  • At last, two pioneering electronic works from the 70's together, at the same time. :-)
This video is actually blocked in quite a few countries. If you can watch it, you are lucky! I cannot even watch it here in Japan on my own channel. LOL
If you feel like watching them separately with their unmodified times,

I remember hearing Warm Leatherette in a music documentary about synth-pop and I was like "the hell is that", as he didnt even sing anything and the instrumentation was very odd. I've listened to a lot of avant-garde stuff so I actually liked it for its weird sound as it was unlike anything I'd heard before. I'm sure if I showed that song to any of my friends they'd call me mad.

IIRC it was a film director or the likes who saw the wave of punk and decided he should be making music instead, apparently being recorded for the cheap price of a dollar fifty or something along those lines. I think the lyrics were based off a book where people crash and change their genders or something like that.

@@s0urceda49 Yeah the song was inspired by J.G. Ballard's book, "Crash" about fetishism over car crashes. It was made into a movie by one of my favourite directors, David Cronenberg. I have been meaning to read the book for a long time but never got around to it.

There have been many covers of this song, but for this video I decided to use the original. My favourite cover is by Trent Reznor (NIN) and Peter Murphy (Bauhaus): ua-cam.com/video/zo7ONZlN5Zg/v-deo.html I was thinking about doing a video just using this cover and using clips from the movie "Crash" (See other comment), but I don't think I will have time for it. As for "I Feel Love", I remember when that first came out. So different from all the other pop songs up until that time
