The Secret Invasion and New Avengers era got me back into comics in a big way in 2009. Love the Bendis Marvel era. I recently did an entire read through of every Avengers title that came out during that period and definitely say it’s mostly worth it.
You’re absolutely right about the problem with Marvels event omnibuses being in the wrong reading order. Same problem with War of the Realms. I recently picked up the Flashpoint Omnibus and DC does a much better job of putting issues in order
It’s very weird that they seem to think the hardcore fans willing to pay 100+ dollars for a secret invasion omnibus don’t have the attention span to read the tie-ins throughout the main miniseries
They should have placed each story in the proper order. Glad I collected all the issues. The NEW AVENGERS #31 retail sketch variant is the issue to own.
Can I read this omnibu as a standalone(for the show). I know who avengers are I know who scrulls are. I am familiar with the characters. Or do I need to buy any other omnibus to read this?
I have read the main story in TPB format but don't own the omni. Might look at picking it up now as forgot how good a story it was. Be cool in the show if they do flashback scenes to mcu films but edit them to show some of the characters as being Skrull the whole time or for large time frame of mcu

About to call run if she could invasion off eBay almost 2 years ago you know the second it's okay to spec cuz it's okay to spec I want to be able to fund my hobby that's why I do it I don't see anything wrong with speculation or some comic books make some extra money I think it's all good
The mapping in this omni was so frustrating...I don't know why they organize their event omnis like this (with the exception of Age of Apocalypse and maybe some others, but War of Kings and Spider-Verse was the same way)...the one area where DC omnis are superior.
For starters, the Skrulls are supposed to villains, not the comic relief good guys they have been made out to be. Also, they missed an opportunity by already showing Fury off world n bein a Skrull. Would have been way better to keep the Skrulls as villains, not showing anyone as being replaced by a Skrull, could have been a much bigger reveal. Could have introduced Jessica Drew also. Huge miss already.
An expanded reprint of this omnibus and the rest of Bendis' Avengers run would be great. I would buy them for sure.

I read this book like 3 years ago but don't remember anything about it. I do however remember having fun reading the book

New Avengers 1st 25 issues is one of my favorite runs from 2000s Marvel. Back when Bendis actually put out quality stories

I remember enjoying the build up to this event quite a bit. It was good for the monthlies.

You have to read the tie-ins to truly appreciate the story. My favorite was Black Panther.

Very underrated Earth Mightiest Heroes the cartoon show did this story line pretty damn good
