Assuming a person to be "dodgy" is straight-up discrimination. If the police were stereo-typing you as a potential shoplifter, they don't know their statistics. In Boots, it's more likely to be a female who would shoplift. Those shop police are looking out for the wrong people and need to witness a theft, not judge or suspect a potential shoplifting type of person.
they stereo type people all the time and get it wrong. they just waste their own time. they have done stuff like that to people with eg autism just out shopping
Disgraceful behaviour, stinks of corruption by them, and the copper saying we work with our partners in regards to Boots is basically saying they are security for companies
The filth are an absolute disgrace. PCSOS are now working for boots. Are they. But PCSOS have no authority to patrol shops. As far as I know they are not allowed to do what they have done. Well done AB.
i beleive you will find that they can patrol any public place, a shop during opening hours is such a place. However bearing in mind that they are not warrant holding officers and in most cases do not possess the authority to detain anyone the money that is spent would be far better invested in regular officers with full police powers
So the PCSOs are helpful to others but refuse to be helpful to AB because he is the one ordering them around rather than kowtowing to their authoritah.

"The police do come and patrol the store" the manager claims, deferring responsibility to the PCSOs. I'd submit a written complaint to both the store and against the PCSO at her station.
Quite. Seems like they're taking the route of the police - the shoplifting is out of control, so start picking on people you think you can bully to pretend that you're doing something rather than nothing. They picked the wrong guy here!
Shoplifters rejoice, you only need to carry a shopping basket and you will never get stopped because as we all know a shoplifter would bever carry a shopping basket it's the ultimate disguise
I think it's more about the staff being able to see what you're intending to buy. I know AB isn't a shoplifter, but most shoplifters will look to conceal items (eg in their pockets or bags they're already carrying). They don't pick up baskets to put the items they're gonna steal in.
6:55 "You didn't deal with me, but I still have your personal information" Probably not the best idea to admit that officers are passing round people's personal data like they're a plate of biscuits.
So Police turning up with NO CRIME committed, apart from 'Hurt'y Feelings' felt by 2 PCSO's. 12 months ago I had a garden ornament stolen from the end of my drive. Phoned 101 who said "they don't look into a crime where the value is less than £50" and to claim off my house insurance (which has a £50 excess), Yeh right, as the ornament cost £49.99 !
Wow so they just impose made up rules on who they see fit like having to carry a basket?!..would they approach a rich looking man in a suit or is it just if you "look" poor?
@bencollins4168 - 🤔hmmm, that's as may be... however, it seems they may not be informed of that yet, just as in showing their name, number, and station! 🥳
Think about this for just a minute. This PCSO is only doing what l used to do as a village bobby in the 60's. We always walked into the shops and stores and chatted to staff, owners and managers asking if there was any concerns we should know about. It was called community policing. This was the way you got to know everyone on your patch as it were. It was amazing how much info you were able to gather this way. So please don't knock what she was doing. They are not a waste of space but it is unfortunate that their training is not more intensive regarding current legislation and their powers to deal with it.
@@MartintheTinman it is not racially profiling to do what we did. It would have been if the object was to have suspected someone of or were observing someone of committing a crime. Perhaps you should check out the definition of racial profiling before accusing someone of doing it. What we did was proper policing in the community. Learning where trouble might lay not of particular people causing it. If you get seen and known then people knew they could approach you for help no matter what the circumstances. I got to know my area and many of the people living and working there and if l needed help l knew who to go to. This was in the days when we carried a certain respect and dealt with things on our own unless it was absolutely vital that we reported or took people to court. You make many friends that way. For many years after l retired a lot of even the criminals used to stop me and my wife and pass the time of day and thank me for helping them. It would not happen with todays policing. I always treat people in dire circumstances with compassion though no matter what had happened or what they had done. There is no need to harras someone simply because of how they look. We too have fallen found of todays modern police officers after we stopped to try and help a young man who had fallen from his bike and broken both wrists. The inference was that l had knocked him off his bike and was trying to wriggle out of it. Very fortunately for me the youngster had three friends who laid out the events but l still challenged the police officers for their attitude and pointed out that l had once been a police officer. Section 42 of the Police Reform Act 2002 requires PCSOs to produce a designation card upon request when exercising any of their powers. How can she comply when she’s not even aware what a designation card is? This is such a common problem, as shown by all the videos online of PCSOs with no idea what a designation card is, and they often incorrectly claim their staff ID is a designation card (or even worse claim it’s a warrant card, even though they’re not constables so don’t have warrant cards). This demonstrates that police forces are failing to comply with Section 38 of the Police Reform Act 2002, which states that “A chief officer of police shall not designate a person under this section unless he is satisfied that that person- (a) is a suitable person to carry out the functions for the purposes of which he is designated; (b) is capable of effectively carrying out those functions; and (c) has received adequate training in the carrying out of those functions and in the exercise and performance of the powers and duties to be conferred on him by virtue of the designation.”
13:30 He is wrong. It is not policy that every interaction is recorded by police. Policy states that BWV must not be on when just having a conversation. It is used to collect evidence. Many constables do not turn on their BWV, even when they are supposed to. No one checks that they did record anything unless a SAR is made or the case goes to court where the BWV is needed as evidence. When that happens the police just say "sorry, the BWV was faulty or corrupted". The police know they can get away with not recording stuff that they know will be used against them.

