The GE90 holds the Guiness Book of World Records for thrust at 127,900 pounds of thrust. That is about 2.5 times a737 engine's thrust. The diameter of the GE 90 is also equal to the diameter of a 737's cabin. Kevin-Veteran USAF
I visited London Luton Airport last week while seeing my girlfriend and somehow found myself standing a mile from the end of the runway, a B772 had just taken off and I was almost convinced there was a nearby explosion. The rumble and growl was so relentless when it passed me. Best noise ever. I am addicted now.
PilotSanderHD Trent 800 vs GE-90 this is a war that will never end, as you can clearly see 90% of these 777's are GE-90 powered to the MAX !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great video, it's hard to fully capture the size of those engine intakes from a terminal gate or distance, seeing the entire profile is incredible, they're like the size of a city bus
GE engines = round knob lookin engine center cone RR = pointy and long engine center cone. can be used to differentiate airplanes that have either RB-211s or PW4000s.
We stayed at a hotel near LAX to plane spot one time and every time a jumbo jet took off or landed, everything started rattling and rumbling. My mom asked if we were having an earthquake or thunderstorm or something and I assured her that it was just a bunch of jets!
Sometimes I'm really taken aback, really thinking how incredible these machines are. This video really did it for me! The first takeoff I'm thinking "how in the fuck does that huge piece of metal get off the ground?" It's just so incredible.
Flew in Boeing 777's with all 3 engines: GE90, Rolls Royce Trent 800, and the Pratt & Whitney 4090 series. I have to say that the PW engines make a very loud "mooing" noise while taxiing as well as a deeper one whenever they spool up for takeoff. The RR Trent 800 I would say kind of gives a smooth flight. But I would definitely take a GE90 out of any of these since they tend to be one of the quietest, but most powerful along with the Trent XWB engines, and offer a smooth and reliable flight. As for the 777 variants, I'm am more of a fan of the Next Generation aircraft - the 777-200LR and 777-300ER since their in flight service is great and they provide longer distance and more reliability.
The Trent 800 is so much smaller than the GE and PW units yet provides the necessary punch. But then again everything is bigger in the US. Just look how big Donald is and how small the rocket man is.
I also heard that one of the KLM's sounded stronger than the other ones, they usually have GE but that huge crushing sound made me a little bit curious....
Well the weather can be missleading sometimes, yes that is true but anyway, 777's are my preffered aircraft until the 777-x arrive. Also A350 are great but for me 777 tops them all !!!!!
Easy way to tell if GE90 - it is largest diameter turbofan engine ever produced. Noticeably larger than RR. Rr is still using titanium fan blades. Limits engine size (can't make fan any longer physically or will not withstand force). GE is using composite fan blades. The GE is the most powerful engine option for the 777 (and holds Guinness world record thrust). GE engine produces about 10k more lbs thrust on commercial 777 but not all carriers need that. It's more expensive engine. So depends on needs.
@@jazzypenguin4401 because its an older version. the typical t7 sound is always the -300ER with the ge90-115b i think All other sound a bit different especially trent 800 and of course the old pw4000
Balázs Szalay The GE90 have a larger engine, it's a little bit quieter, bass sound and it's the only option for B777-200/LR, B777-300/ER and B777F. The RR Trent is a little bit smaller and sound like a buzzsaw (hard to hear in this video, but you can search for it), more treble. It can be found in the B777-200 (and also in /ER) and in the B777-300. Only in 2:39 (Singapore) and in 8:27 (Malaysia) we can see RR. All the others are GE.

+PilotSanderHD yes I will come to this airport :D maybe when I'm a bit older, but this is amazing! perfect place to look at some airplanes and dream :D and how about the securities?
athos Paf The two last numbers stands for the "client code" to the planes made by boeing. In this case, it is -224 because it was ordered by continental airlines, before its merge with united airlines. Well, that's all I know.

Thank you for that information Kevin 👍
Sounds better than any of the diesel locomotives GE makes.
This tops out the engines used on the B-52 and they don't even come close at all.
SO 👣
Unfortunately I don't think airlines take advantage on that because they usually don't use toga to takeoff
I want to be on one right now and I LOVE the GE-90 engine & the Trent 800 both Awesome ENGINES!!!!!
Incredible ominous industrial sound coming from those huge engines

Is it ironic that I'm listening to jet engines with noise cancelling headphones?
Yah. Love my Sennheiser Game Zero headset with passive noise cancelling chamber technology. No white noise to make it sound excessively warm.
Great video! The sound of a triple seven taking-off is just awesome!
Well, we will see :D
GE-90 = WE RUN THIS TOWN !!!!!!!!!!

