Andy La Rocque and James Murphy tops my fave lead guitarists
Yeah both of them r groovy, melodic and have a tasty solo.
Andy is a genius he's one of the most underrated guitar players in the history of mankind.
His dark mystique on his guitar work is impossible not to recognize.
Andy is the biggest reason that I listen to King Diamond, I can’t imagine the band without him. Incredibly tasteful player...🤘🏻
King without andy is nothing
Andy’s playing has always had a dark beauty to it , one of the best guitarist on this planet 🌍
A sinister, clean edge!
ANDY IS ONE OF VERY FEW WHO PLAYED ALONGSIDE SCHULDINER// WHEN ANDY PLAYS I THINK OF KING DIAMOND// INSTANTLY
I remember when he replaced hank shermann when king decided to do his own band, on fatal portrait and abigail. WOW!!, was all that went through my brain! ;)
He's technically one of the best I've ever heard, & I like everyone else, I grew up on all the greats:Blackmore, Page,Iommi,Dharma, Schenker etc. Latter era metal heroes Downing/Tipton, Murray/Smith,Uli-Rudy-Matthias too. Then the NeoClassical giants instigated by Yngwie.....not to ever forget EVH or any of the other American greats:Rhoads,Lynch,DiMartini,J E Lee etc. .....then onto the thrash pack: Hetfield/Hammet, Hanneman/King,Mustaine/whoever etc. he can hang with any of these guys , any day.One of the best, period. A sinister clean edge, indeed! ! (someone else's quote below me)..... he's super melodic when need be, can play a mean acoustic, plays the best METAL RIFFS always, has a controlled aggression & technique at his disposal, & is a killer songwriter to boot. Whew! I'd say that makes a guitar great!
ABSOLUTELY DUDE ✌️
Andy is criminally underrated
How can we forget his virtuoso work with Death.
His solo in Trapped In A Corner is majestic!
Yes indeed. The phrasing, technique, and melody are just amazing.
He was also a big Randy Rhodes fan !
Final part of this solo slightly reminds me... Steve Vai)
Andy's playing is ethereal and dreamy powerful. He is extremely articulate and such a masterful composer. Sadly, his depth and articulation has largely gone unnoticed over the years. True players recognize his mastery.
Real lovers of Metal and guitar solos know who he is. He really is a genius guitar layer.
One of my favorite guitar players. Listening to his King Diamond and Death solos had a huge impact on me as a teenager. Melodic master!
The Trapped in a Corner solo is TOO GOOD
and Chuck's rhythm part makes it even better
that entire album is perfection...
ANDY LAROCQUE// GUITAR HERO\,,,/
Andy got the most solos of all the guitarists Chuck played with. Shows how much Chuck respected him
Some of them were really ahort tho
It’s either him or James, James got a solo on every song. If we’re counting number of solos, Andy probably beats James, but James solos were longer I think
@@BartholomewBarnacleFerguson Well, James Murphy was an actual band member, whilst Andy was just playing on ITP as a session musician. Speaking of James, his solo on Altering The Future and his fiery duel with Chuck on Low Life were spectaculat moments on those albums.
@@Sara_MZKAndy and James were easily the best guitarists along with Chuck (which is insane considering Masvidal was great too). Death was just too good for this world
@@BartholomewBarnacleFergusonNo way Andy has more than James? Feels like Murphy has dozens of solos on that album
As a 15 yr old listening to Kjng Diamond i was amazed and the note choices and phrasing Andy did. I love that there are so many others who see what I did
Welcome Home is my favorite!!!!
Andy Rules!!!!!
Просто офигенный виртуоз, настоящий мастер!
Holy shit, I've been listening to Slaughter of the Soul for nearly 20 years and never knew Andy did the solo on "Cold". Now that I hear it I can't believe I didn't recognize it!
The story behind it is actually incredible. He was working in a guitar store and the at the gates guys ran into him and were just like wtf could you please record a solo on our record and he did
@@brianmcalpine6011 yes ua-cam.com/video/8ptwLSEx6Cw/v-deo.htmlsi=qLYPzfIOCyz0dw7c
Yngwie meets Brad Gillis.. what a combo..such a sick player...🤘🏻
Andy is a God.
That is all I have to say.
Andy and Pete were such great musicians! These were some of the best solos ever...
My favorite guitarist. An unlimited arsenal of intricate and creative shred!
Andy has his unique recognizable style and this is his greatest asset.
you stole my thoughts)
i agree overactive imagination from individual ,, ohhh its awesome !!!!
Un genio de la.musica .. cuantas veces nos hizo vibrar con esos solos..
Don't forget Pete Blakk, him and Andy sounded so good together with the dual guitar attack.
Yes,......Andy and Pete was the best guitar duo which King ever had.
