You win the best comment award! (I have nothing to give you btw, since I have no sponsorships or brand deals, and less than 100 subs. Hell, I'm not even monetized yet 🤣) BUT, thank you so much! This made my week! I've got three more pad reviews coming and I have more instructional stuff coming, too!
The idea for that came from someone in a FB group after I asked what people wanted to see and hear in a practice pad review. It's a delicate balance between covering every possible sound and keeping the video length relatively short. I seem to keep hovering around 20 minutes. Probably because I like to give a little background history of the company. I got that idea from some of the watch collecting youtubers I follow.
Welcome! I have drumset-centric videos in the works! Part of the goal of my channel is to bridge the gap between drumset players and rudimental players. So, thanks for the sub!
Just picked one of these up. Love it. Had kind of a cheaper pad before this and this is the 1st pad I have really spent decent money on. Now I feel like I have some "pad hands" going on though lol. Just not used to the response and I feel like my sticks sorta get away from me. Kinda sucks lol. Thems the breaks I guess.
The laminate that covers the dark matter makes it feel closer to a solid countertop. Bare dark matter has a little more give to it, which I prefer, but I love the articulation I get from the laminate. I think you can order laminate from them if you want to try it on your pad.
@@paddric_ryan maybe in the near future but i prefer the dark matter version so i don't have to keep replacing the little circle thing how long do they last until they wear out
how does this man not even have a 100 subs, this content is great

This content is insanely good. No other channel makes practice pad reviews entertaining . Good work
I sincerely appreciate it! That is precisely why I started doing these!
Great video. Your video editing is always so engaging and crisp. Can't wait to see more!
Yay! Thanks man! I love seeing your vids too!
Bro! That intro was killer, your production is great dude.
Thanks man! 🥰
Been playing them for 10+ years, brilliant pads!!

oooh my favorite youtuber up on my feed look at that
Girrrrrrrrl, you have been GETTIN' it on your channel! I can't keep up! lol
Crazy how little subs this guy has has some better content then some big chanels keep up the great work
Hey, thanks! I love making these vids!
It definitely replicates the kevlar feel?
I played with dinosaur bones on cowhide heads. Just trying to get up to date on today's drumming.😂
🤣🤣🤣 oh yeah, with the VML, this thing feels like cranked kevlar from the early 90s.

Thems the breaks, indeed. The snare breaks!!
@@paddric_ryan Oh yeeea🤘
wowo dude your content is really fucking amazingg
Thanks! My kids helped with the intro on this one lol
To be fair, the pad feels more forgiving, like a Black Max or a Hybrid Gray if you take off the VML (use a butter knife or a flathead to peel it off!)
That makes sense. I'm kinda nervous to do it. Also, it looks dope with it on, so I'm torn. 🤣
Lap part very good
Thanks! Seems to be a useful section of the review!
What’s your like drumming background? We’re you in DCI or something like that? Just curious
I was a snare drummer at UNT 2001-2004 (we won PASIC in 2002 didn't go again until after I was gone), Carolina Crown 2002, Phantom Regiment 2003-04.
Hey, do you know if there is a difference in the one with the VML and without the VML????
I think they're exactly the same. Seems like the move is to get the one with the VML since you can take it off and put it back on whenever you like.
@@paddric_ryan thank a bunch man. i apreciate it
how long did it take you to get it shipped to you?
I honestly don't remember ... BUT, I don't remember it taking too terribly long.
Woah this is quality content yet so few subscriptions
Thanks! Everyone's gotta start somewhere! I appreciate the support!
The top surface has a thicker darkmatter than the bottom
Ah ha! I knew it! I knew there HAD to be a difference! Thank you!
Laminate or no laminate? What should I get lol
Get it with the laminate.. that way, you can take it off and put it back on whenever you want. 🤓
i have the dark matter version does that version feels like the dark matter version

and i like playing my pads with nylon tip sticks
@@markponekovic3415 I have no idea how long it'll last. BUT, they do include an extra one in the packaging, which is good.
the most durable pad in the market
Oh yeah, the thing is a TANK.
When’s next pad video
Soon! I've got three more planned. The next one is almost finished. Thanks for the support!
Im a lap only drummer...
