In this tutorial, we will make a complete mission in the Arma 3 Eden Editor and show how to set up Arma 3 missions, create waypoints, set enemy patrols and guard waypoints, create a hostage mission, and use Arma 3 mods. This will teach you all of the basic Arma 3 mission-making skills needed to make Arma 3 missions fast and help create the coolest scenarios possible, whether they are single-player, multiplayer, or in the Arma 3 Zeus game mode!
It has the ability to place almost all objects in the game (excluding roads and most plants) and to create missions with triggers or SQF scripts. The Eden editor replaces the 2D mission editor featured in prior ARMA games, including older versions of ArmA 3.

I dont know if I missed it, but my pc is like budget so after a while on making a mission it start to lag for too much assets, can i make them spawn on the trigger after completing a task?

@@UselessFodder quick question, in the video you used modules to create the briefings instead of in attributes under the general tab. Is there a reason to use one over the other or is it personal preference?
Foe the way I used them here, there really is no difference. In other uses, however, you can utilize triggers to active new entries, modify old ones, ect via module, which is more flexible. Hope that clarifies!

Hey mate, In all the scenarios I make and export to single player, anytime I load any save in those missions im brought to the end statistics screen, is there a way I can save and load my progress? DRO lets me save and load just fine but I cant when I make my own scenarios

The respawn module does not work for me. I do exactly what you show but when players die in our mission it does not allow them to respawn, I have been searching for a solution but cant find find one, do you know what I might be doing wrong ?
Hello, I created a mission like you taught, everything was going well so far. I discovered that the tasks can only be completed by me (host), any other player in the group who tries to complete the task of using the computer does not signal it as completed. How do I make tasks possible for my teammates to complete?
I have suddenly started experiencing the same thing over the past few months. I'm not sure what has changed, because this system has always worked for me. If I can figure out what is causing this issue, I will let you know

For multiplayer spawn. When i put down all the troops, and i play, i can only select one dude to spawn as. (From editor)
Make sure the other units are set as "Playable" in their unit options

Can someone please teach me how to give the command to the reborn AI to enter the vehicle and execute the command and repeat in a loop, it is born, enters the vehicle and executes it, for some reason I can't, the NPCs do not enter the vehicle again and go walk the order

Kind of outdated but some of the modules you put in there I cant locate in the tools. Followed step by step with you but i cant get the menu handler to show its face
It shouldn't be outdated. Make sure you have 3den enhanced mod enabled to see some of the options

I noticed your attributes menu for each AI is way more extensive than mine. For example, I don’t see anything that includes disabling pathing or anything like that. Is that a mod? I apologize if I missed that in the video

Absolutely! In the hold action completion box, add something like this: [[blufor, "BLU"], "message"] remoteExec ["sideChat"]; Put your message where "message" is and this will play the sidechat message for everyone. More info here: community.bistudio.com/wiki/sideChat
i know this is a bit old but im hoping you can help me here. i am following along to learn and when i test out my helicopter support to fly me into the ao i click where i want it on the map and it shows the heli transport icon but when it goes to take off it just goes up and down non stop on the helipad.
That's a weird issue. Are you clicking at an area that's more than 500m away? What happens if you delete the helipad, does it still do the same thing?

@@UselessFodder removing the helipad didn't change anything. i recreated the mission and cant get it to work on anything
the only way ive gotten it to work is have the heli start somewhere off base and then fly to base to pick us up, not ideal but it works that way

I cant get Hostage to work :/
i tried the hide module to clear a helipad but when mission loads it takes a few seconds to hide to objects and my helo explodes
I've literally never experienced that. I'm not sure what the fix action for that would be...
@@UselessFodder i couldn't figure out why it was happening, scripted the helo to disable simulation for a few seconds on spawn 🤷
Have you tried it on a fresh mission file? I've used this trick a bunch and never seen the hide objects module not apply before load

The Eden Editor is part of Arma 3. Open the game and click "Editor" option

If you are using a Compatability mod for one of the CDLCs or are looking at a DLC map like Tanoa, it won't allow you to play those

I got a problem. So i named every my squad that i have in my map but when i press "play" the names are completely different. Pls help
If you mean that you named the player squads and would like that to show up in the multiplayer screen, that is an advanced set up thing in the description.ext. More simply, Eden Enhanced mod gives an option to rename the squads in the lobby screen, but it is finicky

also i know you didn't cover it in your video but do you know how to restrict an arsenal? my friends (bless their hearts) are the kind of people to pick the good old fasioned Sniper rifle-missile launcher combo if given unrestricted arsenal box lol
For the first one, it'd look into the addaction command. If you put that in the NPCs init field, then execute a titletext command I think you'll get what you're after : community.bistudio.com/wiki/addAction
For the second one, I'm sorry to say that there is no way to "blacklist"just a few items. The options are to either have the full arsenal unlocked or to whitelist each individual weapon, backpack, item, etc individually.

I'm going to need more information. What aspect 'doesn't work'. Does it take off, but not land? Is the radio command not available?
@@UselessFodder I fixed it somehow but I connected the players to the support requester and the support requester to the support provider and the support provider to the Blackhawk but when I started the game I couldn't see helicopter transport at the supports. But the tutorial was really good I appreciate it.

How did you start yourself with Eden editor? Did you just play the game and casually picked things up as you went or did you just looked up videos and information?
A good guide for beginners, but as a rule, no one does missions using this method, since the active AI on the map heavily loads the player’s computer or the server that will play this mission. An adequate mission creator will spawn the enemy, his routes, behavior and tasks through a script, and not arrange units and waypoints through the editor. This greatly increases the smoothness of the mission and its load on the PC players. It is better to teach players to create these scripts with preset coordinates, movement points and then call them via an activated trigger through the script, than to place units on the map. Placing troops and targets on the map through the editor is only suitable for local entertainment - nothing more, such a mission would be a shame to put on public display for other players, not to mention multiplayer. Learn scripts!
