Dear Mr. Perera, I commend your effort, but my only regret is that, according to your vision, Sri Lanka will not accept the manufacturing economy. I have lived in Taiwan for 33 years, which is also an island about half the size of Sri Lanka. I have witnessed how this country managed to transform from having no raw materials into a manufacturing center and expanded beyond Taiwan. It is sad to see our motherland without manufacturing, which is exactly what most of our competitors would like to see. Our young people are eagerly waiting for this opportunity. Also, please focus on 3D printing and CAD CAM. I understand the challenges with raw materials, but we can come up with a solution by studying other countries like Taiwan, and S. Korea.
