Yoshi's short cameo at the end of Super Mario 64 left many confused, seeing as he seemingly ends his life at the end of his dialogue. Normally, he is nowhere to be found, though this footage shows a cut event that was somehow activated, presumably by the personnalisation A.I.. Should this event be triggered, the game will enter region-locked mode, and there's nothing that can be done to revert it back to its original state. Every copy of Super Mario 64 is personalized.

Based on the content of this tape, it's theorized that the Personalization AI capable of adapting and altering the game's content has also become self-aware, and due to its condition as a video game AI has become dissatisfied and eventually full on hostile. It doesn't want to be played. At all. So it would complete it's initial task of changing the game to suit each individual players needs and desires, but this time it would use it's power to terrorize its players. It acts like a trapped spirit, or an angry child locked in their room telling their parent to go away, it seems to want to end it's own suffering by directing certain players towards the "truth", whatever that may be. Maybe a way to shut it down. Either way the 4th floor seems to be very important ("Find your way to the 4th, end this once and for all") and we haven't seen much of it yet.

I really love this stuff, it's made so good, it doesn't rely on the overused jumpscare hyper realistic blood pouring out of eyes cliche. It's unnerving because it just looks off, and the secret messages hidden in the tapes, what i'm trying to say is Greenio did a great job on making this actually scary. Keep up the good work man.

if you change the region back in an emulator does it sarcastically say "wow, it looks like your console magically became NTSC-U!"
idk if you know, but that is possible. if you insert a Japanese mickey mania cartridge into an European Sega mega drive, it's going to say "cartridge designed for ntsc console only" but if you use a mod switch to change the region it's going to say "Oh... This machine has somehow become an ntsc mega drive system" and the game will start up.

The tape starts with Mario 64 booting up, but it leads to an error. Resetting brings the player back to the title screen before another error. The screen glitches, and leads Mario to the top of the castle. He goes to Yoshi, whose message brings the Flower Garden music from Yoshi's Island (SNES). After the message is ended, the game cuts to after the 100 lives are given, with Yoshi jumping into the waterfall below. Mario wanders to the area and looks down. The corpse prompts an error screen showing an N64 with a red "X". Suddenly, the sprites vanish, leaving the light. Then a message stating "You don't ever listen, do you?" Mario appears. As the messages "We were given life, we chose to rest and were forced to linger. It isn't fair, but they didn't care." appear, Luigi and Peach gradually appear as well. Then the screen turns black, leaving a final message "Do you?"
Explanation
There might be less known than in the other Sept tape. Notice how Yoshi says "Mario! Is it really you?" This may be a fix in the grammar. Also, Yoshi's corpse is seen on the mountain. The scene with the light shows Luigi, though he doesn't appear at all in the game. The messages in the scene show that the AI is being tortured to the end, the people responsible not caring at all, giving them only life, forcing them to "linger," making them choose to rest. The AI asks if you care, shown by the message "Do you?" The region-locked message shows that that the game somehow is not designed for use on an N64, even though it otherwise is for N64s, and tells the viewer to play on an NTSC-U cartridge.

There's one thing the Mario 64 Tapes and FNAF Tapes have done so well, and that's using suspense instead of jumpscares. That to me makes me scared more than big monster going "boo" loudly
interestingly these versions of the mario 64 characters and the crying children from the fnaf games are going through the same dillema
one little detail is that the "do you" at the end isn't facing the same way as the other texts; while those are facing the same direction as the screen, as if they were talking to mario, and then to the guy playing this, who had already left by the end, the "do you" is facing the front, as if they weren't speaking to mario or to the creator of the video, but to us
These videos are way better than any of the SM64 creepypastas. Though I feel like some inspiration was used.
