My interpretation of the The Normal's original classic Warm Leatherette. (I do not own the rights to this music. All rights, copyright etc Mute Records)
I totally love what you've done here. A great visual to support the music. This would be amazing playing on a big screen, in a club while the song played.
My introduction to minimalist industrial music along with Cabaret Voltaire & DAF in one memorable night. Within a week cut off my long hair and got a pair of Docs.
This sound made a comeback at the end of the 90's as electroclash, so it's overdue its next run, so don't give up hope that we will be delivered from the deluge of mediocre hipster garbage that has been the last two decades.

Thumbs-up if Diane Morgan's _Mandy_ brought you here... :D All the while I was watching that 10-minute one-off comedy, I had convinced myself this was a late-1970's Human League demo from before they hit the big time - least I got the genre right...
@@ngochoangao5740 Well, maybe they re-recorded track for the movie, or enhanced original. Just add more bass artificially, there are tons of software for it. Nice to know, that someone else was looking for this track after watching the movie.
@@ngochoangao5740 Yeah, they often enhance things for movies. The theme tune from 'Chapo' is the same way: they removed some of the softer guitars, boosted the bass guitar, added compression, and even substituted the snare drum to give the track a whole different feel. Also, in Antebellum, they're sitting in a car, so the sound designer always has to consider the setting first, and then work the melody into it.
The Antebellum movie brought me to this video. But this video with the visuals, this makes it that much more. I'm sorry, I order an Uber, or Lift and they pull up playing this, I'm looking through out the car, trunk, everything.
Antebellum. And what a fantastic video! Why the f*** have I not heard this before? It’s everything modern techno should be! I could dance to this all night!
@@aikighost I'm with you there. Suicide were great, obviously a huge influence on many people. That first album is groundbreaking and the lo-fi sound was really appealing. It still is. I well remember getting my first decent 'Ghettoblaster' and playing 'Frankie Teardrop' loudly in inappropriate places. Throbbing Gristle were particular favourites of mine.
I overheard one of my neighbours refer to me as 'the weird girl on the top floor' my retaliation was to play this on repeat, loudly for 2 hours straight.
How Ironic. A few weeks later when the news of John Denver's fatal plane crash broke, I was at a local diner in Vermont and on the jukebox I played "Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay" by Otis Redding, "In The Mood" by Glen Miller, "Crazy" by Patsy Cline, "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" by Jim Croce, and "Leaving On A Jet Plane" by Peter, Paul, And Mary". Out there somewhere is a Kraftwerk fan bemoaning that Kraftwerk didn't have such a fitting video to their music. This one fit the song like a glove. And brave use of the color Yellow too.
Incredible video that matches the stark nature of the song. Kraftwerk could only dream of such a perfectly matched video to a dystopian technopunk track.
Great track, fantastic job on the video. Works really well. Hope Daniel M has seen it and likes. I also reckon Monsieur Ballard would have approved. :-)

+mjcoombe Great job with this video. I thought, at first, was the official one by The Normal. See what you may do with The Normal's "T.V.O.D." and perhaps with "Semolina," "Krafty Cheese," or something else by The Residents (who make Devo seem like The Carpenters by comparison). I think perhaps the film "Koyaanisqatsi" would already reflect the style (and has a soundtrack by Phillip Glass anyway), but you could try to see what you may do with Kraftwerk's "Trans-Europe Express"or perhaps one of the tracks from K'werk's "Radio Activity." Even though I am more of a garage (New York Dolls-Ramones-Rolling Stones) rock & roll and Phil Spector pop music fan, every now and then I get this urge to hear some more artful noise. The now (sadly) late Mr. David Bowie, of course, was often a perfect combine of the two.
+gymnastix Thank you very much. TVOD appears to have it's own video made back in the day, I'm currently aiming at any lost classics that don't have anything representing them visually. Looking at Fad Gadget or Suicide next possibly. Really appreciate your suggestions.
I'm fascinated by this dude. It sounds so like the original, the delivery tone and inflection in the vocal are exactly the same. Did you manage to get hold of an a cappella vocal and rebuild the track around it? Or is it a remaster? Or have you somehow re-recorded the vocals completely faithfully to the original? However you did it it sounds great and the video is fucking rad
