A lot of people don’t realize how intense all this stuff really was. And the Bible’s writers were not afraid to tell it how it was. The Bible’s really intense.

@@matthew4449 Didn't the messagearrive in Brazil with the sword and vast bloodshed. As with the arrival in Mexico where 4/5th of the popoulaion died of murder disease and pestilence. The population of Jamacai was all but a few totally destoyed by murderers. Is the kust by murder for Aztex & Myan gold the message you wrote of?

But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?
"God writes straight through crooked lines" - despite all the tragedy and persecution early Christians faced, God did not let it stop the Gospel from reaching the ends of the earth. Rather, He even used the scattering of the disciples to spread the Good news all around the world, and to reach us up to this day!
Same with the apostle Paul: He used Paul's life to demonstrate His power to bring about a 360° transformation/conversion even in someone with a terrible, bloody, and hateful past like Paul (Saul).
God's sovereignty is awesome!

i am a sinner. every day i sin....and every night i repent....and the cycle continues.
been trying to talk to this thing in my head...i dont know what or who it is. all i know is it is in my head....and it want me to come back to him. he loves me, but i dont know if i love him. but i am stuck with him. then the strange part......everytime....i read the bible or hear a holy message or watch videos like this.....i feel an electric shock starting in my brain. a tingling...and it radiates from my brain down to my spine and outwards throughout my body and it feels so good! peaceful....and i say "i know it is you, why do these words make me feel good?" and he says....."because you love me"

Indeed, it wasn't PRIMARILY about food, but it does have implications for food. Jewish Christians may still adhere to Kosher food laws, but Gentile Christians do not have to.
Jesus also declared all foods clean in the Gospel of Mark somewhere. Chapter 10, I think?

But even if He said it, all *_food_* IS clean. But some animals are not food. Pigs, catfish, shrimp, clams, lobster, rats, dogs, etc., are not food according to the biblical definition of food set forth in Leviticus 11.
Jesus would NEVER have changed the laws on food.
Read that chapter again. The whole discussion was about why the apostles didn’t wash their hands with a man-made ritual hand washing before they _ate bread._ They weren’t having a conversation about whether pork was now on the menu.
Why not trust that God knows better than you what animals are not good to be eaten? He did make them all, after all.
It wasn't about food but still gentile Christians don't have to obey Jewish laws about what meat to eat or not eat..

All verses used to support that doctrine are taken wildly out of context.
Food is definednin Leviticus 11. All _food_ is clean. Some animals are not meant to be food. They never “become” food.
Also, notice that Peter was commanded three times and he STILL did not eat. Did God chastise Him for not eating? No. He simply took the sheet back up, and left Peter bewildered. Peter figured out the visions _correct_ meaning when three Gentiles stood at the door.
We do not have any right to add private interpretation to a vision in scripture where the interpretation is given _twice._
Some people might also go to Romans 14 for a defense of eating all things... but Paul, being a Pharisee, would have NEVER taught that you can eat all things, He was even falsely accused of teaching against the commandments of God in Acts 21. Romans 14 is about _fasting_ and how _fasting_ is NOT a commandment, so no one can compel you to _fast_ on any certain day, (looking at you, Catholic Church!), nor can anyone compel you to refrain from any particular _food._ all food is clean. Period. That never changed! But not all animals were meant to be food.
We have to believe that our Creator knew better than we do what should go into our bodies- since He designed us!!

Thank you soooo much for explaining that vision Peter had in its proper context. I can't even begin to tell you how many people of the Christian Faith that have made that vision into a doctrine about how they believe that they can eat unclean animals and that God was okay with it. It's true what God said in Hosea 4:6. My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge.

I love the correction of the "new diet" idea. Accurate. Peter remained loyal to the Biblical dietary laws, and that's important because the clean animals Instructions (especially) still applies today (Leviticus 11).

@@user-uq4xj7uy2y Believers are not under any obligation to keep a kosher diet. How we eat may be better or worse from a health perspective, but it doesn’t make us any more right with God.
1. Jesus spoke of this principle: "Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him, because it does not enter his heart, but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?" (Mark 7:19).
2. Paul knew this principle: "I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself" (Romans 14:14). Therefore he could conclude, "Therefore let no one judge you in food or in drink…which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ." (Colossians 2:16-17)

This was very encouraging for me. I had an argument with someone who believes that only Hebrew Israelites are saved and after being reminded of the Roman Centurion, the Ethiopian, and the Samaritans, I no longer am afraid. I am not a Hebrew Israelite descendent, my ancestors were Irish and Swedish, So I was so scared that I was going to Hell for something I can't control. I can't physically change my genetic code. Thank you.

The book of Acts is one of the most beautiful books in the bible. It records the early church and especially Jesus salvation for gentiles! For me! Glory to the Lord Most High

you guys forgot to mention that God made saul temporarily blind and changed his name to paul.
Something to note, Saul was his Hebrew name, Paul was his Greek/Roman name. He was Saul, also known as Paul. Sadly the misconception is that Saul was the Christ hating Jew and Paul was the Missionary Christian. This is not true. Paul never stopped being Jewish, keeping the laws AND the Traditions. (See Paul's trials at the end of Acts) It is Rav Sha'ul (Rabbi Saul/Paul) heart that changed.

I have to say that......I think I saw what Paul/Saul had seen. Jesus in glory Glowing bright skin like an arc weld and a robe like he made it from the sun, He held out His hand to me! I'm worried though If it wasn't Him. And yet If it was not Him, then it only brought me that much closer to Him. How does one discern between these things, between good and evil since we are not to lean on our own understanding? and finally what does this mean for me. IM scared and yet know that there is peace beyond understanding He is real and very much alive! how do I help feed His sheep? God Love you bless you and keep you in His favor.
