If they unironically Release cata and counter its biggest flaw by a faster content cadance they can do that with warlords as well. I like running dungeons and playing all the changes of the classes and casually raiding.
If they do WoD Classic, they need to do it Classic+ and actually finish the expansion. Adding the netherstorm peninsula and possibly the ogre homelands. WoD really had potential but it was cut off at the knees by blizzard.
But was this content really gonna make WoD a good expansion tho? The gameplay in WoD already wasn't that good and wouldn't get good/better until Legion. I really don't think WoD uncut really would have made it better.
I disagree. WoD was wonderful gameplay-wise, the problem was there wasn’t enough of it. It was only 2 patches (and calling the first patch a true patch is generous at best). There is so much they could revisit to add to the experience.
At one point I would have said this myself. However, at this point I wish that they would instead have us go back to AU Draenor and add those missing locations as patch zones. We already have Yrel as an open thread alongside the update that AU Draenor is now taken over by her Army of the Light. It could be interesting to revisit those locations alongside new “havens” for refugees in Midnight or beyond.
Then you and the other little classic andys can go play on a private server, where you all can be stuck in time, and every day will be tbc or wrath :)))
Its interesting that MOP Classic wil be the last good classic before it goes into the bad part of wow. Its funny because Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria are much more closer to classic than people imagine, especially because Legion reworked the entire gameplay structure.
What i THINK will be on the cards is "classic" all the way up to legion, IF they go further then it could be a ploy to get players caught up to retail and get them onto that. @@mcfarvo That's the thing, everyone has their favorite expansions and where they think the progression servers should end. For me, WOTLK significantly changed how classes played and TBC was the last expansion where it still felt like vanilla plus some added features. But WOTLK is undoubtedly a very popular expansion. I think the setting and wrapping up of Arthas's story is a big reason for that.

