This book needs to be reprinted and the series needs to be completed in omnibus format.
Is the secret invasion omni not Vol 2? Thought it lead directly into it?
@@Teamtherians no it’s not volume 2 although it does go right into it just because it was the event that starts right after this omni ends.

Good News it's being reprinted. Sometime this month or next is the release.
I could be biased but this was easily the best and most creative and entertaining Marvel era. New Avengers, New X-Men, JMS Spidey, Ultimates, Astonishing X-Men and many more.
Easily. The 2000-2010 era has the most consecutive gems
Jms Spider-Man run is the best/worst Spider-Man run ever. It has stories I love and stories I absolutely hate
Hickmans Fantastic four run is this era as well. Which is probably the best ff run ever. Bendis Daredevil, Brubakers Cap run. which might be the best cap run. Alias (Jessica jones) is great. Punisher by Ennis, annihilation and guardians of the galaxy by Abnett and Lanning. This really is the modern golden age of marvel.
@@johnnieriot13 yeah that whole Gwen/Green Goblin thing is something I will always hate and all because marvel didn’t want initial plot of Peter having kids but his greatest enemy sleeping with his first true love was fine by marvel..... I’m just glad that Nick Spencer retconned that abomination.
@@SpiderS2099 yeah, also one more day. Which if I remember correctly was also marvel editorial decision. I kinda feel bad for Spencer. His Spider-Man run was really him just retconning all the terrible choices writers and/or marvel editors made in the past. It was him just fixing things as opposed to him getting an actual run of his own. At least in my opinion. Plus I have t read his whole run. Just the first 4 or so trades. When they announced the omnibus I stopped buying the trades and decided to wait on the Omni.
I've had this Omni for years and just finally last year got a chance to read it and OMG, WTF did I not read it earlier?! Just like you, I tore through this in a few days, and couldnt put it down, even when I was out in public I was toting this gargantuan omni around with me, it was just that good.
Damn! Sp this Omnibus ties together Avengers Disassembled, House of M, Civil War, AND Secret Invasion?? We NEED a reprint!
Bendis gets so much crap now people forget how great he was at the top of his game. Dark Avengers also blew me away. And he was doing Ultimate Spider-Man and Daredevil too.
That’s how I get reading this
The Avengers was almost a dead line before and then when he took over and came up with Avengers Disassembled right away. I remember I was really so against it but I continued reading it and came to enjoy the Avengers very much. He made the Avengers the number one Marvel comics line, even over the X--Men line and stayed that way for years. Now, the "cool kids" like to criticize Bendis and became cool to dogpile on him.
Bendis was on a massive heater in the 2000s. It’s a shame that his legacy has been somewhat tarnished and the only things said about him now are negative. His 2000s stuff alone makes him a top 10 maybe top 5 superhero comic writer for me
One of my favorite Marvel runs ever. This and House of M. Back when Bendis was good. Too bad he can't be like this today....
This story line was when I got back into comics. And David Finch was on point. Was so excited for this team. Good run
Epic review. This was my starting point for collecting Marvel 10 years ago. I drew the line with this being the first content and moving forward from there. Great stuff.

This is a great run. Probably the best avengers run ever. It’s either this or the following one by Hickman. I have all the CCs of this Bendis run. I want to spoil so much stuff but I’ll just say this spider-women isn’t on the side you think

There are a lot of little hints, subplots and threads that get pretty darn confusing... but at the same time that's old school, very much like X-Men and Spider-Man 1970s-80s. It keeps you reading and guessing and looking for the next puzzle piece.
Damn you finished this up super quick! This is one we definitely need a reprint of asap

I need to find this one without giving up an arm and leg. This book is so beautiful. Really great artwork.

One of my favorite all-time Comic runs
Morrison created Xorn and the big reveal was that xorn was actually magneto the whole time. Then marvel editorial was like “but people liked Xorn, nah fuck Morrison we trying make money. Xorn is real now.”
I can't wait to read this book. Just added this to my collection. I was able to pick it up at my LCS. A great addition for any fan.

I read a lot of this run when it was first released, I don’t remember it at all, but I think I liked it at the time.
Looks cool, but it's been out of print for 10 years and I refuse to pay over cover price for omnibuses or epic collections, so guess I'm not reading this unless they rerelease it.

Sauron wasnt important they found a rogue shield base. Also all the characters that come together in the avengers were at the raft except for wolverine. Jessica drew was there so her being added later wasnt a weird addition

Lots of detail at the back of the omni. I remember reading the first few issues around Disassembled but then getting turned off. Maybe it was Sentry? I definitely didn't like Spidey being on the Avengers. I feel like I'd like to read this omni, though. You're right that this lead to so many big Marvel events. The events were awesome, but eventually you know what happens with too much of a good thing.

Honestly i'd like to see this kind of story adapted in a great anime ...here i regret really that Marvel's animation is not as good as DC's animation because we all know it's not possible to have movies for all these stories...but a 60 min -90 min animation, with a nice budget and such epic story...that would be truly awesome.
This was a great read up until Siege. I especially loved the Dark Avengers and wished we had them a little longer.
Dark avengers was only ok to me. I absolutely hated the end to secret Invasion and mike deodato is my least favorite artist. His art was so dark and terrible to me.
I did think some of his art during hickmans run wasnt bad
Great era of Avengers, I just wish they would remap this and include Secret War and Mighty Avengers. Like they did with Hickman's Avengers. The one thing I disliked during this run how Spidey was basicly only a punching bag, even the non powered guys do better than him

Hey Gem, I hope you're feeling well. In the process of building your collection, you can't read every one in the order buy them and miss the obvious best reads. I am definitely waiting for those Avengers runs starting with Heroes Return in 1999 through 2016 to be reprinted.

I believe he said it was just cut off. From what i know skin cancer is the one thing you dont generally have chemo for.

Love this New Avengers era. Too bad the omnibus is volume 1 only. If you like to continue the saga, you can read it digitally or through the trades complete collection.
Yeah, man, this was a great run. It was fun to collect monthly at the time. This was the flagship book of the era. People just like to shit on Bendis now.
I loved this book, but Jigsaw breaking Spidey's arm was one of the most ridiculous oversights, and it annoys me to this very day lol
