Because Tolkien didn't make it so big, but small. I liked it when the producers made it big in the movies. It gives the feeling of danger. Caraxes managed to bring down a Vhagar he was certainly weaker than Smaug. Smaug has very good durability and strength feats to go physical if needed. Not to mention Smaug is also intelligent, given he saw through Bilbo’s BS immediately. Vhagar without a rider is nowhere near as tactical.

Smaug ist 120 Meter lang . Ich habe also dieses Statement genommen und hatte somit gedacht das Vhagar größer wäre . Jetzt das ich diese Szenen nochmal schaue ist die Länge von Vhagar nicht 150 Meter groß (so zumindest scheint es zu sein) also war das ein Fehler . Also laber nicht von wegen keine Ahnung von LOTR franchise haben .
