5:03 Finally, bug trap 1.0. I would like to note that cryo grenades still don't explode on contact. They do instantly explode on contact with enemies, but they bounce a little off of terrain before exploding. Also plasma bursters are plenty useful, people are just bad at using them.
"people are just bad at using them" bro no, just no. The "frag-grenade-like" on other classes don't require 456 iq and luck to use for full potential and they perform on similar effectiveness. Not only that, engineer is the least class that needs this grenade, because anything on Secondary slot does the job of it and does it better. Doubling its pathetic 3m radius up to 6m would at least make it reliable, so its damage isn't completely random chance, Its the only grenade in the game that makes me hate using it.
@@LazyBuddyBan I dunno, man, I manage to use them fine consistently, with no luck involved. Most people who try to explain why it's bad do in fact turn out to just be bad at it, which is fine, grenades are a playstyle choice, but that doesn't mean it's useless. It clashing with secondary builds is also fine because you can build your secondary to do other things with that freedom.
Honestly plasma is not bad, it just got really outcompeted by shredder nade, which basically does the same if not better for the low low cost of not doing it instantly and lowering your IQ by about 10 points
Shredders have the added bonus of making me feel like a mad scientist. The only thing able to make them out of my loadout is a haunted cave, which asks for lures.
great look behind the scenes as per usual, loved the intro and editing throughout. 09:36 claiming plasma bursters have questionable usefulness is a wild take tho
I really want then to add Climable Axes for driller into the game, its such a cool idea even though its almost useless, because you know (DRILLER) has (DRILLS)
i play deep rock but i just want to say, you shouldnt be looking for a fight. if you hypothetically ""win"", it just serves to stroke somebody's ego. if you hypothetically ""lose"" it will just result in a childish and immature argument. i think you should be more open to a *discussion* of why you think deep rock is so great rather than phrasing it as a "fight". a fight sounds like it would help precisely no one and only serves to stir resentment amongst yourselves. its fine to like deep rock, its fine to like hell divers. you can think ones better than the other, they're just video games, its all cool. rock and stone. have a good day lads.
Both have their merits. I think HD2 definitely took some notes from DRG with the passively camaraderie-building lines and actions, but other than both being horde shooters they have pretty different things they're trying to do.
sticky grenade is the goat, tf? it could do more damage (and a buff in general tbh), but i like being able to stick it to a glyphid and have it attack the entire group.
Wish the proximity grenade was used instead of HE, exploding on impact and carving terrain would make it a lot more fun, even if it`s just an explosive axe
@@shwingleman But I want it to explode on my scout... Lol I didn`t even know it carved terrain because it`s pretty bad compared to axes and neurotoxin, hell even the ripper fells better
Rippers are amazing. I will not be hearing anyone out, they will be c4’d. Rippers are super fast to use, bugs? Ripper, gone. Cleaned up. Even better in small choke points where they can loop and obliterate everything. ROCK AND STONE!
He also showed stickys and plasma bursters when pointing out grenades of "questionable use" but stickys are great for getting praetorians to turn around and are a good fear tool, they also do good chunk damage, and plasma bursters, like rippers are bug crowd deleting machines, see a pack of slashers? Now you don't, easy as that.
It just feels redundant. Close-range crowd control is already done well by practically all of Driller's primary builds. Instead of having a second button that does literally the same, I'd rather have a tool that covers for what is missing from the rest, for example, axes providing the single-target burst damage. Though, there's an element of personal preference there as well - I just value versatility in all of the builds, I absolutely hate it when some situation happens in the caves, and the best I can do is to just stand helplessly and hope someone else deals with it (I play a lot of solo and small teams with randoms at haz 5). On the other hand, if you're perfectly fine with ultra-specializing in only a few roles and leaving the rest to your teammates - then you probably won't have any problem with redundancy, since you don't even care about things you're bad at anymore, and for things you're already good at, it makes you even better.
I wouldnt call plasma nade to be of "questionable usefulness", the damage is not bad and you have 6 of them. Sure you probably have a breach cutter doing the same thing, but it's still not bad, and it's probably the only "gtfo from me NOW" grenade out of all the engi has
All engi grenades suffers from shredders being unquestionable OP. I would totally use plasma grenade on a gunner or driller, but i feel like i purposely sabotage myself if im not picking shredders.
@@Steir12 yep very much this. Shredders do what plasma does except you dont need to aim and the tradeoff is that it's a bit slower to wind up. And plasma was already my go-to pick because other nades require more setup and thinking.
The idea of making the stalker so that more people would use a shield link. Perk is interesting to speculate on I hope that they do that with all their updates where they make something that that has a solution already. It's just one of the unused choices whether it's perks mods or overclocks.
I personally don't like this approach very much. The problem with "weak" perks is not that they are weak or bad by themselves, but that you suffer the opportunity cost of not equipping a perk that's stronger. If you decide to equip Shield Link - that means you have to pass up on Dash, Iron Will, Field Medic or some other perk from that category - and just to counter a singular enemy, that you don't even know if it'll be in the spawn rotation at all, and even when it does, only appears once in a blue swarm? In my opinion, Dash and Iron Will give you so much value _in general,_ that they are on an entirely different level from the rest of the active perks. If you want players to have a more diverse meta, then you'll have no other way but to deal with these two Alpha And Omega Perks - buff others to the same level of generality and usefulness, move these two abilities from perks into the dwarves' basic kit (e.g. as a suit upgrade, possibly as alternatives on the same level), or redesign the rest of the game to make these two less dominant (e.g. removing slowdown/stun entirely would be an indirect nerf to Dash).
Shield link suffers from being bad weather kind of perk. It only useful when things go bad and perks that would allow to prevent things from going bad are naturally more valuable, especially for good players. Plus activation condition is kinda wack, you need to locate other dwarf and get close to him and likely you want to use it when the situation is most dire and chaotic with dwarfs jumping around erratically and away from danger.
I really wish they kept the dark style man. AT least give us like... an event for this! Or a new biome thats this gritty and dark. I really loved the old design for biozone!! I want that so bad
Every grenade has it´s uses, I used most of them a bunch of imes and only have a few that I don´t understand how they would be more useful. Even learned that 2 grenades do more then I thought. But I have a small problem with scouts grenades, every ime for a long time I tried using something else then the boomerang I just could not They´re just too good to not use, you can do so much with them and I can´t ever see myself switching them out soon
I LOVE OBSCURE GAME DEVELOPMENT LORE!!!!!!!!!
2:17 Huli hoarder jumpsacre.
Truly this is the horrors Hoxxes holds.
"The vengeance of the Huuli Hoarder" is a classic dwarven horror movie.