+FlyGuy's Thank you :D
This great video is music to an aviation fanatics ears.
I had my first 777 flight a few weeks ago and I spent most of the flight staring out of the window at those engines. They are incredible.
I know right! :D
Boeing & GE The very best

I agree 100% with you!
+PilotSanderHD nothing like the feeling of being pushed into your seat when a 777 takes off!

My serving favorite engine sound behind the RB-211
So good! Awesome aircraft the 777. Anticipating the 777X series a few years hence.
GE-90 MONSTER.

I often choose flights serviced by B777s if possible. Can't get enough of these powerful engines!
Wow So powerful, it makes me wanna fly..its beautiful, its powerful...

the klm plane shoot was the money shot!!!! good job!!!
10000 like , yes the sound of the engine is woooooooow
One of these can carry this huge aircraft at cruising speeds and altitude, imagine the power of this duo...

This will be my favorite picnic spot or lazy afternoon spot after I retire...

i love this air craft boeing out did there self when they built it very nice
GE 90 power 100%
Awesome video, great planes!!
watching 777 is a porn for me
Trent 800!!! But I love all of em
Yes RR is roary graauurrr!! RRRRROLLSRRROYCE.... but 777 is nothing without his GE90s ❤
yep Love the rolls royce 777
That engine sound!
The Rolls Royce Trent 800 every time for me.
similar to seeing that old dark United airlines livery, it's a little scary seeing that Malaysia livery too
Wat een prachtige video man!! Super mooie geluiden van de vette kisten!! HUGE LIKE!
Thanks man :D
Never EVER take this video down ⬇
Boeing 777-300er is my most favourite aircraft.. pls make more boeing 777-300er new 4k close up videos 📹 ....

Awesome video! You're lucky to have so much 777 action at AMS :-D
Yeah indeed ^^
Amazing....
amazing sound
My only one favourite model,,,777😍
Awesome!!!!!!!
The MH 777 is not a Cargo as you stated...it was passengers aircraft. As you can see clearly it doesn't have a cargo configuration.
The Trent 800 is so much smaller than the GE and PW units yet provides the necessary punch. But then again everything is bigger in the US. Just look how big Donald is and how small the rocket man is.
The t7 versions using trent 800 are lighter and have less range
@ 9:32 That looks to be a MASSIVE plane...
Haha all KLM pilots have a tendency of a tad bit early rotation!! Great video and sound btw...
Average takeoff roll for these 8 777's from engine power up till main gear leave the pavement is approx. 38.5 seconds. Not bad for a heavy.
@@fusion1799 a340-300 1 minute😂
Are you sure all these 777s were with GE engines ? I heard like 3 different pitches in the roar that are not common in GE 90 series
The Malaysian, Delta and Singapore are RR. Well noticed :D
I also heard that one of the KLM's sounded stronger than the other ones, they usually have GE but that huge crushing sound made me a little bit curious....
Mayby the wheather conditions?

Love this !!!!
Do the RR Trent engines have a more pronounced fan growl than the GE90?
They have a distinctive growl at take off thrust

Michael Robert Do you know what engine is the United 777? they sound like pw4000 to me
Michael Robert Titanium is not supose to be better than composite materials?

GE90 = best man made sound. EVER!
GE= generally explodes
I prefer the Trent 800 sound, but *NOTHING* beats the old TF39
IF got PW powered 777, it will be a complete, nice comparison.
I took that same united 777 at the beggining of the vid but it assent at that airport it was at los Angeles international airport
Nice planes and sound!

Doctor : You only have 20mins to live.

Wrong. SQ 9v-svc is actually equipped with RR engines
Excellent
Rest of the planes seemed to be 777-300ERs. But 8:25 it looks like a 777-200 with the words Malaysia on it.
+watertakken Indeed, check the describtion for the plane types :)
+watertakken A pity it will never be seen again.

8:31 What that the Malaysian 777 that got shot down with a missile??
I’m curious since this video was taken a month before the incident
Not quite. This 777 is 9M-MRL. MH370 was 9M-MRO, which you can see here: ua-cam.com/video/ocKaeqZTmEM/v-deo.html
No, that one was 9M-MRD.
Sounds like the goddamn Millennium Falcon....
👍
Muito bom
I love the rolls royce 777 better than the ge90
