Today I tested to see if the supplies I found on Wish were real, legit art supplies that you could buy from the official brand, or amazon. The ultimate real vs. fake battle! What do you think the outcome will be? And would you buy copic markers from Wish? I never knew they sold these!

... I've had Copic Markers for about two years now and I didn't realize that the grey bar marked the brush side until you just pointed it out.........

That Faber Castell that you tested are student grade. The artist pencils are the Polychromos. You can't compare the student grade Faber Castell to the Prismacolors.
Annamoon FineArt I don’t use pencils so I really don’t know the difference between brands or names or their types of pencils. I’ve only briefly used Prismacolor so I was talking from my only experience in a passing comment, nothing serious. I was comparing the two different Faber Castell pencil sets not Prismacolor, so genuinely was just a passing comment because at that point I’d only tested the wish pencils and had nothing to “compare” it to other than that it wasn’t overly pigmented like, say, Prismacolor. Brands don’t need to be expensive to be good, crayola for example I know is super popular. I just haven’t used them myself.
I knew they weren’t professional grade so perhaps it was a silly comment...but I mentioned also, how the tri-color pencils were like the prismacolor pencils so that would be a huge compliment to their quality?

I love your videos and I always wonder about the mysterious products from wish. I have that red Faber-castell penciks too for an adult coloring book. But for my art stuff I think they are too hard and not as creamy like the Polychromos. Waiting for you next videos. ,😘

Chloe Rose Art I’m not sure if you knew this but sometimes the markers are over filled so they leak out sometimes. It has happened to me a few times especially when I get a new one.

Chloe Rose Art europe tends to have stricter standards of quality than the US, often people prefer products with a EU safety standard because they think it’s ‘better’. It’s often used as a marketing trick tho, so that might very well be why it’s on a box that’s meant for retail in the US!

Faber Castell has different kinds of colored pencils. There are more like student grade ones and others are more professional like the Polychromos. There's a HUGE difference in their products and they have tons of different types. The more you pay, the better the pencils are obviously :)

Red is student grade, blue studio grade and green is artist grade with Faber Castell. 🙂
The red ones are filed under "playing and learning" on their site so between that and price point I'd say they were mostly aimed at children with colouring books.
There is group from facebook in the philippines called Guhit Pinas many pro artist from the group that can make any artwork using the classic pencil color of fabercastlell to a very professional artwork
There is no cheap pencil it just really depends on how they use it i have seen portraits only by using that pencil sorry for my english
Faber Castell manufactures all types of pencils.. student, professional, child.. everything.. so it's hard to compare two different packs :3
Tiberius Sugarplum exactly. The wish box is the one we usually buy in supermarkets in Italy. Those are the cheapest pencils for kindergarten or elementary school

nope, they are still fake faber castell, im from argentina and those are not the ones that sales here, the pink is not that bright and theres no gold...
Maybe they are from Brazil, but normally we don't have a gold one (on the 12 pencils set) but a silver in the place, idk, but they really look like the ones I had when I was younger
Those are fake. I’ve used those faber-castell pencils and the colors are different and they are better, and I live in Central America
I can see that the Faber-Castell Classic pencils from Wish are fake. I have a set of the Classic colored pencils, and although these are not as pigmented as the Polychromos, they're more pigmented and more vibrant than the Wish pencils.
To solve the ink globbing issue with Copics: uncap both ends to equalize the pressure in the marker. The newer Copic markers have issues when stored improperly (any way but flat). Opening both ends for just a couple seconds will fix it, then you can recap the other end and continue coloring with it 👍
Marker tip!! If your marker leaks its because the pressure inside has gone funny. If you notice the brush getting too wet just open the other end of the marker to relieve the pressure or it will make blobs like that. One of my markers in particular always does this to me.

Of cause there aren't as impressive as Prismacolor. You bought the kid ones, not the Polychromos. These two sets are different from one another because one is for kids and the other is for adults. And then there's Polychromos for professionals or those who really want to use the best of what Faber-Castell can give.
I'm from Germany and you can buy the Faber-Castell Classic Colour in nearly every store that has art/school supplies here. I own a 24 set and they were about 7€ I think, could be less since I bought them ages ago.
Also the leaking thing your marker did can happen if there is too much pressure built up inside the marker, you can avoid that by opening both caps at the same time and then putting one back on before colouring.