@@bubbeldibu3687speak for yourself, my favorite time in wow was wrath through mop. Vanilla and tbc just don't hold up for me these days. Although hardcore leveling is fun And then legion had some high points too
I expect they'll releasing expansions at a slowing cadence until they're trailing Retail by like 2-3 expansions, with a similar release schedule. What gives value to this progression version of the game is the opportunity for new or returning players to experience the endgame of the expansions they missed out on. So it would make more sense to either have realms for each expansion, or have yet another version of the game that constantly loops through old expansions at a brisk pace, maybe annual.
I feel like if Blizzard would keep each expansion up as an option to play it would help retain a large group of players. Instead of making you go into the next expansion, have TBC serves WOTLK servers CATA servers. Give the player the choice of which era they want to play and not be force to continue to progress to the next expansion. I believe a large group of players still play on private servers because they can play TBC and WOTLK. As for the server population, if they would increase a realms population capacity and have fewer realms I believe that would help with the dead server issues. I am very much looking forward to Classic+ Servers so long they do it right but that a separate topic of discussion. Great video as always keep up the good content!
I would love to know your thoughts after a time of playing SoD P4. New dungeon, the new coin systen which is incredible, the new 0.5 sets, class changes… I play pala and really it feels as best as ever for SoD. Up there with how much I enjoyed P1 for sure.
A lot of classes feel massively lack lustre or as of 2 weeks ago now copped a nerf which ruined the class for a lot of people, the content is lacklustre and blizzard have demonstrated they are beyond clueless with class balance. Let hand out mobility like candy for 3 phases and then claim x ability doesn't fit for a time with a lack of mobility...makes sense...morons.
Blizzard just releasing Mists Remix is naturally going to kill some of the excitement for people to enter Pandaria again in less than a year. It’s funny because each expansion was the starting point for a lot of new players so I understand why people feel nostalgic for their own particular starting era but Classic should’ve always been vanilla, TBC, and WotLK. Everything else is truly Post-Classic. Classic+ needs to be their focus going forwards, give us something new, give the players something with the feel of Classic Era but with fresh, new content, new races using in-game assets, maybe even a new class or two. SoD was a good sampler but it wasn’t the main course!
yeah no lol. Remix is nothing like actual MoP. It's like logging into retail and flying over to Northrend or going through the dark portal into Outland.
As a MoP private server enjoyer for pvp I'd wish they would announce that the cycle will finish will MoP and let us do the cycle trough all the patches til 5.4k.8. and keep a static Mop Era whilst working on Classic+ while GIVING US 2019 FRESH. And obviously, HELL, please, don't re-rease Warlords of Prunecraft with selfiecameras.
Not played classic since wrath Calling it classic doesn't make it classic.. Waiting for classic+ or tbc+ I love tbc and it has basically just been discarded by blizzard at least vanilla see's some love with SoD You can't even play tbc no more which is sad So I'll play other games until blizzard makes something compelling and it won't be mop or wod lol..
I went into cata well knowing I was just gonna prep for MoP. The theme is just much more my vibe rather than cata. After that I won't be playing any other classics. I didn't for modern wow and I won't for classic. I'd rather go back and go through select expansions again.
Being honest I'm enjoying the hell outta cata and I'd be happy for an accelerated WoD. Hell half of the dungeons already have been turned into M+ ones in retail. 1 year of WoD with m+ sounds like a good time to me.
They actually have a second chance to make dud expansions good. Imagine WOD classic but they add new content and fix the biggest complaints against it. Same for BFA and even SL. It'd be funny seeing people argue WOD was trash but WOD classic was amazing in the future
I think just like how people switched their minds on mop from hating it to loving it, the same could happen for wod. I feel like wod is under appreciated..... yes it's true that it lacked content and seemed a bit rushed or unfinished, garrisons stayed out good but ended up feeling tedious, and the spell ability trimming for classes sucked..... ... but still, classes were still fun to play, leveling experience was great, new continent (tecnicaally old outlands) was well designed with different styled environments,, dungeons and raids were great with some raid bosses being on top ten lists, plenty of cool stuff like rares or rewards for exploration like toys or gear. WoD had alot of cool stuff and I would love to see them expand on it and actually finish the planned content they never got to do. MoP I think is still great and fine as is..... I'm not sure if they will actually go past Cata and redo MoP... I assumed mop remix was their way of letting players re-experience the content. And mop remix seems to be enjoyed by players to replay raids or power lvl new alts. I hope they extend it or do the event again next year.
Most of the complaints about MoP were from people who wouldn't even give it a try. The same complaints never changed from announcement to end - focusing entirely on 'Pandas'. With WoD the complaints ring more true - it lacked content, dragged on for ages and was extremely buggy on release. But the raids were dope - even Highmaul was pretty decent as an intro raid.
@@andromidius Yea, mop was mostly hating on the pandas or the new Asian setting, but otherwise good xpac. Wod had plenty of good stuff, but the lack of content and dragging on with garrisons and stuff, plus the spell trimming sucked. But it had good and bad
What people are gonna hate me for saying is BFA's over arching lore was bad, however the zone lore was amazing atleast in the alliance zones. The thing that made the Xpack terrible was the 2 or 3 hours of grinding for azerite power per character per day to keep up. It could have been good with out that system. Its my feeling that most people never even really got to see BFA as they spent so much time grinding azerite power. Boralus and Dazar'alor are alive in away few places in wow have ever been.
I liked MoP(exept daily grind on release) but i will return only if retail is bad and there is no BC SoD. Only expantion after BC i am intrested in is Legion with fixed legendaries and AP grind.
I think you're pretty on point. I'm actually thinking a month or two sooner. MoP should be amazing. The class design is peak. Lots of guildies are quite excited for it already.
@@MrHowardMoon oh ? Damn, I guess I just wasn’t having fun, it was just my imagination. Any arguments or are you one of those “pandas are bad, because I’m a moron” people
