Hey Guys, As you have probably noticed already i have updated the channel name and logo. The channel is no longer Really Random Channel it is now RRC Restoration. Just incase you were wondering why the water marks in the video still say Really Random Channel. Enjoy.
Im so pleased to see you doing a C90. I have owned two myself. The first one I got knocked off and nearly lost my foot. The frame was bent so badly it had to be written off. The second one was stolen. We found 3 kids riding it around on the field near my home. They had stripped it to the bare bones. We called the Police but by the time they got there, the little shits had gone. I was gutted.
Beautiful work! I plan on restoring my 1967 Kawasaki D1 relatively soon and will document all of it as well. Hopefully it turns out as nice as yours :)
Something interesting every video. This week I was amazed by the zinc plating of the bolts and brackets. Buying too many new parts would be a repair. Re-plating original bolts, that's a restoration! Thanks.
I vote for the Sketchy Bench Grinder restoration :)Hats off to you sir, top quality work on such a forgotten bike, that one will live on for a long time now, unlike most of them that ended up being stripped and mud scrambled.
I don't comment often on you tube video's but after watching a few of your video's I must say you do a excellent job. I especially appreciate no goofy music. Your video work is great, even your hand held is very well done as well as your editing. Keep up the good work!
My father has old one like this, I just don't have time or effort to do something like this !! I just feel awesome just the effort you put in to make it happen, keep up the good work!!!! 👍👍👍
It’s coming along brilliantly! Can’t wait to see the finished result. Makes me feel a bit guilty seeing this one lovingly restored when as a kid we used to buy clapped out ones from and old bloke who sold them from £5 to £15 depending on the state. We would then get them running only to destroy them in some manner like jumping them off a big ramp, doing burnouts until it went bang or seeing just how many of us could fit on one and ride it. This was about 1987 I would like to say I am older and wiser now but sadly only the first bit is true. 😂
It is a nightmare of a setup but well worth the hassle to show it to you guys as i like to show you all the gruesome details not just the money shots ;) I like to think its what makes my restorations stand out a bit from the others. Thanks for your comment :)
im enjoying this so much because I owned one of these bikes and I loved it. I look forward to each part being uploaded and I hope the engine gets stripped and rebuilt with new gaskets etc as the bikes been so well restored it would be a shame to put the old dirty engine back in as is. well done its looking so good
When I was a kid, I bought a beautiful garage kept C90 from my next door neighbor for $25. Had to flush out the tank and carb. Then proceeded to ride it into the ground, the river, the road, curbs, ditches, you name it. I put that bike through holy hell, and it just never seemed to quit running. I think I sold it for $50. I'd give $500 to get it back now, and do exactly what you're doing to it...
Your next restoration project should be your grinder hahahaha Nice video as always. Very entertaining, nice results and nice editing. I've found myself skiping content in other restoration channels, but in yours, not at all. Good job!
very good job man! i really like the variety of techniques you are using, never saw someone before removing paint with fire. you're doing a proper job. the only advice i could give you is to use more grease. you should grease all the threads in general, just to protect them for rust in the future. cheers, btw i sent you a message on instagram ;-)
Hey, Thanks for the comment im glad you like it :). The engine will feature in the next installment ;) Im not going for a full rebuild as the engine is sweet as a nut just a tear down clean up and replace gaskets etc.
This is a great restoration project. It looks amazing. What is in the blue water and gold water that you dip the hardware in? That's like magic. I have a 1964 Yamaha YJ2 that I'm restoring, but it doesn't look any where near as nice at your work. Can't wait to see part 5.
Hi, I'm from Argentina, congratulations for the work is perfect. Could you give a short explanation of how electrolytic bathing is done or do an explanatory video? thank you
Amazing work I've seen all your restorations!❤️ One question, did you used the black plastic parts for the front suspension and if not why?? (I am asking because i need to know if they are needed on genuine suspension or not)
Looks amazing! Already better than my own moped! Can you make a video on how you do the electroplating? Its the thing I need to do to some bits and pieces of my own moped
Hey, Thanks for the comment and im glad you like the videos :) The engine will feature in the next installment ;) Im not going for a full rebuild as the engine is sweet as a nut just a tear down clean up and replace gaskets etc.
@@RRCRestoration If the engine is so good, why change the gaskets? Sorry, I don't understand, does it have leaks? I can understand you wanting a clean, oil tight engine but if it's okay why not leave it as is?
@@devolvedspud6101 The gaskets are being changed as the engine will be coming apart for inspection, cleaning, painting, blasting and setting up of the tappets and ensuring the ignition timing is spot on. Its not classed as a rebuild because the transmission wont be split as i know its in good shape and if the piston and barrel checks out ok they will be reused as well. I hope this answers your questions.

I have never before seen such a shiny clunker! I hope it went to a good home, once it was finished. Good work RRC Restoration.
Best honda cup restoration in UA-cam. That paint quality is the best.

Now that would be awesome. Thanks for the comment :)

My first bike was a 1969 Honda C50. I am enjoying these videos very much!
Im glad you are enjoying them :).
Master restoration work in action. Another Honda Frankenstein motorbike reborn. Salute from 🇨🇦 Canada

The build quality in this restoration suggest Honda should be paying him.
Haha now that would be lovely :)
True buddy !
as i still maintain...second to none...excellent work. I am restoring a Honda PC 50 at present but not to your level. Best wishes from Mauritius
Work fascinates me, I could sit and watch all day!!:}
Love the plant coming output of the headlamp nacelle!.
Enjoying the various techniques of de-rust, then rust protection.
Glad your enjoying it :)
Ohhhh wow! One man's factory :D . Almost there . It's being done so clean that it should be parked in the living room .
Im going to be devastated if it ever gets dirty haha. Thanks for the comment.

Great restoration, I'm looking forward to the engine rebuild. 👍👍👍
Thank you :)
Its good to see how the front suspension goes together. I haven't seen it in other vdeos, and the local shops avoid opening it up like the plague

Currently working on it just now ;) Thanks for the comment :)
The zinc plating was a great touch. Looking forward to you someday coming up with a home chrome plating rig.

Can we please get a restoration video for the ‘sketchy bench grinder’? It looks like a hardworking bit of kit that could do with a reward.
Maybe one day soon ;)

I think it's blue and gold passivate. It stops the zinc from dulling.
Thanks for the comments guys and you are correct Lacy it is blue and gold passivate :)

Very exciting, very healing!!
Have you ever considered one of those DIY powder coating kit with a household oven for the smaller parts?
Ive looked into it but never done anything about it. i possibly will get a kit for future projects.
