getting to that happy medium between what his owners want, and what he is ready to accept. So cute ❤
😍😭😍😭😍. I'm crying . ..he is so...ADORABLE. ❤️
His little white mustache is so cute! ❤
Zeus is a sweet little guy. He tells you, what he's feeling. He will do great with grooming.
I was having a very rough night and I came here to try calm down. Listening to you saying "it's okay" to the puppy ended up being so helpful in calming myself down.
Knew my love of this channel was for a good reason
He was such a good little peanut for his first groom! ❤
Wowza Schnauzer, what a talkative little Chappy!
Schnauzers are best with a shaggy cut!!
Ohhh, so dramatic 😅. And sooo cute. I had a mini schnauzer when I was a kid. Just love them.
From my experience, 99% of small dogs are fiends when it comes to food, eating it so quickly as if they have never eaten before.
Got a slow feeder bowl for mine. Worked wonders!
@@Gretabpoohone of my schnauzers was afraid of the noise his tags made when he ate…
Personally, I think they're just as cute without the traditional cut.
What a little sweety. Such personality!😍🥰
Zeus: “First she dipped me in boiling hot oil!”
Venessa: “A pleasantly warm bath”
Zeus: “Then she attacked me with a flamethrower!”
Venessa: “A hairdryer”
Zeus: “Then she tried to flay me alive!”
Venessa: “Trim your hair” 😂
🤣🤣🤣
😂
Yeah, that’s what she’s gonna say when mommy gets there!
She’s going to run to her yelling, I’m tellin’. And then lay it on thick. 😆

I'm glad they kept his tail!
Those precious little baby dog squeaks 🥰🥰🥰
I find them annoying
They are still babies so to me it is equivalent to the cry of a human baby. My 2 month old kitten would sound the same way. ☺️
I have a mini schnauzer, and when I did her first bath and blow dry, before I even bathed her I got her used to the tub and the sound of the water, lots of treats lol, and now she’s super good in the bath and even knows to shake her fur out on command lol 😂