9:37 Saw trap and stickies are underwhelming, sure, but plasma bursters are great
Bro, stickies are one of the best options
great look behind the scenes as per usual, loved the intro and editing throughout.
09:36 claiming plasma bursters have questionable usefulness is a wild take tho
It is useful in terms of harming your teammates
Possible engagement bait.
plasma burster is objectively the worst engineer grenade
That intro was amazing
welcome to deep rock galactic. after 9 years in development, hopefully it would've been worth the wait.
Oh, it was
Alas, poor saw grenade. Too cool to be forgotten, too niche to be used.
the duality
I really want then to add Climable Axes for driller into the game, its such a cool idea even though its almost useless, because you know (DRILLER) has (DRILLS)
If they do, they should add a quote for when you step on them: "ninjas have shurikens, dwarves have axes"
Or
"I'm a bearded ninja master!"
3:28 Deep Rock Galactic > HellDivers 2, fight me
I'll make it a 2v? by joining you.
Helldiver didn't live up to expectation, fight me

Internet is 18% pointless argument.

If you want a fight, go to the helldivers community. We're all drg camp here, nobody will disagree with the truth you're saying
They probably had to change from a molotov to an incendiary granade because the dwarves kept drinking the alcohol.
sticky grenade is the goat, tf?
it could do more damage (and a buff in general tbh), but i like being able to stick it to a glyphid and have it attack the entire group.
Ackchyually mr explorian sir the non impact grenades do twice the damage of their impact counterpart so they're clearly very unique☝🤓
Wish the proximity grenade was used instead of HE, exploding on impact and carving terrain would make it a lot more fun, even if it`s just an explosive axe
The HE grenade carves terrain, and you can cook it so it explodes on the bugs instead of on your scout
@@shwingleman But I want it to explode on my scout... Lol I didn`t even know it carved terrain because it`s pretty bad compared to axes and neurotoxin, hell even the ripper fells better
i love the saw roller to be honest, gets annoying bugs on the celing driller cant reach, or locks down a hallway if it cycles around forever

It needs to count as melee, otherwise it's doing the same job as your primary weapon but worse
It also has ridiculously long range
4:30 Now I wanna bridge with axes.

The incendiary grenade we have today is still wildly inconsistent in multiplayer. Even when used on flat surfaces.
We still got a lot of unused nades: Ripper, HEG, and maybe a few more 🤣
Good vid as always explorer!
Contagion grenade makes me think of the superweapon from ender's game for some reason
Может, некоторые мы увидим в Rogue Core. Благодаря изменениям в геймплее, разработчики могут не ограничивать себя в количестве оружия
i will not take this sticky grenade slander

Yea helldivers 2 goes for quantity over quality.
Giving HEs to gunner and molotov to driller makes a fair bit of sense. I also miss drillers climable axes
I scrolled past this comment, said "drillers climaxes??" Never scrolled up so fast to read a comment again
@scorchscale I mean I've never asked him...
if i didn't know you already, i probably would have clicked off. bold intro
2:08 huh. Probably didn't want to be sued by Pixar for throwing what is clearly a modified scream canister.
