Interesting to see that checklists are still paper, not digital (e.g. iPad). I guess paper is the best failsafe option. And at first I was mentally chastising them for not reading out the checklist steps until (silly groundling that I am) I realised that of course they were reading out / checking off, but by mikes into headphones.
The 9/11 terrorists had to go to flight training in the US to learn their skills. Now you can learn with a few UA-cam videos and flight simulator software.
Is it normal to use Flaps 15 for takeoff? LPAZ has plenty of runway - so no need for additional lift I guess. What's the reason for this flap setting? Better performance? When I was flying with SATA I also had the feeling they were using Flaps 15 for takeoff. We had already 100+ feet when passing the tower building at LPAZ when I was onboard...
In your opinion could a novice like the hijacker at Sea-Tac take off and fly this plane the way he did doing barrel rolls etc? Something just does not add up.
Actually, there is a sophisticated AddOn for Microsoft Flight Simulator from Majestic Software. It is considered one of the best simulated planes. ua-cam.com/video/sYNXmMjPnPo/v-deo.html I guess with enough hours on that plane, you're at least able to cruise around in that aircraft without stalling or whatsoever. However, the fact that he even succeeded in doing a barrel roll is strange. At least he did some mistakes - in the ATC conversation you can always hear that warning sound xD
Don Gato I was questioning the startup...but it turns out the plane has the FADEC system, engine, prop and mixture automated control, including startup.
so we are to believe this guy, who never actually had flown a plane before, and he said he just played a few video games, did ALL of this, and then he managed to DO A BARREL ROLL in this type of plane? who is dumb enough to believe that? its obvious he purposely crashed the plane (or it was really remote controlled and the audio was just pre-recorded) on that island and the jets that came after him probably blew up something on the island, and his crash was a cover for whatever got blown up on the island. its looking like it was a decommissioned submarine at that island, which is named Richard B Russel, which is strange considering /ourskykings/ name was Richard "Beebo" Russel, or Richard B. Russel. if you want to know more you need to follow Q and the posts from Qanon.
Maybe you are not aware, a ramp worker stole a plane out here in Seattle. He crashed only killing himself, it could have been far different, there was a pearl jam concert at the Mariners stadium with a full house, thousands could have been killed...
Field of view out of the Q400 cockpit is insane!
That sure is a short takeoff roll, must feel awesome.
R.I.P #SkyKing You will be missed!
don't apologize, it's a quite fair result for a iphone video
Thanks for sharing
Ok boys, now let's see some barrel rolls!
na
RIP Skyking
Came here to see what the Horizon Air employee had to do to startup and steal a Horizon Air Q400 from SeaTac (KSEA).
We live in the information age ..... You can pretty much learn to do anything on the internet.
Agree looks like a bitch
From looking at other videos a Cold Start would have taken him a Hour! :o
@Miguel any input on this?
oversoul that guy went out like a boss.
1:51 the most fun thing to do in a Dash 8
IKR
what does the leaver do?
Matteo Wiener It sets the propeller RPM to Maximum which sounds amazing.
Nick Aviation HD Wouldnt that mean TOGA?
No TOGA has to do with actually setting takeoff power.
Amazing cute little birdy :3 ❤
That was pretty good. Thanks. I enjoyed that.
Rich probably saw this video at some point.
MORE OF THIS!
I love how you guys fly the aircraft! Please make more videos I'm subscribing.

It's like they taking off an aircraft carrier!
GOSTO MUITO MUITO DISTO
nah gw suka nih sama pesawat, simple tapi powefull
So that, kids, is how you steal a plane from SeaTac and fly it like you stole it.
The new Q400 checklist is entitled: ""FADEC for Dummies"".
nice
Skyking did it sneaky like
DOORS AND ELECTRICAL should be on the MFD’s :p
I wonder if Richard Russell watched this? RIP Skyking
Set engines full

Crossdrop I Fly this aircraft for an US carrier and Flaps 15 is standard unless weather conditions require us to use a lower setting.

Rage Theatre2020 From what I have heard, that is one of the things the NTSB is investigating. Whether he had previous flight training.
im gonna fly the same q400 in the same isle and i see this💀(i live in santa maria)
Propellers full para encender motores o.O?
Sempre
What is the black and yellow stick on the left of the pilone ?

Shamgar, the ICON Dude, all you got to do is use the yoke to fly the aircraft like any other plane of this type. It's not that difficult
You saying you follow QAnon sealed your chances of people wanting to debate your opinions that are wrong.
Hi Miguel Nunes, we can talk by email about Q400 tips? Im a new operator.
Like if Rich Russell brought you here (The Seattle plane incident)
Daddy rich
All of these videos need to be removed from you tube so more people can't steal more planes. This is scary