@@Dalex19 I have a few reasons as to why I think MoP was a terrible expansion: 1. Pandas were a ridiculous addition to the game that didn't suit the background theme AT ALL. You can cope by calling me a moron all you like, but I'm not the only one who thinks the Pandaren were ridiculous. 2. Monk was also a ridiculous parody class which should have never seen the light of day. 3. The expansion was designed to appeal to the Chinese player base and this isn't some theory, it's fact. 4. Similar to point 3, the design and themeology was all east asian with a mix of Kung Fu Panda because it wasn't designed to appeal to a Western audience except weebs. 5. They RUINED the story and turned Garrosh into some petulant child. 6. The amount of dailies it introduced which then helped to create the thinking at Blizzard that dailies of that magnitude were ok. I started playing WoW when it had just released. I played it all the way through into WOTLK and then I took a small break towards the end of Cataclysm and came back. When MoP was announced, myself and my guild (mostly) quit the game and I didn't return until the end of MoP. I played through WoD, but I didn't get as heavily into the game as I had been before MoP. I then quit for the start of Legion and came back for the end and played all the way through BFA. I finally quit for good when I saw Shadowlands and I haven't been back to retail since. If anything, Cataclysm killed the game as we know it and MoP drove the final nail into the lid.
If Blizzard wants to make an "Expansion Saga", it would be better for them to just do an "Wide legacy", for people to play from Vanilla to Retail in 12 months
As long as they cut down the rep and legendary quest chain grind it'll be a much better experience than back in the days. Also: lots of retail players will enjoy it. And as mentioned: Classic+ should stick with the SOD 4 experiments. Those are looking good so far.
I'm tired m8. Just give me the original trilogy on a rolling reset and I'll play that into the grave. It's hard to get excited about anything beyond Wrath because it's lost that nostalgic feel. I really think that, at this point, what's stopping Bliz from doing a Cata->War Within character transfer? You're in the new world, you could jump into retail fairly easily. Classic was about nostalgia, it just doesn't feel right to keep calling Cata and beyond "Classic" anymore.
You are very old and forgot to take your pills. Our journey has just begun with the cataclysm and we need at least a year for each add-on to be satisfied, so we will discuss this in about 10 years in the last addon of the saga classic.
I think MoP will be the last one, although I thought Wrath would be initially so what do I know. I think they commented one time that MoP was the last one where they had major feedback that people really wanted to do it again, and I think its the only reason Cata Classic exists. I also wonder if they have not learned their lesson a bit and now see they either need to expand the classic team or they can only do so much. MoP lets them pretty much drop an expansion without doing much where they can just concentrate on Classic+ for 18 months roughly and then call it a day. In the end it has to end somewhere because maybe you could argue for Legion players, but after that we know it takes a nose dive and you also start reaching a point where it just hasn't been long enough for people to really want to go back. It has to stop somewhere, you can't stretch out bad expansions because you are running up on the heels of retail releases.
All i do in cata is log in once a week and raid and i honestly enjoy it. Pandaria has some of my favorite raids, I’ll be content with doing the same then.
I know this has been asked before, but what happens when so-called Classic catches up to retail? Put another way: when "progression" catches up to retail? It usually takes two years between retail expansions. So if "Classic" goes any faster than that, it will catch up. The way things are going, this should happen in about 7 years, and that's going through all of the expansions. Just seems like a countdown to the end of a money maker.
I don't care how good MoP was in terms of the game itself, the bottom line is that anthropomorphic pandas are unbelievably lame and were pretty much single-handedly responsible for me losing interest in WoW the first time around.
I mean, I don't see anyone complaining about anthropomorphic rats, dogs and cows, but I guess if they were the focus of an entire expansion it might be different.
I would think them doing MoP remix would make it easier for them to do MoP classic so I would think that would make it where it could release sooner then expected
For me, Cata is a MoP waiting room. Im looking so much forward to pvp in MoP as it was the first expansion to get balanced pvp. First of all, most classes got alot of cc, interrupt, burst etc. meaning it was down to skill and not rock-paper-scissors. Secondly, the fact that pve gear always gets scaled lower than current season pvp gear is the best change ever made. Finally you can play pvp without being forced to do pve to be competitive at the highest level, because of some overpowered weapons or trinkets. Also, MoP introduced more new bg's and arenas than ever before.
Balanced pvp? lmao this is the first expansion where everyone is literally a jack in a box. Talent trees gave players the anticipation of what to expect. Now you have to wait to see what spells people have. This just feels like retail (MOP)
After the change in Azeroth, all addons became interesting. If you like old Azeroth, then you are an old man and should spend your free time on your grandchildren. I look forward to every next addon without exception. And of course Blizzard will not stop at just some addon, because they understand that they don’t need to listen to old people.
Lmao. My grandchildren have their own lives with their parents. I have a lot of free time and will play WoW. Thanks anyway. Funny thing about people my age, we have a lot of money to spend, yet businesses aim at the younger gens...who don't have money. Go figure.
I always played other mmo's. Even tho I didnt play WoW, I was always into WoW lore. Friend of mine made me play it once Corona hit. Tryed classic and retail at that time. I remeber saying yo him: I wish to experiance every expantion becouse of the story, quests and some hidden gems. I still wish that. I hope they will continue making classic till I come to retail. I have become casual player tho... but still wish, yea.
I was for sure thinking MoP classic would be a thing, but then Remix just came out. I can’t tell if that will burn people out on it and there won’t be interest for classic MoP, or if they did Remix to try and gauge interest in a classic version.
I skipped most of WoTLK and now Cata Classic, but I'd come back for MoP Classic. Original monk was a blast and classes just all seemed to play very well in MoP. The story and some of the raids were a bit meh, but gameplay more than made up for it.
People have said "x expansion is not classic!" But to me, mop is where the line is hard drawn. They'll probably push expansion after expansion for as long as players keep playing, but I'm jumping ship after firelands.
Blizzard will without a doubt continue releasing previous expacs as long as people reliably play it. It's free money, already written and produced. I think we'll be waiting for anything close to wow classic a lot longer than anyone is comfortable with
I believe they should combine all the expansions into one single game and normalize all the mechanics. The main story should end on wotlk expansion, after that all the dungeons and content from the other expansions should be unlocked. It would be a different game but the way they introduced each expansions over the years they kinda shoot them in the foot. I think the main purpose should be a remaster of the entire game. And Microsoft is really good at remastering games. :)
I'll never play cata or panda. Quit wrath with the wow token. Would have loved to have finished but they ruined it. Hate the paladin changes in cata. The pandas ruined the game beyond repair for me. Cant put that back in the bottle. I'm only interested in pre TBC at this point. I loved TBC and wrath, but they were not classic either. I liked both, but not true classic. Space goats and pally horde/shaman ally are no good for me.
MOP after MOP remix is just kinda a weird move. I think they’re either gonna do a fresh classic to BC to WOTLK. Maybe do more with SOD servers after the season ends