@@TheDispather Agreed 100%
MOST UNDERATED AXEMAN ON THE PLANET*
It does not matter if he is underrated. His guitar solos are masterpiece. I loved his style. Influenced me big time in my guitar playing. He is the greatest Metal Guitar Player of all times...
Well, I rate him as highly as humanly possible. 🙆♂️😂🤗👌
The best guitarist in the world
Andy larocque, james murphy 2 of the most underrated metal soloist
I've been playing metal guitar for more than 30 years ( mostly death metal/black metal ) and Andy LaRoque and James Murphy are my biggest influences on lead
Those 2 are also my favorites , would be cool if they did a track together
I prefer thrash metal but I agree those 2 are my favs for death metal
Andy is one of the greatest guitar players on the planet.
KING DIAMOND HAS ONE OF THE GREATEST GUITARISTS*
One of the last walking on earth
Andy LaRocque -- the best guitarist for me, possibly ever. His melodies have been haunting me for over 30 years. King Diamond is Andy for me. I would listen to his music without words if it was possible. Why wouldn't he record solo projects? My God, he was good. Pure Genius
Yeah, I was always wondering the same thing, he produces tons of stuff for other bands but when it comes to personal solo material, there's only one album...
You can now, with AI, just delete King! LOL google ultimate vocal remover AI
Nothing from "Abigail"??? This album is a real masterpiece!!!
"Mansion In Darkness" for example.
I thing Black Horsemen has a great solo
7th day of July 1777, from Abigail, has his best solo
Yes!
HELL YES ABIGAIL\,,,/
Incredible! Andy is one of the best ever
I love King Diamond bcoz of Andy ....
I've said it once and I'll say it many times more.
Andy is the most underrated metal guitarist out there.
Sleepless nights ,for ever!!!
This solo made Pete Blakk (first part),.....Andy made only outro.
Andy's amazing, he does more than bang out notes, he paints a picture with his guitar.
One does not simply "read tabs to andy laroque"... He has that magical touch ...
My favorite guitar god and half of my favorite song writing team.
Yeahhhhh❤❤❤
Andy... Andy, Andy, Andy... One of the top 5 guitar players in the world of all time. The reason, besides Glenn Tipton, Richie Sambora and Jeff Waters i've started to play guitar in early 90's An IDOL. Best of the best. He and Pete Black, were one of the most outstanding and powerful duos in music ever. And their final solo in Invisible Guests prove it, and always will be the standard of solos in music, together with solo in Painkiller (Judas Priest). Thank you Andy
amazing vibrato
Two thumbs up for Andy La Rocque !!!!!! Amazing musician !!!!!!
What a legend
Hola este Andy gran talento mezcla entre Malmsteen y Hendrix asombroso saludos desde Argentina 🇦🇷
One of my favorite guitarists. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t ever make a mistake lol
I recently watched his interview, and he said something like "40 years of playing guitar, and I still suck". Right...
It's the beast of the beast
Some of the most amazing playing I've ever heard, very unique style 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
This is great but also really makes me notice how much is taken away from these solos without the rest of the song, really a credit to the ways his solos are built to compliment the songs, a truly amazing guitarist :)
I'd say that his solo on Overactive Imagination deserves to be here too
Indeed, all his solos from this album are great. I should have included all of them :P
Where's Insanity? Six Feet Under is a good one too, One Down Two to Go is fantastic. Short simple sweet shred pentatonics. Black Horsemen! Andy deserves more videos! He's a perfect blend between Yngwie virtuosity meets Gary Moore.
Here we are 8 years later. Only now I realize how well you made these choices. Most of these solos are from the classic line-up from Them, Conspiracy, The Eye. Excellent choices.
Such great sense of melody and right amount of technique. Andy is the man!
SO many magical solos he has done, quite fantastic. Good to see so many from The Eye on this compilation, some of his best work are on that album.
Andy is my all time favorite guitarist🤘
my favs is from black horsemen, it's so powerful !!
Best guitarrist of heavy metal
Очень сильный гитарист , не зря в него так крепко вцепился King Diamond
Legend.
Some guitarists solos don't fit the song they are in.but Andy's are always perfect.what a great musician.
This!
MOST UNDERATED GUITARIST// WTF// OTHER NAMES CAN NOT EVEN COME CLOSE TO ANDY***
@@louiscsanko9322 Well, James Murphy is great too. He and Andy are my primary influences on lead guitars
@@cthulhu6697 ABSOLUTELY 2 GREATS\,,,/
Andy's solos do fit to perfection thought out like Robin Trower 🎸
Andy is great player, king was lucky getting him n Mikey dee
one of the very best of all time! he has a style and sound all his own. magic. the whole album of "them" should be on here........... especially the invisible guests!
I know! That song comes in with the first solo and blows you away. The second one comes in and you go WTF! The third one arrives and explodes like a thousand death stars! Talk about let rip!
