  • Hey Guys
    I thought I would take you on another House Tour, Since we've been living here a whole year now, I thought it would be fun to compare and see how much i've decluttered and if i've actually made any progress since we moved.

    I really felt you when you said"i don't want anyone to buy us anything" 😢 it's so hard when you want a clear space for your mental health as well as physical health but you have kids too. You're doing amazing, your house looks amazing but I also see you have a vision for your ideal and i really hope you get there. And you will 🎉😊

    I’m so glad I’ve come across your channel. I too have a chronic illness (fibromyalgia and hyper mobility) I need desperately to declutter our home, so I’ll be watching for tips!

      I love this, I want to do the same but for some reason cannot bring myself to 😩 it’s frustrating, I definitely need to be ruthless this year.

    I'm so glad you also shared the meltdown part of this process. I often feel the same way. It is incredibly frustrating at times. It's nice to know I'm not alone in that emotional experience of being overwhelmed & surrounded by so much physical "stuff" everywhere. It gives me decision fatigue having to think of the best thing to do with each & every item. Your home is beautiful, by the way. Little by little, even if its only 1% each day, I believe we will achieve our goals. 🙂

      Aww thank you so much, I definitely felt the need to share it to make everyone feel less alone, I actually forgot that the camera was recording 🙈🤣 I’m glad it did though in a sense. It makes me feel better to know I’m not alone also.
      Thank you so much 🥰 I think it’s hard for us to see when we’re living in it ourselves if that makes sense.
      I believe in us too, we have totally got this!! ❤️

    You’re doing great , compared to how it was. I remember your flat and how cluttered it was. I was going to sell lots of my stuff, but ended up giving it to charity….. I felt so good once it was out of the house - the way I saw it was if I’d have paid someone to help me I’d have spent that money anyway or had to pay for counselling due to the stress of it all! My partner helped and we worked miraculously well getting rid of stuff. 3 car loads to tip and 3 to charity shop!
    You’re doing great and I can promise it will feel so good when you’re done and you can then just keep going over it to find more. It’s so much easier to clean up now. Best of luck.

      Aww thank you so much lovely, I actually watched an old video in the flat a few days ago (dexter wanted to watch it) and I thought to myself wow, I have got rid of sooooo much. You don’t realise until you look back.
      I’m definitely getting to a point where the majority will have to be donated and taken to the dump.
      I’m definitely ready for cleaning to become a little easier on me. Thank you so much for your comment and support, it means a lot to know I’m helping other people with my own journey too 🥰

    Aww you have made that new empty house a home and it looks lovely. Yes you can become overwhelmed as we have to clean but because of that we can't get to the tidying up part most of the time. My house is clean buy never tidy, I live in a bungalow and you can't avoid seeing everything. You've done well as you've given to charities etc, give yourself a pat on the back.....you can do this! Your partner has said your half way there. Putting stuff on Vinted is alot of work, I was stressed out when I did it to be honest as you've to take pics, put them on Vinted then get them posted.....for me never again. Lol xxxxxx

    • @Livingthefreelife
      @Livingthefreelife  10 місяців тому

      Aww thank you beautiful 🥰 I agree vinted is a nightmare, I’ve been uploading one thing at a time to not get overwhelmed and getting mum to post things for me (she’s a star) don’t know what I would do without her. Otherwise I’m worried I’ll get loads of orders and have to go out every day which I just cannot do. 😩
      It’s hard to try and do everything and keep on top of everything. Honestly I’m just so stressed with all the stuff around me, I think I’m finally starting to see a little progress and i really have got rid of so much stuff but it’s just a journey that seems to take forever 🙈
      We are warrior’s though!! ❤️

    I’m in US never saw a spider catcher. Usually I scream for my husband to take care of it. LOL

      @Livingthefreelife  10 місяців тому +1

      I do too 🙈🤣 Ben just kills them, my mum bought us the spider catcher 🤣 it’s been at the back of the airing cupboard for a while, I thought we’d better sort it out and start using it 🤣

    It’s sometimes funny. Your „small house“ is small on (minimalism) UA-cam but I think it’s a spacious European family home 😂 I am German and I think we haven’t more space (with two kids). Your house is nicely decorated and bright for these small rooms. We also needed some time to sort things after the move in September and my office was a total mess until this weekend (had all the stuff we decluttered, tools, kitchen stuff, because the kitchen just got ready last week…). It’s a journey. I am into minimalism for 7! years and still need another round. I remember just throwing out all the paper work EVERYWHERE and toss it on he floor because I was not able to find anything. I actually have a video on my phone of how it looked afterwards. This was about two years ago. It was a meltdown just due to the chaos with job and two little kids. Since them my paper work REALLY got simplified 😅 These incidents are chances to prioritize what bothers you most and to tackle these at first when you feel well enough. At our home it is mostly toys and craft material for the kids that always give out of hand because the kids always bring something home.
    Off-topic: Will your rabbit stay alone? They are not made for this. He might need at least a (female, sterilized) partner. Maybe I missed that you’re planning on this, but I had Guinea pigs and am very aware that a lot of these little animals are quite lonely…

    • @Livingthefreelife
      @Livingthefreelife  9 місяців тому +1

      Rabbit is 7 years old and was bullied by other rabbits and prefers to be alone, we have tried to introduce others in separate territory and has never worked out, he’s always been quite happy this way as he has our company all day (except when we’re sleeping of course) I did all my research before we got him thankfully I’m not the sort of person that just goes ahead and gets animals without knowing first how to care for them. Rabbits are so complex. Thankfully he is happy in himself so I have no concerns there. 🥰
      Decluttering and minimalism is definitely a journey I agree. I’m feeling frustrated with my things but struggle letting go it’s something I am working on. Here in the UK our house is actually quite small. Though I am super happy with it. Not sure I would want anything bigger.

    At 3 you are almost done with the baby gate phase. He is grown up so much.

    • @Livingthefreelife
      @Livingthefreelife  10 місяців тому +2

      He really has, he’s very good with the stairs now but he’d be up and down them all day 🙈🤣 I thought since we want another we might leave them on until the next is grown up as we have no where to store them 🤣 we occasionally leave them open and he goes around closing them all 🤣
      The one on the living room is to stop the rabbit from getting out the front door when the postie comes 🙈 he’d be off 😩

      @@LivingthefreelifeDo it! My 5yo and 3yo just fell down our stairs in the last weeks. Even if they’re - in theory- old enough the gate makes the stop, think and slow down when they first have to open it, we search one that fits into our new house and has nothing on the floor that would cause the kids to stumble.

    What do all british homes put their washing machines in the kitchen?

    • @Livingthefreelife

      We don’t really have laundry rooms here and because our kitchens have a water supply and plumbing for washing machines it makes sense to have them in there.

    So much swearing 🙈 had my kids around watching this

    • @Livingthefreelife
      @Livingthefreelife  27 днів тому

      My sincere Apologies, my videos aren’t aimed at children. The swearing happened during the meltdown part of the video I believe? This was after the house tour was over. I don’t make a habit of swearing in my videos however I wouldn’t recommend watching them with children present for rare occasions like this 🙈 you couldn’t have known and I couldn’t have known your children were watching, next time I will put up a disclaimer so viewers can choose to continue watching or switch off, I’ve been sharing my raw and real journey and frustrations with Decluttering my home as someone who struggles with hoarding, which has resulted in the occasional meltdown.
      As before… I Apologise and hope that you turned the video off before subjecting them to more of my poor language.