Exactly what i thought at the start of this video, how about they finish SoD, cut this classic run to infinity, and just start a classic+ to synch all classic playerbase, and just keep a classic era realm on the side...Maybe they're not there yet and will need another seasonal run, with MoP running alongside to reach this point.
MoP was my favorite expansion, even tho the entire aesthetic was fucked. Raids were great. PvP was at its all-time high, and all my favorite class play styles throughout history, were in MoP

Well good. If they speed up Cata and MoP we will get to WoD faster! (This isn't even a joke btw, I unironically enjoy WoD and want to relive the expansion)
MoP was the absolute peak of WoW gameplay. The expansions before then were either too trivial, clunky or just not right. WoD then came in and pruned the classes too much, and BfA screwed it all up with the god damn global cooldown change. So generally speaking, from a pure gameplay perspective, MoP (and to an extent Legion) was the GOAT.
I’d rather see a fresh reboot or a tbc rerelease. Cata is the last expac you can argue is at all similar to classic, and I say that as someone who enjoyed pandaria
I agree. I love MoP so much but that expansion has just so many fundamental changes - pet battles, daily grind, talent row, “hard” specs, endless grind zones, transmog really starting to shine as you can solo old content, narrative story
WoD could be great, if they gave us the cut content, and shatterath was just a big open zone quest up where people zerged everything and left, let that actually become proper content. Plus with Tannan jungle opening up a bit sooner and more fleshed out, and you'd have a pretty decent expansions, change the garrison too, please ffs
I liked mist for PvP, I played as a frost mage and disc priest in rbg's and it was great. I also enjoyed the raids. For me we should stop at legion, after that the game wasn't fun until dragonflight. Classic + please blizz
They did with classic exactly what we didn't want. Reel us in to the idea there would be a more complete vanilla experience just to sell us the same expansions over again... We'll never get the finished vanilla experience fam, accept it.

