Hi there, I'm having a really hard time memorizing the segments that separate the liver such as hepatic veins, portal veins etc. Is there any technique or other mnemonic you'd recommend to make it easier to memorize? Thanks! Love your videos!

Thank you so much, nice and useful video. Question to the IVC sagittal ultrasound section: when you went from AO Section with Seg. II und III lateral to IVC section you past through the left hepatic vein, isn't then in IVC sagittal section already Seg. IV a and b ventral to the caudal lobe?
    Thank you again

The thing is I'm angling from the left lobe, so yes maybe there a bit of segment 4 posteriorly but I haven't passed the falciform ligament yet and therein lies some of the confusion with the segments in US, you could have the probe in the same spot but be angling 3 dimensionally anywhere to include adjacent segments.
It's much more clear cut with CT and MRI

@@hamoudnasser79 yeah on second look you're right there must be segment 4 just poster to 2/3 and anterior to 1... Dammit hopefully I can edit the video with some annotation on UA-cam. Thanks for you're comment though this helps to make everything better and more accurate. Happy new year

probably the only one that is still lost as soon as those ultrasound images go up there. Have no idea how to pick which segment I am looking at if I am looking at an ultrasound image vs. a draw picture of the liver. HELPPPPPPPP

Sir it is beyond understanding why to mask images by writing on it when both written and verbal language is same this overwritten line hide the video images which provides more concepts..