Heard that sonh for the first time today and i agree! Holy shit
+Kris Dahlin If you have "Them" on vinyl, on the part where King says "the invisible gusts", if you play it backwards, it says very clearly "Satan is in me"
There are a lot of guitar players in this heavy world but a few players have such a amazing and technical ability in their solos just andy can do it....strongest , darkness , melodies from hell.....!!!!!
Every KD album has Andy blowing out some killer solos.
Halloween?
The Lake?Lurking in the Dark?Haunted?Arrival?7th Day of July 1777?Insanity?Moonlight?Catacomb? Hell that whole album with the Drover/LaRocque dynamic is amazingThe Floating Head?Way too many to list anyway.
If diamond didn’t have Andy he may not have made it so big.
But it’s ALL of satan!! Don’t be lured into this stuff!!!
Andy La Rocque is the best guitarist.
el dios de las melodias!!! up the andy forever!!!!
💋diamond laroque💋👽💋
Killer Guitar!!!!! 💪🏻👿🤘🏻
Andy's powerful and felt style, so awesome.
Genius. No other word fits him.
Awesome solos! ✊🎶
those solos on The Ritual, especially the first one, with that amazing riffing behind them are probably the best. which is surprising since I'm an old KD fan. he has so many great solos it is really a fucked up task to pick up your favs...
True it is a hard task
also his solos from: visit from the dead, 7 day of july 1777, Family ghost, The accusation chair, waiting, mansion in darkness, black horseman, overactive imagination, invisible guests, in human form, and even more i can't enumerate
El Mejor!!!!
Sabes Marcela sabes
Just like me. The Eye was my first album as well, and probably my favourite. A masterpiece. Cheers!
the great Andy!
3:29!!! one of the best melodies in Heavy Metal of all times!!!
Sounds like Metallica a bit
:) Thumbs up just for the idea!
I applaud the inclusion of the solo of The Meetings and Lies and the two Death solos but I hope you will understand as a fellow LaRocque fan that I have to mention some that I think deserved to be here as they are complete and utter masterpieces.
The final solo of Behind These Walls - every note is perfect.
The opening solo of Invisible Guests - so incredibly awesome it makes half the song.
As someone already mentioned, the solo A Visit from the Dead, the one with the succession of awesome arpeggios. Just perfect.
as a personal favorite, I have a very soft spot for the melodic solo of Omens.
Cheers!
dungeonvic man what about "Insanity" man wtf no best of Andy without that one esp the last solo of that song n more so that it an all instrumental rock song.
dungeonvic holy fuck
I love The Puppet Master. Brilliant album.
His guitar work is amazing!
I'm glad you like the compilation, you saw so many songs from The Eye becouse it was my first album from king and my most favourite one.
Great La Rocque.
I agree! The solos in the song Invisible Guests are jaw dropping and really entertaining!
Slepless Night Best Solo ever
I totally agree with you bro, that's why he's one of my favourite guitar players too!!!!
uno de los mejoressssssssssss
Trapped in a Corner is the best of all solos ever.
Andy super excellent!
The second solo on Shining-For the God Below is an absolute masterpiece as well.
Even on the DEATH LP : "Individual thought Patterns", his solo's make Chuck Shuldiner's guitar sound like he should have let the guitar-solo's be done by Andy LaRoque. He has superior skills & just hits the nerve, lifting his technical level up among the top 10 metal guitarists of all time !!
Ooh fuck me those are strong words!!! Not sure I can agree with that!
Hey Chuck had a distinct sound on purpose, but let’s not forget he did write some pretty mean riffs. Chuck is a very talented musician! He was basically teaching himself from scream bloody gore all the way up to Sound of Perseverance.
You're absolutely correct about Chuck's skills as genious riff master & frontman. His focus was never on the guitar solo's. I heard Andy La... back in '86 on King Diamonds debut album. He should have played on Symbolic, but he was on Tour w. King Diamond..
So its impossible to compare Chuck & Andy. They made the best Death album imo. Horns from Denmark 🤘
@@jcaterracing Sorry bro'. Cause I never ever can show my respect to the importance of Chucks influence on the Metal scene..
I only compare their solo's on Individual....
Andy & Chuck cant be compared.. Horns from Denmark 🤘
Well, since Andy didn't want to tour with Death Chuck couldn't ask Andy to do a lot of solos, because his next live guitar player wouldn't be able to nail them note by note.
la roque/pete blakk - best KD partnership
All time favorite guitarist \m/ !
What a monster playing guitar! Tea Still today one of my favorites solos of all time...
a great solo needs a great rythm guitars and that's what king diamond is all about
Master!
Great list, but Victimized should definitely be on there
Something about his style, i seriously think he may very well be the best