BOOTS SHOULD EMPLOY PRIVATE SECURITY IF STAFF FEEL EVERY MALE MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC IS A THREAT.OUTRAGEOUS BEHAVOIUR
Boots are taking advantage of the public services by having police patrol their stores on public monies ! It’s a disgrace !!
Hands in pockets and crossed arms yells me all i need to know about this pair.
I don't think I've ever seen such a performance of ineptitude by both police and PCSOs. Useless seems complimentary. "Shopping baskets compliments of Banbury Police".
What the hell is this, now the PCSO are working for corporations for shoplifting, what an utter waist of public money, they should all be disbanded.
Where should policing be done then, only outside ?
@@jamestiltman8674 they are community officers not corporation officers, so the answer is in the community, clue is in the job description.

What would happen if you assume or accuses the police and pcsos of the actions and conduct in this day and age?
they stereo type people all the time and get it wrong. they just waste their own time. they have done stuff like that to people with eg autism just out shopping
You have facts stating it's likely to be a female that steals in Boots? Sounds like discrimination to me...
For real, I have friends who own pharmacies and the amount of stealing is unbelievable, 90% are women and young girls pinching cosmetics.

However bearing in mind that they are not warrant holding officers and in most cases do not possess the authority to detain anyone the money that is spent would be far better invested in regular officers with full police powers
they should recruit more people from psychatric wards
So the PCSOs are helpful to others but refuse to be helpful to AB because he is the one ordering them around rather than kowtowing to their authoritah.
PCSO has as much power as a librarian... say that next time to them, they will go mad

The staff are a little bit nervous so you have to pay the price
Quite. Seems like they're taking the route of the police - the shoplifting is out of control, so start picking on people you think you can bully to pretend that you're doing something rather than nothing. They picked the wrong guy here!
It was at that moment that Helen Keane knew she'd fucked up. 1:12
Haha then she pushed the eject button
Shoplifters rejoice, you only need to carry a shopping basket and you will never get stopped because as we all know a shoplifter would bever carry a shopping basket it's the ultimate disguise
I think it's more about the staff being able to see what you're intending to buy. I know AB isn't a shoplifter, but most shoplifters will look to conceal items (eg in their pockets or bags they're already carrying). They don't pick up baskets to put the items they're gonna steal in.

So you racially profiled too 👍👍
@@MartintheTinman it is not racially profiling to do what we did. Racial profiling NO. HELPING THE COMMUNITY YES.

@@MartintheTinman l am afraid l have to agree with you regarding todays police officers many of whom do not have any people skills whatsoever. Many have never held a job in the public domain and seem to change as soon as the uniform goes on. I served a recognised apprenticeship in the building industry before joining and that was good grounding for later life. I always treat people in dire circumstances with compassion though no matter what had happened or what they had done. There is no need to harras someone simply because of how they look. That is totally wrong. You never know a person's background until you talk to them. Their reply. When your a has been things change. Not very people friendly atall. They were also the scuffles dressed officers l had ever seen.

3 Clowns, the female cop seemed alright.
This demonstrates that police forces are failing to comply with Section 38 of the Police Reform Act 2002, which states that “A chief officer of police shall not designate a person under this section unless he is satisfied that that person-
(a)
is a suitable person to carry out the functions for the purposes of which he is designated;
(b)
is capable of effectively carrying out those functions; and
(c)
has received adequate training in the carrying out of those functions and in the exercise and performance of the powers and duties to be conferred on him by virtue of the designation.”
Was there meant to be a 2nd West Oxfordshire District Council video?
