The Widow of Nain

- In the New Testament, we read of the miracle Jesus performed in Nain-raising a widow’s son from the dead. As we study this story’s historical context, we’ll discover she had stood to lose far more than just her beloved son. She would lose her financial security, her property and inheritance, and even her legacy and name. Christ’s miracle of restoring the son also restored her. Like the widow of Nain, through the atonement of Jesus Christ, we too can be restored to all that the Father has promised us.

So sorry. Living in a Godless, loveless home is seriously painful. I'll pray the Lord will bring a way to comfort you & ease this heavy burden.
Know that you are built to handle these circumstances! Though it is challenging, your environment is NOT more than you can handle. Be the persistent light in a sea of darkness. You will face persecution, ridicule, but God is with you through all of it. His hands are on you and He will never let you go. Do not let what you see be what defines your soul. Be strong in your faith and you WILL be rewarded for your loyalty!!!

So many of my friends ask me these days if I have ''found'' Jesus and I tell them No. Jesus was not lost, I was He found me. I am living proof to the Truth. Redemption and Repentance is the key. I admitted my sins, confessed them and renounced them. Once I made a promise to myself and God to never do wrong again it was like I was spared a stoning and left to live a life of peace. I have no wealth but I have never been richer. If I can be saved so can all of us. When you walk in the light the path is much clearer. 🙏4 ✌
@Joana Christopher I respectfully disagree. I was not looking for anything except more sin and debauchery. I was lost and looking for nothing. I don't have an exact date that it happened but I feel that whatever occurred in me was like a seed that needed water. Every day the love I get from above is the water that helps me grow. My life has changed so much compared to what I was. I don't know how others will find the path I am on but the road is much easier to navigate when He is at your side. We both have traveled different paths in our lives but I think we both are on the same road now. I walk with you, it's our mission to walk with all mankind. Wishing you a Blessed life. I too (Truly Repented) this year. I never knew about True Repentance. I was never discipled after being led to Jesus.
It's been a long hard haul for Christ to get me where I am today and I am so grateful to Him.
I was unstable and double minded for many years as many many Christians are today because I was riding the fence of both worlds which really messes us up.
Pastors and Churches all across America are NOT TELLING PEOPLE what they need to be told.
Those that come into a church are being kept ignorant just as the pharisees did in Jesus day.
It's very sad. So I teach everyone I come in contact with the TRUTH of Gods word

I adore this story about Jesus. When Jesus was on the cross about to die, he told John to take care of his Mother. I'm sure he remembered bringing back to life this son. Jesus wanted to make sure that his Mother would be very well taken care of. Thank you Jesus. You always take care of those who love and obey you.

Now I understand the importance of Jesus telling John to be as a Son to Mary while upon the Cross.
Right... Childless widows were left destitute back then as in the patriarchal ancient times, ladies were dependent upon men... In this day and age ladies have their own careers and retirement. Glad I didn't live back then... That was terrible!!! I wouldn't want to be forced to marry a relative of my husband's if he died and I was childless. They said the son was possibly in his 20s and that the Mom may have been 18 or 19 when she had him, so she technically wasn't too old to remarry and have kids however...
The number one reason for Jesus saying that to each of them was out of love and the relationship they would both gain from it, a mother and son. Do you not think God would not provide for Mary and John if they needed it. I mean sure they can help each other in ways but it was mostly about the relationship, the love, the gaining of a mother and son as comfort from the loss of Jesus.

That's so much better than sticking your elderly loved one in a facility with a bunch of strangers and paying thousands of dollars for them to be neglected! And drugged up and possibly abused. Lord have mercy on us. Heal our broken hearts. Heal our families and help us to love one another as one big family!