We chose Classic to stay away from the progression of the XPacs, not follow it along another time... Sorry not sorry.

Yup. Vanil/TBC/WotLK are the only 'classic' expansions.
Before the cataclysm, it was very boring to attend raids.

For me, WOTLK significantly changed how classes played and TBC was the last expansion where it still felt like vanilla plus some added features. But WOTLK is undoubtedly a very popular expansion. I think the setting and wrapping up of Arthas's story is a big reason for that.

Warmane Onyxia is exactly this. We’re at Vanilla Nax now and will be on TBC in 1-2 months. After that WOTLK and a transfer to the Icecrown realm at the end.

@@bubbeldibu3687speak for yourself, my favorite time in wow was wrath through mop.
Vanilla and tbc just don't hold up for me these days. Although hardcore leveling is fun
And then legion had some high points too
I'm guessing you haven't played retail in the last 10 years then
And that's great. So I'm back in the game. The period of golden addons has begun.
Let hand out mobility like candy for 3 phases and then claim x ability doesn't fit for a time with a lack of mobility...makes sense...morons.
sod is dead
Nobody plays sod
Honestly for me SOD died after p1
I absolutely hated MoP remix, it looks weird and it lacks the charm - and you hear that from somebody who had blast with MoP.
I hated remix, it was just brain of knuckle dragging gameplay. Everything was so trivial
yeah no lol. Remix is nothing like actual MoP. It's like logging into retail and flying over to Northrend or going through the dark portal into Outland.
If you are excited for it you dont understand what classic is about or warcraft for that mattet
I would never touch that remix shit and would play MoP so your logic isn't the same for everyone
Every stupid fan also talks about their favorite addition. But Blizzard is not that stupid and they will continue to do the right thing.
Wonder if they are going to do retail classic lol

Calling it classic doesn't make it classic..
Waiting for classic+ or tbc+
I love tbc and it has basically just been discarded by blizzard at least vanilla see's some love with SoD
You can't even play tbc no more which is sad
So I'll play other games until blizzard makes something compelling and it won't be mop or wod lol..

Same! Came back to Classic after skipping TBC and Wrath, and loving it so much. Actually enjoying levelling again through Wrath and Cata areas.
I’m very curious what the effect of MoP remix will have on MoP classic.
Remix was surely a test to gauge interest.
are we ignoring that there's a wow token in retail classic? how are we even acknowledging anything other than era?

