Nice sound of the s2000. Smooth Aliasing (without being 'harsh'). The resampling on the other hand is so time consuming.I wonder how the developers programmed this feature. On my TX16W this take just a few seconds and this machine is from 1988 (S2000 from 1995, MPC2000 wich is even slower than the s2000 is from 1997) even the s900/950 is faster.
But it might be not nessecery to resample when the sample source is sped up more than the usual 33->45. On the MPC200 this is often a problem because of the limited tuning/transposing/pitching (however you wanna call it :o) ) but on the s200 you can tuning range is much higher so the source can be much higher/faster. On my Casio FZ1 I sometimes pitch the source +2 octaves while the samplerate is set to 36kHz.

You should put this song back out at the lowest samplerate the s2000 has. I sampled this on tape at 8 bit back in the day. Sounds better slower than it is. Can really here the crunchiness.😊

    i have a special request . . .something I've been curious about..
I am wondering what is the difference if you sample into eg. S900
vs. load the same sample file from S900 into S2000, and play back there?

I can't do it because my S900 are pretty dead I think. I think my RAM board is damaged.

The S2000 transposes every sample to the played note. Everything is converted to analogue with the same sample rate. The S900 has a separate DAC for every voice and actually plays the sample faster or slower to achieve the different notes. So every voice plays at its own sample rate.

Awesome Video and thanks for sharing it! So does this mean that the S2000 has the same sound/sample engine that the MPC 2000 has?

The s2000 is the same ad/dsp/da as the MPC 3000. No sequencer, keygroup capable, way more RAM and enhanced effects card.

@@romanvagner7277 hi Roman. Sorry missed this message
      My setups convoluted.
I have a novation SL MK3 at the start of my chain. This send midi to my 1k and acts as midi interface when I want to use my mpc renaissance or daws. 1k sends midi to all my hardware synths via a through box.
My 25kacts as master clock and sends clock to my 1k and SL MK3 and sends midi to my s2000.
An old DPS12 takes over as master clock when I want to track out standalone.
I use the SL as a sketchpad.
Send the midi to my 1k for arranging tracks.
The 25k takes care of all my drums/sampling and I utilise the s2000 to increase the polyphony or if I need more involved keygroups for multisampled programs

Hey, my friend, I have a dilemma, I like the sound of the Akai Mpc2000 Classic more than the 2000xl, but the Mpc 2000 Classic doesn't have (Resampling) since S2000 has Resampling could you make a live making a beat in the S2000 connected with a midi pad as machine or the same Akai mpc2000xl or Classic? cause I wish to see the workflow that is between working in Akai MPC and Akai Samplers....thank you for all your content. Cheers from the USA.