Newsflash: There are tons of knockoffs and fakes on Amazon as well. It’s highly possible you are testing two knockoffs.
i use copic markers and it’s really easy to tell these are real
The ones from wish are most likely a knockoff considering ive spent almost a hour looking for copics on wish and not finding a single pack
@@lunix159 They're real. If you search Copic on Wish, they give you the knock offs, meaning the TouchFive brand. To find the real copics on wish, you usually have to search in the express section. They actually come up with official looking copics.
Order direct from the factory to be sure! There are a lot of knock-off on eBay of the oil-based pencils from Japan... You can order them from Japan, wait a while, then you can get them.
I remember a bunch of knockoffs of a popular colored pencil, that almost destroyed the company, as their quality eas bad, so most people steered clear. I took a chance on ordering some from Dick Blick, and seems I got the real ones on a super sale as a result... about 1/4 the regular price!

Those are the student grade Faber-Castell pencils, not the amazing, luscious professional set.
Jennifer Fortner I don’t know much about pencil brands or the types they sell, I kind of presumed they were both student grade or for kids, I was just surprised how good the tri-color ones were as opposed to the classic ones!
CHLOE DO NOT USE COPICS ON TEXTURED PAPER!!!!! It will ruin them. Get smooth paper please. Like the hammermill digital copy cardstock paper 100lbs . It handles the markers well & it doesn't mess them up Love you lol
Why though, A brush pen works at multiple different angles and pressures. the paper being textured is similar to changing the brush angle on the smooth paper mid stroke. Am i missing something?
@@G4M3GL4R3 it's because the texture of the paper slowly makes the brush top fuzzy and eventually deteriorate or break. Smooth paper does not do this 😊
Hammermill cardstock is hella expensive, Daler Rowney bristol board is super affordable and holds markers well if you want a cheaper option.
@@-ruubi-7270 Thank you I didn't know that. I've just checked and they sell replacement nibs. If someone does use textured paper a lot I think replacement tips are actually cheaper than more expensive paper. www.copicmarker.com/collections/nibs
@@G4M3GL4R3 mostly, yes! (Some marker paper or smooth paper is pretty cheap, though, so I've been doing my research to find the perfect combo 😋
Sometimes the copic markers do leak like that if there supper juicy. I've had they happen about twice with my darker colors.
Idk if u know this but whenever I get new copics and they're juicy (you can usually tell when it will probably leak) I always take off the other cap (so both caps are off while I use it for a little) and the pressure built up that makes the copic leak ink from the airplane pressure from shipping releases. And it actually works, 100% for me
I can get the classic Faber castell pencils here and I have them, those ones you got on wish are fake. The gold is actually more of a gold and has some kind of glitter, not another yellow. just pointing that out 🙃
The Faber-Castell set is identical with almost identical cover from what is available here in my country from reputable merchant. The thing is that particular set is usually school supply standard or quality.

My point? Keep an open mind to what your niche will be, draw what you are inspired to draw, and it will just hit you! Don't worry about us, your fan\friends. The important ones will still be here, and if you lose any while figuring out your niche, they will be replaced by those who love that niche as much as you do! And from them, you'll get long term fan/friends like me, who will stick with you through the next niche! ♡

Are you seuriously comparing Faber Castell Tri Colour pencils with Prismacolour? The Faber Castell Tri colour are a cheap kids version of the really good artists Faber Castell Polychromos. Faber Castell is not ONLY a artist brand but also just a producer of kids art suppplys, which these tri colour are.
True you can't compare kids pencils and artis grade pencil.
I dont really know what you mean? You said I was comparing the tri-color to Prismacolor but I was literally raving about the tri-color pencils saying they were like the Prismacolor I had used briefly because that’s all I have to compare them to. Which is a big compliment to the pencils.
I wasn’t saying “oh these are bad not like prismacolor”. I was saying the total opposite and mentioning how good they were and pleasantly surprised because they were aimed at kids. I don’t usually use pencils as I mentioned, I have never fully made piece with them so I’m clueless on brands and pencils types. I said the ones from Wish (the Classic Color) weren’t like my experience with Prismacolor as a passing comment

I bought a big pack of Touch5 markers cheaply on eBay and they work pretty well. Only a few have dried out in the course of a year. I used them for my kid’s art projects now but if you were illustrating on a budget, they are worth a try.