@@MrHowardMoon not sure what’s funny but ok.
@@Dalex19 It's asinine to think MoP was good.
@@MrHowardMoon oh ? Damn, I guess I just wasn’t having fun, it was just my imagination. Any arguments or are you one of those “pandas are bad, because I’m a moron” people
@@Dalex19 I have a few reasons as to why I think MoP was a terrible expansion:
I'm boring of cataclysm actually. Need fresh vanilla
Fresh original trio, I need to be back in TBC so bad I would happily sit in vanilla for a year to get there.
If Blizzard wants to make an "Expansion Saga", it would be better for them to just do an "Wide legacy", for people to play from Vanilla to Retail in 12 months
They will do them all.
As long as they cut down the rep and legendary quest chain grind it'll be a much better experience than back in the days. Also: lots of retail players will enjoy it.
And as mentioned: Classic+ should stick with the SOD 4 experiments. Those are looking good so far.
This is gonna be the finale for me. MoP is my favorite expansion, I can’t wait!
Same. I just want to play Vanilla or Classic+. How hard is it to just re-launch some vanilla servers?
You are very old and forgot to take your pills. Our journey has just begun with the cataclysm and we need at least a year for each add-on to be satisfied, so we will discuss this in about 10 years in the last addon of the saga classic.
I am really looking forward to MoP classic, it's my favorite expansion of all time.
Everything after wrath is new to me. I'll have to see how it plays
Cata was good. Wrath was very much overrated.
Firelands and Dragon Soul were great raids. Couldn’t tell you why people complained.
To me MoP is the first non-classic expansion, but I'm looking forward to it. I just wish they left some TBC, WotLK and Cata servers.
I don't care how good MoP was in terms of the game itself, the bottom line is that anthropomorphic pandas are unbelievably lame and were pretty much single-handedly responsible for me losing interest in WoW the first time around.
Now im gonna play them more
@@solofalcon Have fun. I’ll be enjoying my usual panda-less experience on Era.
I mean, I don't see anyone complaining about anthropomorphic rats, dogs and cows, but I guess if they were the focus of an entire expansion it might be different.
@@blackthorn5709 Do you want a cookie?
I would think them doing MoP remix would make it easier for them to do MoP classic so I would think that would make it where it could release sooner then expected
Shadowlands classic is gonna go crazy
I’m wondering if we will be a bc or wrath version of sod
After the change in Azeroth, all addons became interesting. If you like old Azeroth, then you are an old man and should spend your free time on your grandchildren. I look forward to every next addon without exception. And of course Blizzard will not stop at just some addon, because they understand that they don’t need to listen to old people.
Lmao. My grandchildren have their own lives with their parents. I have a lot of free time and will play WoW. Thanks anyway. Funny thing about people my age, we have a lot of money to spend, yet businesses aim at the younger gens...who don't have money. Go figure.
Im still hopeful that they will release a classic TBC server. A HC TBC server would be fucking tits.
I've not met many people from classic interested in remix as it was still retail with mop content.
Most Classic players didn’t play MOP remix or Plunderstorm
As somebody who's main goal has been playing MoP Classic ever since 2019, I had no interest in Remix. It's just Dragonflight with a twist.
Nah, you need to wait and jump ship at Shadowland classic.
You'd be missing out on the best expansion of wow ever. Full stop.

Blizzard will without a doubt continue releasing previous expacs as long as people reliably play it. It's free money, already written and produced. I think we'll be waiting for anything close to wow classic a lot longer than anyone is comfortable with
They'll just have to slow it down eventually. Probably from Legion.
I want to see a fresh Hardcore with Burning Crusade included...

There's nothing classic about Cataclysm, Mists of Pandaria, and Warlords of Draenor!
Personally, I think cata is timed correctly to end around the time SoD does - then they just roll right into a true Classic+ and that be the end of it all
Exactly what i thought at the start of this video, how about they finish SoD, cut this classic run to infinity, and just start a classic+ to synch all classic playerbase, and just keep a classic era realm on the side...Maybe they're not there yet and will need another seasonal run, with MoP running alongside to reach this point.
Wrath Classic. Find a way to integrate certain new classes and races without the actual "cataclysm" happening. Tauren Paladins were the bomb.
MoP was my favorite expansion, even tho the entire aesthetic was fucked. Raids were great. PvP was at its all-time high, and all my favorite class play styles throughout history, were in MoP
im excited for MoP classic and WoD classic and of course legion classic! i hope we get there. but i also hope they redo vanilla>wrath again as well as classic+
Well good. If they speed up Cata and MoP we will get to WoD faster! (This isn't even a joke btw, I unironically enjoy WoD and want to relive the expansion)
They just need to keep re releasing the whole cycle (vanila-wotlk)every few years
MoP was the absolute peak of WoW gameplay.
How can you argue Cata is similar to Classic? I'm going to assume you mean Vanilla by "classic".
WoD could be great if the entire expansion is, like, 5 months
I quit after wrath and won’t come back tell classic +
cata, mop, wod < Legion
I liked mist for PvP, I played as a frost mage and disc priest in rbg's and it was great. I also enjoyed the raids. For me we should stop at legion, after that the game wasn't fun until dragonflight.