Not a lot of people realize this, but wish is a website where you can get things from many different "stores". Copic happens to be one of those stores. The store is generally listed underneath the product and it's best to verify it before you order.

While I too am a prismacolor fan, you should know that the faber castell pencils you bought are NOT their artist quality set, it's their kids set. They have 3 levels the green tins are the artist quality like polychromos, in blue packaging is their art grip line which is student grade and then the red packaging are their children's line so it is like comparing apples to oranges!!! I have the full set of both the faber castell and the prismacolors and the polychromos are very pigmented and a lot different than their kids quality pencils!!! Love the video, like all of your videos, the info you give is great and you are very fun to watch!!! Have a great day!!

@@ChloeRoseArt They might be genuine markers, but have been stolen at some point in the supply chain and resold, it's a fairly common, though obviously very illegal practice, especially in the makeup industry and *extra* especially on Wish.

the colored pencils from wish is fake lol, I have the 60 set of the same colored pencils but I bought mine from amazon and they are like the ones you bought from amazon too lol

the wish faber castell is what i have and I bought it from a high end mall here in our country that also displays every single faber castell brand they have (ballpens, eraser, sharpener, color pencil, etc.). and it's pretty expensive in our currency in US dollars it's like 4 or 5 dollars

I think the "H" and "K" on the barrel is just a label on the plastics mold from the factory. So they know which mold it came from in case there is a defect on one, its easy to find.

The exact same thing happened to me when I was using copics on the plane haha, the pressure should normalize if you open both caps at the same time!
I love copic markers so much I just got my first copic markers today they are so cool

You saw how the copic in the video leaked? All the copics I have leak. The wish knock offs I have never had any of them leak. My other issue is the copics in my opinion do not blend as well as the knock offs I have. The other issue I have with my copics, specifically the pens for drawing, they run out of ink really really fast and the ink is patchy. The other issue I have is that the copics bleed through basic cardstock really badly, the knock offs don't. Pigmentation wise the knocks off are just as good as the copics.
I buy a 24 or a 48 of Faber Castell pencils every year for school and I love them!

I don't know, the pencil stencilling looked a little dodgy to me, all the Faber Castell pencils in my house from my kids all have nice crisp stencilling of the words and name section.
Copic markers do that sometimes when they have been upside down for too long, or were recently filled, or were filled incorrectly. It happens to me every now and then. If you just stick the marker so that that site is up and leave it like that for a couple of minutes it's usually fine.

Hey there! From my knowledge the Faber-Castell pencils you reviewed here are school coloured pencils, they are not meant for artists but rather for children. Also I live in Europe and I can find both of those packs in stationery stores here. I think they are both made by FC but they are different products. Cool vid!

So. As a note. Copic markers when they have a lot of ink in them, “juicy markers” sometimes leak out like that. I have one myself that does. If you point the brush nib up and flick it or tap it a few times the ink will make its way back down the marker. You’ll need to keep an eye out on how much ink appears to be in the nib. Like how wet it looks and repeat the process when it happens.
IM SUPER TRIGGERED DAMIN COLOR THE EAR 🤪😵
In addition to the graphics of each nib printed on the marker, you can also tell immediately from any side of the market which nib is which because the end of the market with the brush nib has a dark grey line around the marker where the cap meets the body.
But are the markers good... That is the question

The leaking means that tip is over saturated with ink, simplest fix is to place the marker opposite tip up for about 15 mins and it'll be good. After this make sure you store the markers horizontally to avoid this happening again.
